3. SOUNDBITE (Spanish) Luis De Guindos, Spanish Finance Minister:
"Logically, the Spanish government doesn''''t like these kinds of decisions, because it''''s fundamental to keep the legal security in investment processes in countries like Bolivia. And, furthermore, because Red Electrica was giving a good service to Bolivia''''s economy and its citizens. However, I have spoken with my foreign affairs and industry ministries'''' colleagues who have spoken in turn with Bolivian ministers, and Bolivia has guaranteed that they are going to compensate the company for the costs invested in the electricity network."

5. SOUNDBITE (Spanish) Luis De Guindos, Spanish Finance Minister (asked whether Bolivian decision about Red Electrica was connected to recent Argentinian decision on Repsol):
"I think these are negative decisions for the countries that take these decisions, and we don''''t believe that there is a widespread situation. They are independent situations and those government have be aware that those decisions have medium term implications from the point of view of the economic development of these countries and the guarantee of investments, that are fundamental."

STORYLINE:
Spain has warned Bolivia that its nationalisation of a Spanish company that owned most of its electricity grid will hurt the Latin American country''''s image among international investors.
But Spain''''s Economy Minister Luis de Guindos drew a distinction between this case and Argentina''''s process of nationalizing YPF, until now an affiliate of Spanish energy giant Repsol SA.
"I think these are negative decisions for the countries that take these decisions," he said, adding "we don''''t believe that there is a widespread situation."
De Guindos said on Wednesday from Brussels that Bolivia has agreed to pay compensation for nationalising the Spanish subsidiary.
Red Electrica de Espana, S.A. has denied Bolivia''''s accusations that the local unit did not invest enough in the grid, saying that Bolivia only accounted for 1.5 percent of the company''''s revenues.
Red Electrica shares were down 0.8 percent at 32.07 Euros (42.38 US dollars) in early trading.
