With Congress back in session, debate over reforming the American health care system is once again in full swing. Supporters of universal health care want the U.S. system to be more like those in Europe, with the government taking an active role to guarantee coverage for everyone. Those who oppose drastic changes in the U.S. system say greater government involvement and universal coverage guarantees will push the U.S. toward socialism. Germans have the oldest universal health care system in Europe - its origins go back more than a century - and they are generally pleased with the care they receive. Is there a lesson there for America? VOA's Sonja Pace reports from the German capital, Berlin.

Ebola outbreak UN health worker dies in Germany hospital | BREAKING NEWS - 14 OCT 2014 For more Latest Tech News and Product reviews SUBSCRIBE to https://www.youtube.com/user/ABCNewsChannel0 A UN medical worker infected with Ebola has died at a hospital in Germany. Doctors at the hospital in Leipzig said the man, 56, originally from Sudan, died despite receiving experimental drugs to treat the virus. More than 4,400 people have died from the outbreak, mainly in West Africa. The rate of new cases at some of the "epicentre" areas has slowed down, the World Health Organization says, but the number of cases in the capitals of the worst-affected countries is rising. Senior WHO official Bruce Aylward told reporters on Monday that the outbreak was also continuing to spread geographically to new districts in the capitals of Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea. Temperature checks The man who died in Leipzig had been working as a UN medical official in Liberia - one of the worst affected countries - when he caught Ebola. He arrived in Germany last Thursday for treatment and was put into a hermetically sealed ward, accessed through airlock systems. "Despite intensive medical measures and maximum efforts by the medical team, the 56-year-old UN employee succumbed to the serious infectious disease," a statement from St Georg hospital said. Video ID: 20141019-013 W/S Speakers arriving at World Health Summit 2014 in Berlin M/S Speakers at panel SOT, Hans Dieter Klenk, Ebola expert from Institute for Virology at Philipps University Marburg, Germany (English): "Now in the light of five hundred or several hundreds of health care workers and doctors who became victims of the outbreak in these countries, I think in the light of this it is very embarrassing to know that most of these lives or many of these lives could have been saved if these vaccines would have been developed earlier." M/S Cutaway of panel speakers SOT, Hans Dieter Klenk, Ebola expert from Institute for Virology at Philipps University Marburg, Germany (English): "I don't think there is a threat that we have an epidemic like we have it in West Africa, in Europe or in the United States. I mean there have been these very regrettable accidents in Spain and in the US that people, that health care workers who were taking care of patients who were infected, got infected themselves. And I think this may also happen in Germany, but even when this happens, I think we will be able to confine the dices in these countries here." C/U Poster reading World Health Summit Berlin, Germany, October 19-22, 2014 Federal Foreign Office, Berlin SOT, Walter Lindner, Special Commissioner of the Federal Republic of Germany for Ebola (German): "These states, if we look at all three states Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea, were weakened beforehand. two of them were civil war countries ten years ago with child soldiers and all that we know. In these states is already a total fragility. Today we have to watch out that these states don't collapse." W/S Press conference finishing SCRIPT Several Ebola experts held a press conference in Berlin, Sunday, to discuss the virus' outbreak in West Africa ahead of their participation in the 2014 World Health Summit in the German capital. Virologist and Ebola expert Hans Dieter Klenk stated that it was "embarrassing" to know that many of the lives lost from the spread of the disease could have been stopped if vaccines had been developed earlier. He went on to express doubts over the potential spread of an Ebola outbreak in Europe or the United States, saying that the risk level was far lower than in West Africa. Walter Lindner, the German government's Special Commissioner for Ebola, said that Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Guinea, the three countries affected most by the Ebola outbreak, had been weakened before the spread of the virus. He added that it was the international community's responsibility to stop these states from complete