We are not involved in it, we do not conduct negotiations with terrorist organisations, neither do we have any agreements with these terrorist organisations. The only thing that obligates Israel is the agreement and understanding we have reached with chairman Abu Mazen (Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas) and the Palestinian authority at Sharm el-Sheik."
2. Gissin walking to lift
STORYLINE:
Palestinian militant groups agreed on Thursday to continue a truce with Israel until the end of this year on condition that Israel halts violence against Palestinians and frees prisoners, participants at their meeting in Cairo said.
Extending the halt in attacks that began in early February is key in Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas' attempts to push forward the fragile peace process with Israel.
The agreement came during talks in Cairo between 13 Palestinian factions, including Hamas and Islamic Jihad, the main groups carrying out attacks on Israel.
In Israel, Israeli spokesman Raanan Gissin dismissed the cease-fire declaration as an internal Palestinian issue but said Israel would honour its February 8 agreement with Abbas to refrain from military action as long as Palestinians cease violence against Israelis.
Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon called a halt to violence after a February 8 summit in the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheik, in which Israel also promised to return five West Bank cities to Palestinian control.
Since then violence has dropped dramatically, but a deadly Islamic Jihad suicide bombing on February 25 prompted Israel to halt some of its commitments.

EN - High Representative and Vice-President Federica Mogherini in Cairo, Egypt, on an official visit: meeting with Sahar Nasr, Egyptian Minister for International Cooperation and signature of a financing agreement - 02.11.2015 - Cairo, Egypt.
Federica Mogherini: "Thank you very much. It's a really important moment for us, for the European Union as well. It is also my first signature of a bilateral agreement with Egypt ; I think this can open the way for many others. And it is indeed a very important and very symbolic one as it provides a grant of € 68 millions to finance the Egypt gas connexion project that as you said is going to facilitate a connexion to gas to poorest families in Egypt, but it will also support the possibility for Egypt to have clean energy, sustainable energy, which is something also very important for us, Europeans, but I know also for you in view of the Climate Change Conference in Paris in a little bit more than a month now, and shows how much we have to work on together locally, regionally and globally. So I thank you very much for this opportunity, and I really wish this can be (...) for us in particular the beginning of a long and strong partnership, friendship, and the first one of many agreements we can sign in the future."

Rightist leader Camille Chamoun speaking to press after the Cairo agreement was announced.
Renewed clashes in Beirut on Saturday (October 30th) and a warning by rightist leader Camille Chamoun that his forces may resume fighting threatened the shaky Lebanese ceasefire. Casualty figures from fighting in the capital on friday (october 29th) and in the chouf region to the south east were the highest for any 24-hour period since the ceasefire began ten days ago. Chamoun said that if the situation continued to deteriate, his forces would disregard the ceasefire and resume their right to engage in military action. Chamoun has called on President Elias Sarkis to ask the 2,300-strong Arab peacekeeping force to intervene in the chouf area and said he would ask for Syrian aid if there was no response. At the rightist-held port of Jounieh on Wednesday (October 27th), Chamoun, leader of the Lebanese National Liberal Party, gave an exclusive interview to UPITN, on the ceasefire agreement

African leaders have signed a agreement in Egypt to create a new free-trade zone stretching from Cairo to Cape Town.
The Tripartite Free Trade Area (TFTA) will include 26 countries - around half the continent's total - uniting three existing trade blocs in eastern and southern Africa.
It is hoped that reducing trade barriers will bring prices down and boost economic activity between African countries that has long suffered for several reasons including poor infrastructure.

