YouTube External Links In Annotations - How To Link Your Video To An External Website http://www.drostdesigns.com/get-youtube-traffic
Do you want to redirect visitors from your YouTube video to an external website?
If you don't want to lose viewers after they've watched your video you need to add "associated website annotations." These are links that you can add to any YouTube video you've uploaded.
Here are the steps to get started...
1. First make sure that you have YouTube partner status. You check this by logging into your YouTube account go to video manager, channel settings and you can see here that I'm already a YouTube partner and I have been verified.
If you don't have YouTube partner status then visit the video at the end of the above video.
2. Now to verify your account I've switched to a different account which hasn't been verified and I'm going to click verify and then it says here checked "call me with an automated voice message" so you enter your phone number here and then click "submit"
3. Next you've got to add your website as an associate website in webmaster tools. This confirms that you own the site before you link to it in your YouTube account.
4. So you login to webmaster tools
5. Click "add a site" then put in your URL
6. Click continue then follow the steps that's shown on the page
7. Now go to your advanced settings and scroll down to associated website and enter the URL that you added to webmaster tools. After you've done that you'll see the success sign.
If this is the first time you're using external annotations, at the top of the menu you'll see a banner that says "Enable your account for external annotation links."
Click the Enable button and accept the Terms and Conditions.
Now you can add external website annotations to your video
To do this go to your video manager and then select one of the videos you want to put annotations to and click this drop down box select annotations so you click "add annotation" in this case we'll do a note then add your text "click here for more info"
As you can see you've got your annotation there you can also stretch it out then you can click the link. You can add a video or any on the list but we're going to select "associated website" so here we're going to put in our website that we want to link it to
then after you've done that click "publish"
To check that it is actually working go back to your video manager click on the video. It should go directly to your particular blog post (external website).

Web annotation has the power to transform the traditional literary anthology as a collection of great works of literature selected, organized and explained by scholars. Students can become the experts themselves, researching and writing the scholarly apparatus usually reserved for their professors. They can also foreground their own lack of expertise by affirming the text as a space for open conversation.
In addition to the above more theoretical explorations, this webinar will serve as a basic introduction to using the hypothes.is tool in the English classroom. Participants will learn different ways to implement web annotation in the study of literature, including integration with various online platforms, a range of potential assignments, and general tips from active practitioners.
The webinar will bring together four professors of English who have used web annotation to empower students as literary critics and enhance the pedagogical potential of the literary anthology:

This TXDHC webinar with Dr. Jeremy Dean explores web annotation as an digital humanities practice for the 21st century classroom. This emergent technology allows Internet users to privately comment on or publicly discuss any web page. It can be leveraged to teach students traditional literacy skills like close reading but also newer forms of digital and media literacy. Workshop participants will be introduced to the pedagogical value of web annotation and gain hands-on experience with an open-source, standards-based annotation client. Participants will leave with a solid orientation in the basic functionality of web annotation as well as specific collaborative annotation exercises that can be used in the classroom.

Daniel Jettka (Hamburg Centre for Speech Corpora, University of Hamburg) The present work relates to a research programme that deals with the comprehensive web-based visualisation of linguistic transcriptions and annotations in the context of a broader system of annotation tools and concepts. Do you want to redirect visitors from your YouTube video to an external website?
If you don't want to lose viewers after they've watched your video you need to add "associated website annotations." These are links that you can add to any YouTube video you've uploaded.
Here are the steps to get started...
1. First make sure that you have YouTube partner status. You check this by logging into your YouTube account go to video manager, channel settings and you can see here that I'm already a YouTube partner and I have been verified.
If you don't have YouTube partner status then visit the video at the end of the above video.
2. Now to verify your account I've switched to a different account which hasn't been verified and I'm going to click verify and then it says here checked "call me with an automated voice message" so you enter your phone number here and then click "submit"
3. Next you've got to add your website as an associate website in webmaster tools. This confirms that you own the site before you link to it in your YouTube account.
4. So you login to webmaster tools
5. Click "add a site" then put in your URL
6. Click continue then follow the steps that's shown on the page
7. Now go to your advanced settings and scroll down to associated website and enter the URL that you added to webmaster tools. After you've done that you'll see the success sign.
If this is the first time you're using external annotations, at the top of the menu you'll see a banner that says "Enable your account for external annotation links."
Click the Enable button and accept the Terms and Conditions.
Now you can add external website annotations to your video
To do this go to your video manager and then select one of the videos you want to put annotations to and click this drop down box select annotations so you click "add annotation" in this case we'll do a note then add your text "click here for more info"
As you can see you've got your annotation there you can also stretch it out then you can click the link. You can add a video or any on the list but we're going to select "associated website" so here we're going to put in our website that we want to link it to
then after you've done that click "publish"
To check that it is actually working go back to your video manager click on the video. It should go directly to your particular blog post (external website).

The present work relates to a research programme that deals with the comprehensive web-based visualisation of linguistic transcriptions and annotations in the context of a broader system of annotation tools and concepts. The visualisation method that will be presented is based on standard XML and web technologies including XSLT, HTML5, SVG, X3D, and JavaScript.
The prototypical implementation of the visualisation module at this stage handles two distinct XML inputformats: (1) the generic XStandoff format (XSF, cf. http://www.xstandoff.net) which can store multi-dimensional, potentially overlapping or discontinuous annotations of texts (and in principle audio-visual data), and (2) EXMARaLDA basic transcriptions (EXB, cf. http://www.exmaralda.org), the storage and serialization format for transcripts of the EXMARaLDA Partitur Editor that is used for the transcription and annotation of audio and video data (and can in principle also handle textual data). In a later step, a conversion framework shall be created in order to support additional transcription and annotation formats as well as unrestricted inline XML annotations.
The two above-mentioned formats, XSF and EXB, serve as the input for an XSLT stylesheet which transforms the data into an HTML5 web page that contains several components: an audio player, text areas which show various information on metadata, transcriptions, and annotations, as well as 2D grid-like, and 3D multiple-rooted tree-like visualisations of the annotations. The latter is especially useful for multi-layer hierarchical annotations as will be demonstrated. The visualisations are directly embedded into the HTML5 page by the
use of SVG and X3D. Interactive effects which can be triggered by user actions (mouse-over and click events, control forms) illustrate the alignment of primary data (text or audio) and the corresponding annotations.
The HTML5 audio player can be used to play the recordings, which are referenced in the input data (in the case of EXB), or go through the textual primary data (in the case of XSF -- here a certain time frame is assigned to each character; the speed can be adjusted by the user). During the playback, the corresponding annotations in the 2D and 3D visualisations as well as the transcriptions or textual primary data are highlighted and associated information is displayed. This effect can also be triggered directly by the user who for instance is able to freely navigate through the 3D scene and explore the annotations with the mouse cursor.