collapse. The World Health Summit will host an unscheduled meeting on the Ebola outbreak on Monday morning, October 20. The summit runs from October 19-22. Things to do in Germany | Top Attractions Travel Guide Germany was a country we fell in love with. Having spent a lot of time in SE Asia, we felt the need for a change of pace and Germany was just that. From urban hubs like Berlin to hidden gems like Freiburg, Germany offers a lot for those willing to explore and dig a little deeper. We start off our top attractions travel guide to Germany by focusing on Berlin. Below are the top 25 things to consider doing in the city: 1) Berlin Wall - East Side Gallery 2) Brandenburg Gate 3) Tiergarten 4) MauerPark Flohmarkt (MauerPark Flea Market) 5) Friedrichshain 6) Currywurst 7) Reichstag building 8) Tempelhof 9) Museum Island 10) Holocaust Memorial 11) Charlottenburg Palace 12) Checkpoint Charlie 13) Alexanderplatz - Berlin TV Tower 14) Ritter Sport 15) Berlin Cathedral 16) Currywurst Museum 17) Ride a Bike 18) Spree river boat tour 19) Wurst sausage 20) Friedrichshain Flohmarkt (flea market) 21) German Breakfast 22) Cat Cafe 23) Schnitzel and Spaetzle 24) U-bahn and S-bahn 25) Turkish Food Recently we had the opportunity to visit Europa-Park, the largest theme park in Germany and second most popular theme resort in all of Europe. This was the perfect opportunity for us to rekindle our childhood passion for rides. With over eleven different roller coasters alone we quickly realized we had never been to such a big theme park. What we found cool was that the theme park was divided into different European countries. If you can't visit all of Europe going to Europa Park is like getting little slivers of it all. Accommodating up to 50,000 guests per day, we were fortunate we didn't come during peak season; however, it was still crowded. Overall, the weather was perfect, the rides were fun and it is an experience we won't forget anytime soon. This is a bit of a surprise. We have an eight hour wait for a flight in Frankfurt, so instead of just hanging around in the airport, which was our original plan, we decided to drop our bags off and come into the city. That pretty much wraps up our little visit to Frankfurt. We spent maybe three or four hours just walking around and it was really nice to just see the city without much of an agenda. I came here with quite low expectations to be perfectly honest. I had heard more or less this is just a financial hub but it ended up being quite charming here in Frankfurt and I'm definitely going to miss Germany. I've had a wonderful time traveling around the country. We aren't having much luck with the weather today. It is really rainy here in Freiburg. It is Easter weekend but we are out an exploring and we want to show you the city. Let's go have a tour. One of my first impressions of Freiburg is that it is such a great city to walk around in. That's all we've been doing so far. It's very picturesque. There are cobbled streets and it is also very historic. Thankfully, the weather has shifted dramatically for the better. Earlier we had been rained out, so we had to head back into the hotel because it was cold and windy. Now we're seeing a few patches of blue skies, so we're going to keep exploring around Freiburg. This is part of our Travel in Germany series. We're making a series of videos showcasing German culture, German arts, German foods, German religion and German people. http://bookinghunter.com Berlin is the capital city of Germany and one of the 16 states of Germany. Berlin is situated in northeastern Germany. The most important places to visit in Berlin are: Checkpoint Charlie (its name was given for the Berlin Wall crossing point between East and West Berlin during the Cold War), Berlin city hall (built in Italian Renaissance style, its construction lasted from 1861 to 1869. Along with the State Government of Berlin it is also the office of the city's Governing Mayor), The Potsdam Castle (located about 15 miles outside of Berlin, the castle is a gorgeous masterpiece nestled amidst vineyards. This lovely structure is so exquisite that it is often regarded as the German equivalent of The Palace of Versailles), Reichstag (the seat of German Parliament. Built in 1894, it housed the Parliament of the German Empire and the Weimar Republic. In 1933, a suspicious fire in the Reichstag propelled the Nazi regime to power), The Holocaust Memorial (is a tribute to the millions of Jews killed by the Nazi government. It consists of 2007 stone slabs spread over an area the size of three soccer fields), Museum Island (located in the center of Berlin on the river Spree, it has many world-renowned museums. Due to the art and history