Aleks, from the city of Arkhangelsk in north-western Russia's Arkhangelsk Oblast district, caught one of the worlds weirdest animals on a fishing trip on the Northern Dvina River. He thought it was a common bream, but when he went to unhook it he saw it had a mouth full of what looked like human teeth. He said "It was already dead but when I picked it up and smelt it, I could tell it was fresh. "I then opened its gills which were nice and red but I noticed the mouth wasn’t right for a bream and when I opened it I nearly dropped the thing in surprise. "Inside were a load of human teeth." He then rushed to his local pub to show his friends the mysterious catch. His friend Anton Efimov, 60, said "We know Aleks can tell some tall tales but when he came in and said he had a fish with human teeth we thought he’d certainly been drinking. "But then he got it out and we were totally shocked. "None of us had ever seen anything like it in our lives." Aleks then contacted the Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography for their expert opinion. Expert Gennady Dvorykankin said: "We had to do an autopsy and carry out a series of examinations to determine the species and an explanation for the teeth. "We are convinced it is a member of the Piranha family, and that it is a herbivore piranha, not one of the meat eating ones you see in films. "It is very unlikely that it made its way from its natural tropical waters to our Arctic and then into the river so we can only assume it was dumped by an owner of exotic fish," he added. Thrilled Aleks said: "I don’t think people will be doubting my fishing stories again after this." Tags: Freak fish with human teeth baffles scientists. Fish With Human Teeth Caught In Russian River. The stone labyrinths of Bolshoi Zayatsky Island are a group of 13 or 14 labyrinths on Bolshoi Zayatsky Island, one of the Solovetsky Islands in Arkhangelsk Oblast, Russia.
As well as 13 or 14 labyrinths, there are more than 850 heaps of boulders on Bolshoi Zayatsky Island, plus numerous other stone settings such as a stone symbol with radial spokes, possibly representing the sun. All the labyrinths are concentrated in an area of 0.4 km2 on the western part of the island. Another enormous complex of stone settings on Sopka Hill, in the eastern part of the island, does not include any labyrinths.
In all there are 35 labyrinths (known as vavilons – "Babylons" – in the local dialect) in the Solovetsky Islands. All have been made of local boulders. Excavations in the stone heaps have yielded parts of bones.[1]
The Bolshoi Zayatsky Island, part of the Solovetsky archipelago in northern Russia, is home to yet another mystery. Prehistoric residents from as far back as 3000 B.C. used the island to build villages and sacred sites, including an irrigation system. They also covered Bolshoi Zayatsky and some of the surrounding islands in large piles of boulders containing bones, petroglyphs, and places of worship. Most tantalizing of all, they constructed mysterious stone labyrinths. But next to nothing is known about these people or their way of life.
The largest labyrinth is 24 meters (79 ft) in diameter, and most of them have a spiral shape (some with a double spiral resembling two serpents with their heads in the middle facing other). The structures are built of two rows of boulders overgrown with vegetation. There are 13–14 of them on the island itself, with about 35 in total.
What they were used for is unknown, but some archaeologists believe that they represented a border between our world and the underworld or were used ritualistically to help the dead pass from this life to the next. Labyrinths are a rare archaeological find, with only 300 known worldwide. The ones in and around Bolshoi Zayatsky are some of the best preserved in the world.

Rusya'da üzerlerinde iç çamaşırlarıyla müşteri arayan iki hayat kadınını fark edip geri manevra yapan sürücünün kullandığı araç, sinyalizasyon direğine çarptı. O anlar saniye saniye kameraya yansıdı. Arkhangelsk Oblast bölgesindeki bir şehirde üzerlerinde seksi iç çamaşırları müşteri arayan iki hayat kadını, karayoluna çıkıp sürücülerin dikkatini çekmek amacıyla yaya geçidi üzerinde tahrik edici bir şekilde yürümeye başladı. Bu sırada yoldan geçen bir otomobil, kadınları fark edince biraz ileride durdu, geri manevra yaptı. Sürücüsünün kadınlardan gözlerini alamadığı otomobil, geri geri gelirken sinyalizasyon direğine çarptı. Yaşanan olay gülüşmelere neden olurken, o anlar saniye saniye kameraya yansıdı.

Archangel, sometime Arkhangelsk, is a city and the administrative center of Arkhangelsk Oblast, in the north of European Russia. It lies on both banks of the Northern Dvina River near its exit into the White Sea.
In the 17th century Arkhangelsk was immensely important as Russia’s only seaport and in 1693 Peter the Great began shipbuilding operations here, launching the Russian navy’s tiny first ship, the Svyatoy Pavel, the following year. Though the founding of St Petersburg in 1703 pushed Arkhangelsk out of the limelight, it later became a center for Arctic exploration, a core of the huge northern lumber industry and a crucial supply point during the 20th-century world wars.
Only a few historical timber houses remain from the city's heyday, but there's a cosmopolitan charm to the city's parks and waterfront promenade, and Arkhangelsk's lively jazz scene and smattering of good restaurants make it a great stopover en route to two of the region's big attractions: the Solovetsky Islands and the beautifully preserved wooden architecture of Malye Korely.
Arkhangelsk was also the dystopian setting for much of Robert Harris's dark novel Archangel, and fans of the book may find themselves feeling decidedly jumpy at the sight of Stalin-like shadows in the nearby forest.

