Kamchatka: The Erupting Peninsula
Explorer Stepan Krasheninnikov first pointed it out in 1755: there may not be another land mass on Earth where so many volcanoes and hot springs are crammed into so little space. Situated along the Pacific Coast of Russia, the Kamchatka Peninsula is part of the Ring of Fire, one of the most geologically active zones on the planet. More than 300 volcanoes dot the peninsula, including 29 active ones

The Kamchatka Peninsula (Russian: полуо́стров Камча́тка, poluostrov Kamchatka) is a 1,250-kilometre (780 mi) peninsula in the Russian Far East, with an area of about 270,000 km2 (100,000 sq mi). It lies between the Pacific Ocean to the east and the Sea of Okhotsk to the west. Immediately offshore along the Pacific coast of the peninsula runs the 10,500-metre (34,400 ft) deep Kuril--Kamchatka Trench.
The Kamchatka Peninsula, the Commander Islands, and Karaginsky Island constitute the Kamchatka Krai of the Russian Federation. The vast majority of the 322,079 inhabitants are Russians, but there are also about 8,743 Koryaks (2002). More than half of the population lives in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (179,526 people in 2010) and nearby Yelizovo (38,980).
The Kamchatka peninsula contains the volcanoes of Kamchatka, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Kamchatka receives up to 2,700 mm (110 in) of precipitation per year. The summers are moderately cool, and the winters tend to be rather stormy though rarely producing lightning.

캄차카 반도는 행정 구역상 러시아 극동 연방관구의 캄차카 지방에 속한다.

STORYLINE:
A volcano is continuing to erupt in Russia's Far East, sending plumes of gas and ash into the sky.
Footage filmed on Friday shows rivers of molten lava flowing in the area of the Plosky Tolbachik volcano, in Kamchatka peninsula.
"The hot materials have erupted to the height of up to one hundred metres," said Yuri Demyanchuk, a volcanologist who has made several visits to the site.
According to authorities, there is no immediate threat to residential areas, but officials have advised residents to ensure they have access to protective masks.
The nearest town is around 60 kilometres away.
The volcano started erupting in November, after lying dormant for almost 40 years.

Kamchatka peninsula is extremely geologically with many of hot geysers and springs, volcanoes, lake of acid. Kamchatka climate is diverse and numbers several climate zones, divided along alpine, coastal and geothermal lines. This short documentary movie starts from Yelizovo airport. More than 300 volcanoes dot the peninsula, including 29 active ones. And the volcanoes are as diverse--in shape, size, geologic formations, and eruptive styles--as they are numerous.
In September 2014, Landsat 8 captured six clear images that were stitched into a mosaic of Kamchatka's often cloudy east coast. Five volcanoes displayed plumes of steam, gas, or ash that day. From north to south, they are: Shiveluch, Bezymianny, Kizimen, Karymsky, and Zhupanovsky. The logistics of maintaining ground-based sensors in this rugged region make satellites a necessity for monitoring the volcanoes.

Volcan Kizimen En Erupcion ( Kamchatka Peninsula Rusia ) Y Volcan Nevado Del Huila En Erupcion - Volcano eruption 1080p HD.
Kizimen (Russian: Кизимен) is a stratovolcano located in the southern part of Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia.
The volcano was in a dormant state since an eruption in 1929, but on 2 September 2009 it was reported by Georgina Cooper for the Reuters news agency that the crater lake temperature had risen 10 degrees Celsius in a week and plumes of steam were rising from its flanks. The activity continued throughout 2010, with the formation of new fumaroles reported in November. Seismic activity and ash emission continued to build over the following weeks, and in January 2011 a hotspot was recorded, indicating the presence of lava. In early February 2011 the volcano sent a column of ash several kilometres high. Air traffic was alerted and told to avoid the area.
In April 2011, it was reported that the volcanic activity and ash were threatening the endangered wild reindeer of the area.
On 31 December 2012, following a 24 hour period of some 357 earthquakes reported under the volcano, Kizimen was raised to 'orange alert' status. An eruption was reported on 10 January 2013, with the ash plume reaching 14,000 ft (4,250 m) altitude.
Nevado del Huila (/nɛˈvɑːdoʊ dɛl ˈwiːlə/, Spanish pronunciation: [neˈβaðo ðel ˈwila]) at 5,364 metres (17,598 ft), is the highest volcano in Colombia located in Huila Department, Tolima and Cauca Departments. It is visible from the city of Cali. After being dormant for more than 500 years, the volcano showed heavy signs of activity in 2007 and 2008. As of February 20, 2007, there were more than 7000 "minor" seismic events, and a high state of alert was in place for the departments of Cauca, Huila, Caldas and Valle del Cauca. The volcano erupted twice in April 2007, once in April 2008 and again in November 2008.

Full Circle with Michael Palin Episode 1 Part 5 FINAL
Episode One: Alaska/Russia
Michael begins his trek around the Pacific Rim at Little Diomede Island, Alaska, in hopes of returning there in a year's time. Arriving at Nome, he visits with a goldpanner on the "Golden Sands of Nome". Next Michael journeys to Kodiak Island, aiming to catch a flight from the U.S. Coast Guard to the western island of Attu. Unfortunately, the plane never arrives; however, he does catch a glimpse of the Kodiak brown bear. Michael and his crew find an alternative: they catch the last Alaska Airlines flight of the year from Anchorage to Petropavlovsk in Russia. Arriving on the Kamchatka Peninsula, he meets his guide Igor Nosov and his assistants. They board a helicopter and observe the Kronotsky Reserve, which contains some active volcanoes, as well as some reindeer. Moving on to the city of Magadan, he visits an old Gulag camp with a survivor. In Vladivostok, he observes the once-powerful Pacific Fleet and is given an opportunity to sing with the Pacific Fleet Ensemble.
About:
The series documented a 10-month, 50,000 mile (80,000 km) trip taken by Palin and a film crew around the rim of the Pacific Ocean in 1995, beginning on the Diomede Islands between Alaska and Russia in the Bering Strait. The intent was to make the full anti-clockwise trip around the Pacific Rim and end up back on the Diomede Islands, but due to rough weather, he was unable to actually set foot back on the Islands again at the end of his journey. He got within 2 miles of completing the full circle. Palin travelled through Russia, Japan, South Korea (they were not allowed to travel very far in North Korea), China, Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, Mexico, United States, and Canada.