that is preserved here, the island is a UNESCO Heritage Site), Brandenburg gate (completed in 1791, this gate is a symbol of Germany. After World War II, the gate was one of the 8 checkpoints between East and West Berlin), Berlin Cathedral (centuries old, this historic landmark has been treasured by all of Germany. Several grand domes adorn the top of the cathedral. Its striking beauty makes the trip worthwhile), Charlottenburg Palace (Berlin's largest royal summer palace. Constructed in the late 17th century. this large, ornate landmark houses a 200-year-old mausoleum that served as a royal burial ground) and many more. This video offers a lot of tips to help you plan the perfect vacation. If you want to save time and money, the most important Berlin travel tip is to compare prices before booking a hotel room or a flight. You can do this for free on http://bookinghunter.com, a site that searches through hundreds of other travel websites in real time for the best travel deals available. Travel video about destination Berlin in Germany. Berlin is Germany's modern capital city, a fascinating European metropolis with a dramatic history in which contemporary architecture merges with the imposing character of a centuries-old city. The Nokolai Quarter was built by the DDR government as a sort of old town, a European Disneyland for the city's 750th anniversary, a popular area with 'new' medieval buildings that display various guilds and stone statues that surround the city's oldest church. We travel to nearby Potsdam, a city of castles and gardens and with an old town that features a lively market atmosphere. When the monarchy settled there, so did their armies and with them came craftsmen, merchants and artists from many countries. The castle-like Nauener Tor leads to the Russian colony of Alexandrowka and then to Belvedere on the Pfingstberg. Returning to Berlin we embark on a trip at the Eastern Train Station on the Panorama S-Bahn whose carriages are equipped with large panoramic windows and marvelous views turn the journey into a wonderful adventure. The Olympia Stadium is still a gigantic and remarkable sight and for the 11th Olympic Games in 1936, the Third Reich spared no expense. A new city has emerged from its historic past, Berlin, a young metropolis of the third millennium that is increasingly becoming the centre of Europe. This metropolis with a heart is always worth a visit!

Arriving at Frankfurt International Airport we faced a bit of dilemma. With close to eight hours to kill before our flight from Frankfurt to Brisbane via Abu Dhabi and Singapore, we had to decide between hanging out at the airport and getting online work done or going into the city to for some quick one day whirlwind tour of the city. It wasn't long before we made the decision to head into town. Frankfurt, known locally as Frankfurt am Main, is the business and financial centre of Germany; however, I hadn't heard of many people visiting this city as opposed to using it as a mere transportation hub to get to more popular tourists destinations such as Berlin, Heidelberg or Hamburg. With very few preconceived exceptions we immediately started to be won over by the charm of the city center as we ventured past the futuristic avant-garde skyscrapers to Römer square. We couldn't help but notice the contrast of wealthy businessmen scurrying about in relation to relaxed hipster hangouts along the River Main. Getting outside of the financial hub of the city allowed us to experience a quieter pace of life where many well maintained older buildings displaced futuristic modern ones. One of our favorite experiences was visiting many of the green escapes where the hustle and bustle gave way to ponds, nature trails and geese. Some of the top highlights of our afternoon stroll included visiting Römer square, various museums, the River Main, Römerberg, Alte Nikolaikirche, Saint Bartholomeus' Cathedral, Römerplatz and Hauptwache. Overall, it was the perfect way to spend the afternoon as opposed to being cooped up in the airport waiting hours on end for our flight. This is a bit of a surprise. We have an eight hour wait for a flight in Frankfurt, so instead of just hanging around in the airport, which was our original plan, we decided to drop our bags off and come into the city. World Travel https://www.youtube.com/user/World1Tube Bavaria Travel Guide http://bit.ly/122uYVH Shepherd Entertainment gives you the history of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, which is a mountain resort town in Bavaria, Germany. Garmisch was a small alpine dwelling inhabited by shepherds but the neighboring, Partenkirchen already existed in Roman times and was called Parthenon. The residents