Reggio di Calabria or Reggio in Southern Italy, is the biggest city and the most populated comune of Calabria, Southern Italy, is the capital of the Province of Reggio Calabria and is the seat of the Regional Council of Calabria. Reggio is located on the "toe" of the Italian Peninsula and is separated from the island of Sicily by the Strait of Messina. It is situated on the slopes of the Aspromonte, a long, craggy mountain range that runs up through the center of the region. The third economic center of mainland Southern Italy, the city proper has a population of more than 185,000 inhabitants spread over 236 square kilometres (91 sq mi), while the fast-growing urban area numbers 260,000 inhabitants. About 560,000 people live in the metropolitan area, recognised in 2009 by Italian Republic as a metropolitan city. As a major functional pole in the region, it has strong historical, cultural and economic ties with the city of Messina, which lies across the strait in Sicily, forming a metro city of less than 1 million people. Reggio is the oldest city in the region, and despite its ancient foundation – Ρηγιον was an important and flourishing colony of Magna Graecia – it boasts a modern urban system, set up after the catastrophic earthquake on December 28, 1908, which destroyed most of the city. The region is subject to earthquakes and tsunami. It is a major economic center for regional services and transport on the southern shores of the Mediterranean. Reggio, with Naples and Taranto, is home to one of the most important archaeological museums, the prestigious National Archaeological Museum of Magna Græcia, dedicated to Ancient Greece (which houses the famous Bronzes of Riace, rare example of Greek bronze sculpture, which became one of the symbols of the city). Reggio is the seat, since 1907, of the Archeological Superintendence of Bruttium and Lucania. The city has two recently founded universities: the "Mediterranea" University, and the "Università per Stranieri" (University for Foreigners). There are also an Academy of Fine Arts (opened in 1967) and a Conservatory of Music (founded in 1927). The city center, consisting primarily of Liberty buildings, has a linear development along the coast with parallel streets, and the promenade is dotted with rare magnolias and exotic palms. Reggio has commonly used popular nicknames: The "city of Bronzes", for the Riace bronzes which are testimonials of its Greek origins; the "city of bergamot", which is exclusively cultivated in the region; and the "city of Fatamorgana", an optical phenomenon visible in Italy only from the Reggio seaside. Fondata l'11 gennaio 1914 da 61 impiegati pubblici, nel corso della sua storia è stata rifondata per due volte: nel 1944 e nel 1986, il 14 luglio 2015 l'esistente Reggina Calcio 1986 s.p.a. del padron Lillo Foti ha rinunciato ad iscriversi al campionato di Lega Pro 2015-2016 per problemi finanziari, continuando la propria attività con il solo settore giovanile, conservando il numero di matricola e l'affiliazione alla FIGC. Nel frattempo è stata fondata una nuova società volta a rappresentare la città di Reggio Calabria nel calcio. La nuova società prende la denominazione di Associazione Sportiva Dilettantistica Reggio Calabria, aderendo all'art. 52.10 del regolamento federale, che ha consentito di iscrivere un rinnovato sodalizio alla Serie D. L'obbiettivo della nuova società è quello di continuare la storia ultracentenaria della Reggina Calcio. Nella stagione 1964-1965 la Reggina, con Maestrelli in panchina, conquistò la prima promozione in Serie B; a cavallo fra il 1999 e il 2009 inoltre, disputò 9 stagioni in Serie A, di cui sette consecutive. Il miglior piazzamento in massima serie è il decimo posto raggiunto nel campionato 2004-2005.]

Il nuovo video realizzato dall’Anas per un bilancio dell’esodo estivo 2015 anche sulla Salerno Reggio Calabria. Il filmato raccoglie le testimonianze dirette dei turisti italiani e stranieri che hanno attraversato l’autostrada A3 sia nei giorni delle grandi partenze, sia per il ritorno dalle vacanze. Una nuova autostrada dove quest’anno, per la prima volta, era presente un solo cantiere inamovibile di 3 km ai confini tra Basilicata e Calabria e che ha consentito di percorrere i 443 k dell’intera arteria senza particolari disagi. Solo in dure occasioni, nei giorni da bollino rosso, è stata attivata la regolazione del traffico sui percorsi alternativi in corrispondenza del viadotto Italia. Oltre 4 milioni 680 mila veicoli transitati tra luglio e agosto, 2364 interventi di soccorso meccanico, 20 mila telefonate al numero verde Il video si articola in 4 capitoli: La nuova A3: turisti italiani e stranieri che ritornano a casa e testimoniano che ormai l’A3 è una nuova e bella autostrada, alcuni l’hanno percorsa per la prima volta, altri la percorrono da anni, ma le code e i cantieri sono soltanto un ricordo del passato. Le nuove tecnologie sull’A3: i cantonieri illustrano con orgoglio l’avanzamento tecnologico sull’autostrada “Questa autostrada è cresciuta non solo grazie all’ammodernamento, ma anche alle nuove tecnologie…” con il sistema Vergilius per il controllo della velocità, i numerosi Pannelli a messaggio variabile, il sistema Rmt a bordo dei mezzi Anas e l’utilizzo del Mos Mobile attraverso un tablet per comunicare in tempo reale con la sala operativa Turisti stranieri sull’A3: Nell’estate 2015 si è registrato anche un notevole incremento per le presenze di turisti stranieri che hanno attraversato l’intera Autostrada e provenienti da Malta, dalla Sicilia e dalla Calabria. Molti provengono dal Belgio, dalla Germania, dalla Francia, dalla Spagna e dalla Svizzera Presidi e interventi su strada: gli interventi delle squadre Anas riguardano spesso emergenze e presidi nelle aree degli incidenti. Ma in questa calda estate va evidenziato un intervento che i cantonieri ricordano con piacere riguarda il cagnolino Nerone abbandonato in autostrada nei giorni da bollino rosso e ritrovato e adottato dagli stessi cantonieri Anas della squadra di Sala Consilina (Sa). Il video si conclude con l’invito dei cantonieri Anas a ritornare ogni estate sulla nuova Autostrada, una importante arteria di collegamento che attraversa tutto il sud senza isolarlo dal nord. ”Gli italiani dovrebbero essere orgogliosi di questa autostrada – afferma un cantoniere- come lo siamo noi dell’Anas”

Путешествие по югу Италии регион Калабрия ч.3 Калабрия расположена в самой южной части Апеннинского полуострова, как говорят иногда образно, «в носке итальянского сапога». С запада она омывается Тирренским морем, с востока — Ионическим, с северо-востока — заливом Таранто, а с юго-запада отделён от Сицилии Мессинским проливом, минимальная ширина которого (между мысом Пелоро на Сицилии и мысом Пеццо в Калабрии) составляет всего 3,2 км вследствие наличия тектонической связи между массивом Аспромонте и цепью Пелори. Прямо напротив Реджо-ди-Калабрии, старинного города и центра одноименной провинции, через пролив, находится сицилилийский город Мессина. На севере Калабрия граничит с провинцией Базиликата. С запада она омывается Тирренским морем, с востока — Ионическим, с северо-востока — заливом Таранто, а с юго-запада отделён от Сицилии Мессинским проливом, минимальная ширина которого (между мысом Пелоро на Сицилии и мысом Пеццо в Калабрии) составляет всего 3,2 км вследствие наличия тектонической связи между массивом Аспромонте и цепью Пелори. Прямо напротив Реджо-ди-Калабрии, старинного города и центра одноименной провинции, через пролив, находится сицилилийский город Мессина. На севере Калабрия граничит с провинцией Базиликата.