Malye Korely (Russian: ????? ??????) is a village in Primorsky District of Arkhangelsk Oblast, in the north of Russia. The main sight of the village is an open-air museum, featuring the traditional wooden architecture of Arkhangelsk area. The museum is located on the right bank of the Northern Dvina River close to the mouth of the Korelka River, about 25 kilometres (16 mi) southeast from the city of Arkhangelsk.
The museum was created on July 17, 1964.[1] Traditional wooden architecture has been recognized at the time one of the most characteristic features of Russian Norths, and some of the buildings, churches, chapels, and peasant houses, scattered all over the Arkhangelsk Oblast, were put under state protection. The goal of the creation of the museum was to save the most outstanding wooden monuments, placing them under protection on the premises of the museum. The first building, a windmill (1744) from the village of Bor of Kholmogorsky District, was moved to the museum in 1968.[1] In 1972, the first exhibit item, an icon showing St. James, was transferred to the museum. In parallel with the building transfer, it was decided that the museum will be divided into a number of sectors, representing different historical areas. The first sector, representing Kargopol and the Onega, was completed in 1973, and on June 1, 1973 the museum was open for public.
In 1983, the museum became a member of the Europen Open-Air Museum Association.[1] In 1986, the museum, which was previously subordinate to the Arkhangelsk Fine Art Museum, became an independent museum unit. In 1995, it was designated as a cultural monument of federal significance. Lidia Bostryom was the director of the museum between 1975 and 2005.

Take a tour of Solovetsky Monastery in Solovki, Russia -- part of the World's Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats.
Located on the Solovetsky Islands, a small archipelago in Solovki, Russia, is the Solovetsky Monastery.
The site was founded by two monks in the 1400s and after a generous land donation the monastery was substantially expanded.
The secluded location of the islands was a perfect stronghold throughout the Livonian, Crimian and Russian Civil Wars.
The surrounding walls are four to six meters in thickness and encompass the village where the monastery is located.
A source of great pride for the monks inhabiting the monastery were the expansive manicured grounds and gardens.
Solovetsky Monastery and village now cover all the Solovetsky Islands and are open for visitors and pilgrims.

One of the most famous of Russia’s northern archipelagos is Solovki, also known as the Solovetsky Islands, located in the Arkhangelsk Region.
History tells us that in 1429 three monks fled north from the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery in search of a new frontier on which to found a much stricter order. Zosima, Savathius and German, now consecrated saints, settled on a picturesque island three days by boat from the southern coast of the White Sea. The island had previously been used as a pagan sanctuary. The small site established by Zosima, Savathius and German became a powerful monastery in less than 100 years. The Solovetsky Islands have always played a crucial role in Russian history.
In ancient times the islands were home to one of Orthodoxy’s most influential monasteries, but during the Stalinist era it was converted into a high-security gulag. Hundreds of thousands of inmates died in the infamous Solovki Camp.
Today, the Solovki Islands, now protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Center, are a tourist destination and anyone is free to visit. Getting to the islands, however, is far from easy.
Solovki can be reached all the year round by water or by air. However the White Sea is usually navigable from May to mid-September so if you are nervous flyer you have about two weeks left to explore Solovetsky islands this year.
In winter Solovki is accessible only by air. Local flights from Archangelsk (765.5 miles north of Moscow) to Solovki are scheduled 2-3 times a week, with some seasonal changes.

4. New York - New York scored higher than most other cities in the ranking in all of the categories except of quality of life, where it ranked a poor 47th. It has teamed with innovator IBM to help the city prevent fires and protect first responders as well as identify questionable tax refund claims--a move that is expected to save the city about $100 million over a five-year period.
3. Paris - Paris already has a highly successful bike sharing program, Velib, and just last month, its mayor launched a similar model for small EVs called Autolib.
2. Toronto - smartest city in NA, scored well across the board, it is an active member of the Clinton 40 (C40) megacities, which seek to transition to the low-carbon economy. The private sector is getting in on the action too, setting up a Smart Commute Toronto initiative to increase the city's transit efficiency.
1. The smartest city in the world is Vienna - Vienna was the only city that ranked in the top 10 in every category. It is establishing bold smart-city targets and tracking their progress to reach these goals with programs like Smart Energy Vision 2050, Roadmap 2020, and Action Plan 2012-2015.

Batman Arkham Knight - Run Through the Jungle - Fly under 3 main bridges between the islands in one continuous glide. [Bronze / 5G]
The basic strategy for this trophy / achievement is to use the Batmobile Eject or jump from a very high point and then dive bomb all the way down under the first bridge. Now pull the left stick all the way back to get as high into the air as possible. Keep using dive bombs and always pull the left stick back to glide up into the air. This allows you to glide for a very long time, almost endlessly as you will get a lot of momentum from the dive bombs and can fly high again.
You must fly under the 3 bridges that connect the islands. It's recommended to start on the northern bridge (the smallest one) as it's the hardest. The trophy takes roughly 30 seconds to unlock after flying under the third bridge!
Please note that you must progress in the story first to restore power to the bridges. Otherwise the bridges won't be lowered.