of the two villages probably didn't like each other much. They even built their churches with their backs to each other lest they should meet by chance. All this changed in 1935 when the two villages were united in order to have better chances at the tender to organize the winter Olympics. This is when they built their ice skating stadium that was once the biggest in Europe. The three run ski jump stadium at the foot of the -- and the bobsled track surrounded by mountain lakes. The city is still developing and it's become one of the most well known vacation and ski resorts of Germany. However, it's not only a paradise for winter sports. One of Europe's biggest swimming complexes and the first wellness center Auschwitz was built in the 1970s. It has a water surface of 2000 square meters, a wave pool and an open beach. In summer, people can also swim in Riessersee, -- and Eibsee. Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a real holiday resort with a well kept holiday park, theater, confectioneries and restaurants. Richard Strauss bought a villa here from the royalties who received for his opera Salome and lived here until his death. We can find villas similar to Strauss' in both parts of the city mixing with farm houses built in alpine style. There are some Franconia and Swabian, wooden beam structured houses called Fachberg houses but there are more Bavarian ones. The latter are shorter, stubbier. Earlier these frescoes also called luftmalerei used to portray religious scenes but today, they'd rather tell the story of the house itself or the family who owns the house. On the walls of hotels and shops, they're a form of advertisement. The wall of Garmisch's oldest in inn, the Huszar is decorated with the picture of a dragon looking out the window. The well kept gardens are full of flowers of an incredibly wide variety and naturally geraniums adorn all windowsills and railings. The new joint city hall was built in 1935 before the winter Olympics. The most remarkable event in the city surroundings is the passion play in Oberammergau. The inhabitants of the small mountain village have been performing the story of the passion of Christ every 10 years for 380 years now. Their ancestors took a vow to do this at the time of the great plague. The passion is performed for six month from morning until evening and is now a widely known event that draws hundreds of thousands of spectators. A real technical relic, one of the old locomotives of the Zugspitzbahn is exhibited in front of the --house. New motor engines have taken its place in transportation which may not be prettier but are certainly more modern. Every winter, skiers, snow boarders and extreme sports lovers invade the mountains around Garmisch. The lower station of the Zugspitzbahn is near the stadium. There're several ways to go up the mountain including the cograils, cable cars, funiculars and ski lifts. But we can only get near the 2966m high summit with the Zugspitzbahn. Experienced hikers and mountain climbers can also reach the summit on foot in nine hours. The first person to reach the Zugspitz in this way was a Bavarian soldier in 1920. The tracks wind between the houses on the western part of Garmisch then make their way up the steep hillside. Through the pine forests, we can see spectacular mountain lakes sparkling. The last stretch of the journey takes us through a long tunnel. Emerging from the tunnel, we are greeted by a beautiful small lake and after a couple of minutes, we reach the top station. On the summing, we'll find a ski lift and a resthouse with two coats of arms on its railings to show where Bavaria ends and where the Austrian province Tyrol begins. From the huge terrace, we can see the surrounding mountains of Vank, --. There's a small chapel on the snow speckled summit where victims of the mountains are commemorated. The restaurant of the rest house offers tourists, mountaineers and skiers real Bavarian specialties and hot drinks. For our way down, we can also choose the cable car, the Seilbahn that takes us to the small lake of Eibsee instead of Garmisch. Eibsee is a crystal clear emerald colored mountain lake. Campgrounds and hotels have been built here and many people come here in summer to swim and row boats. tips,Garmisch-Partenkirchen,Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria, germany travel tips, shepherd entertainment,Garmish Partenkirchen in Bavaria Germany, shepherdfilm, world travel

