An insular area is a United States territory, that is neither a part of one of the 50 U.S. states nor the District of Columbia, the federal district of the U.S. They are called "insular" from the Latin word insula ("island") because they were once administered by the War Department's Bureau of Insular Affairs, now the Office of Insular Affairs at the Department of the Interior. The term insular possession is also sometimes used.
Because those insular areas that are inhabited are unincorporated territories, their native-born inhabitants are not constitutionally entitled to United States citizenship, under the Citizenship Clause.[citation needed] However, Congress has extended citizenship rights to all inhabited territories except American Samoa, and these citizens may vote and run for office in any U.S. jurisdiction in which they are residents. The people of American Samoa are U.S. nationals, but not U.S. citizens; they are free to move around and seek employment within the whole United States without immigration restrictions, but cannot vote or hold office outside of American Samoa.[citation needed]

"Tip" can also mean bribe, so don't be afraid to ask what you're paying for upfront. Locals often do things to try help you, but then expect a tip.
The average basic worker earns PHP 300 a day. So tipping PHP 20 - 50 is fine.

Shopping mall culture, locals love the mall for the aircon and to get out of the heat.
Locals often inflate prices for foreigners and tourists. Haggle and negotiate nicely. Be tough, but be respectful and polite about it. Shop around, you can often get a better price.
"Tip" can also mean bribe, so don't be afraid to ask what you're paying for upfront. Locals often do things to try help you, but then expect a tip.
The average basic worker earns PHP 300 a day. So tipping PHP 20 - 50 is fine.

The island is within the 270,125-hectare area of Coiba National Park that protects marine, coastal, and island ecosystems and was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2005. Within this park are the insular areas (153,582 hectares) of Coiba Island, Ranchería (Coibita) Jicarón, Jicarita, Afuerita, Canal de Afuera, Uvas, Contreras, and Brincanco, as well as marine areas (216,543 hectares), making it one of the largest marine parks in the world.
How to arrive
===========
To reach Coiba National Park island and visit the Granito de Oro islet, you must first travel to Port Mutis. On the boat ride over to the island you will go on an impressive tour of the beautiful Gulf of Montijo Wetland, observing its coastal and marine flora and fauna around the Gulf islands of Leones, Cébaco, and Gobernadora.
It can also be reached by travelling to Hicaco, Santa Catalina, and Playa Arrimadero in Madre Vieja, although on these routes you will not be able to observe the beauty of the Gulf of Montijo.
Plane: A flight from Panama City to the city of Santiago takes approximately 20 minutes.
Car: It is a 5 hour drive (245 kilometers). Once in Santiago, take the highway to either Puerto Mutis (25 km) or Santa Catalina to board a boat and sail to the island.

Its common for taxi drivers in Manila to try rip you off. Ask them nicely to put the meter on, or negotiate the price from the start if you know what it costs to your location. Otherwise find another taxi!
Shopping mall culture, locals love the mall for the aircon and to get out of the heat.
Locals often inflate prices for foreigners and tourists. Haggle and negotiate nicely. Be tough, but be respectful and polite about it. Shop around, you can often get a better price.
"Tip" can also mean bribe, so don't be afraid to ask what you're paying for upfront. Locals often do things to try help you, but then expect a tip.
The average basic worker earns PHP 300 a day. So tipping PHP 20 - 50 is fine.

Intramuros "The Spanish Walled City" is the oldest district and historic core of the City of Manila, the capital of the Philippines. The Bourne Legacy (2012) movie was filmed in parts of the Intramuros area.

Mall of Asia.
El Chupacabra Restaurant, 5782 Felipe St. cor. Polaris St., Makati City.
Regarding the street people in Makati Manila, I bought many of them rice and stir fry dinners and bottled water. I interviewed a few of them off camera and they all confirmed they had come to that area for the holiday and tourist season to try beg for money from foreigners. They were there by choice, and went back to their provinces after new years.
Travel Tips:
Everyone spoke English and generally very friendly.
Its important to have photo ID for flights, hotels, and if police ask.
Its common for taxi drivers in Manila to try rip you off. Ask them nicely to put the meter on, or negotiate the price from the start if you know what it costs to your location. Otherwise find another taxi!
Shopping mall culture, locals love the mall for the aircon and to get out of the heat.
Locals often inflate prices for foreigners and tourists. Haggle and negotiate nicely. Be tough, but be respectful and polite about it. Shop around, you can often get a better price.
"Tip" can also mean bribe, so don't be afraid to ask what you're paying for upfront. Locals often do things to try help you, but then expect a tip.
The average basic worker earns PHP 300 a day. So tipping PHP 20 - 50 is fine.