English/Nat
Bitter fighting between rival clans is continuing in Somalia with soldiers from the Somali Patriotic Movement (SPM) gaining ground north of Kismayo.
APTV went on patrol with the S-P-M troops led by General Mohammed Said Hersi - otherwise known as General Morgan - as they took the village Bulo-Gadud from Somali National Front (SNF) troops.
General Morgan now controls much of the rich agricultural lands in the Juba Valley as well as Kismayo.
The fighting has been ongoing despite the 26 factions in Somalia signing a peace agreement in Cairo last December.
Soldiers from the Somali Patriotic Movement moving north through Yountoy (pron: Yun-toy).
Leading their gains to the north of Kismayo is General Mohammed Said Hersi - otherwise known as General Morgan.
He is one of the biggest clan leaders in the area and is fighting against troops from the Somali National Front and Salbar forces lead by General Hussein Aideed.
General Morgan is pushing them back and retaking ground that he believes rightly belongs to his clan.
So far he controls Kismayo and much of the fertile Juba valley.
The next target is the village of Bulo-Gadud, 25 kilometres north of Kismayo.
With General Morgan directing the fighting, the S-P-M troops are successful.
Afterwards pushing the S-N-F troops back, Morgan meets with the village leaders to reassure them that they will now be protected.
Morgan says the S-N-F troops were killing the locals and looting their homes.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
"We appeal to the international community to help our people, so much have suffered. Since we came yesterday we've been asking the people and really they were having a lot of problems with those people who were present in this area, starting from Yountoy to Bulo-Gadud. They were looting the properties of the local people, the indigenous people."
SUPER CAPTION: General Morgan
The S-P-M troops captured several opposing troops on their continuing offensive north.
The fighting has been ongoing despite a peace agreement signed in Cairo last December which included Somalia's 26 factions.
The country has had no central government since 1991, when dictator Mohammed Said Barre was ousted and the East African nation split along clan and factional lines.
General Morgan says he wants to end the fighting and is ready to negotiate.
But he won't give up any of his land.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
"We are not hesitating to talk to anybody whatever side. We are willing to talk to every person, willing to bring peace and stability to Somalia. We are welcoming them and would like to. But we don't allow, we are not in a position to make a challenge of having a part of our areas. But we are ready to negotiate and to solve our problems as a general with set rules of conciliation whether it is local or national level."
SUPER CAPTION: General Morgan
Until then his Somali Patriotic Movement troops will continue their push north of Kismayo until Morgan is stopped or the factions can be persuaded to abide by the Cairo agreement.

Egypt waiting on results of Gulf's truce with Qatar, says El-Sisi
Egypt won't make any reconciliation efforts of its own until it sees how recent agreement with Gulf states turns out
In what is considered his first direct reaction on Gulf states' reconciliation with Qatar, Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi told France 24 on Thursday that Egypt was still waiting for the results of the agreement before taking any steps of its own.
El-Sisi's statement comes a day after Egypt's presidency said it welcomed the reconciliation with Qatar.
In a summit held in the Saudi capital Riyadh on Sunday, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates agreed to return their ambassadors to Doha, ending a months-long dispute between the Gulf Arab allies.
Official relations between Egypt and Qatar have deteriorated rapidly following the ouster of president Mohamed Morsi in July 2013, as Doha – a backer of the Muslim Brotherhood, from which Morsi hails – criticised the Islamist's removal.
El-Sisi's interview with France 24 on Thursday comes before his trip to France and Italy next week, his first official visit to Europe since winning June's presidential election by a landslide.
In his comments, the president also revealed he was considering offering a presidential pardon for three Al Jazeera journalists imprisoned in Egypt since late 2013 on charges of airing false news and joining a terrorist group.
Australian Peter Greste, Egyptian-Canadian Mohamed Fadel and Egyptian Baher Mohamed were sentenced in June to jail terms ranging from seven to 10 years, a verdict that drew widespread condemnation as world leaders called for their release.
"I was not in charge when they were arrested," El-Sisi said on Thursday, echoing previous comments he has made about the case. "If it were up to me, I would have them deported to their countries immediately."
While in the past he has insisted he won't interfere in the case, citing the judiciary's independence, he said on Thursday that the three journalists could be pardoned if it were in the best interest of Egypt's national security.
Last week El-Sisi issued a law allowing non-Egyptian defendants on trial or convicts to be sent home to be tried or finish out their sentences.
Meanwhile, the president on Thursday denied that Egypt has any ground troops or air forces in Libya – dismissing previous claims that Egypt and the UAE were participating in joint air strikes against Islamist militias in the North African neighbour.
"We support the official Libyan army and we only protect our western borders," said El-Sisi.
Regarding the situation in Sinai – home to a militant insurgency which the army has tried to contain – El-Sisi said recent decisions and procedures taken in the area aim to prove Egypt's sovereignty in Sinai as well to prevent the peninsula from turning into a threat or "backstage" from which to launch attacks against Israel.
Hundreds of army and police personnel have been killed in militant attacks in Sinai since Morsi's removal, as citizens have also been caught up in the violence as the attacks have spread to Cairo and the Nile Delta.
The army says it has killed a similar number of militants.