Today the 1.3 kilometer long wall stands as a memorial to freedom and it is covered in art and graffiti. Right now we're visiting Brandenburg Gate. This gate dates back to the 18th Century. We're here at Tiergarten, one of the biggest parks in the city. MauerPark is a hipster hangout. Every Sunday people flock to this park and spend the day barbecuing, listening to music, enjoying a few beers, and simply having a good time. There's a popular flea market where you can pick up old vinyls and clothes, and if you head over to the Bear Pit you can catch some karaoke and musical performances. If you want to spot some cool street art, then head over to Friedrichshain. You can't come to Berlin and not eat a Currywurst! This is the city's most popular fast food snack. The sausage is served with a ketchup and curry powder concoction. Up next we're at the Reichstag building which has a pretty cool glass dome on top. This dome is actually open to visitors and it offers 360 degree views of the city. Today we're visiting Tempelhof, a re-purposed airport here in Berlin for leisure activities and sports. If you enjoy museums and art galleries you'll want to visit Berlin's Museum Island. They actually have five different museums here and if you get a daily pass for 18 Euros you get access to all five. We are now visiting the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin. It is also known as the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. Charlottenburg Palace is the largest palace in Berlin and the only surviving royal residence in the city. Checkpoint Charlie was one of the crossing points between East Berlin and West Berlin during the Cold War. Located near Alexanderplatz, The Berlin TV Tower offers a great lookout over the city. Chocolate! Ritter Sport is a chocolate brand that is sold all over Germany, and while in Berlin we couldn't resist sampling a few of the different varieties. Berlin Cathedral is located on Museum Island and it's one of the most beautiful churches in the city. If Currywurst is to your liking, you'll want to check out this quirky museum devoted to Berlin's favorite sausage. Renting a bike is a great way to get around the city. Most places will rent out bikes at 10 Euros per day. For a leisurely afternoon, hop on a boat and enjoy a tour down the River Spree. Of course, you cannot come to Berlin and not eat a Wurst or a sausage. The Friedrichshain flea market takes place every Sunday and it's a great place for people watching and a little browsing. The Germans sure know how to enjoy a hearty breakfast, and we recommend you try it too. Breakfast usually offers a wide sampling of loafs and bread rolls, accompanied with various deli cuts and cheese. We couldn't resist visiting yet another cat cafe while we were in Berlin. While in Berlin we enjoyed a hearty meal of Schnitzel. This thin strip of meat is coated in flour, eggs, and breadcrumbs, before being deep-fried. You can order it with a side of mashed potatoes or German noodles known as Spaetzle. It's quite easy to get around Berlin using the U-bahn and S-bahn system. In Berlin, there is a big Turkish population and that means there is awesome Turkish street food. And that's Berlin for you! A city that has risen from the ashes of the war, which is now bursting with art, music, and life. Have you been to Berlin? We'd love to hear your favourite things about the city in the comments below. For more travel and food videos, hit subscribe! This is part of our Travel in Germany series. ARIRANG NEWS 16:00 It′s 4 in the afternoon on Friday,... October 31st, here in Korea. Welcome to our newscast. I′m Hwang Ji-hye. Title: Korea, Germany hold meeting to discuss Korean reunification We begin with the first meeting of a joint unification advisory panel between Korea and Germany in Seoul today. The German foreign minister... said building trust between the two Koreas was the key to a smooth unification process. Hwang Sung-hee reports. At a joint press conference with his South Korean counterpart Yun Byung-se on Friday, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said conditions for the reunification of the two Koreas were easing. "North Korea is becoming more and more isolated and its long-time allies are not as opposed to reunification of the Korean peninsula as they once were." Steinmeier is on a two-day visit to Seoul for a meeting of their joint unification advisory panel. As the world′s only divided nation, Korea is seeking to learn lessons from Germany′s unification. The German minister said trust and patience were essential. "Through a process of trust-building, South Korea must observe whether North Korea responds positively. If not, the South must not make hasty investments and rather, control its tempo." Steinmeier said, however, this trust-building process will never be possible as long as the North clings to its nuclear program. And while a round of inter-Korean meetings slated for Thursday was scrapped due to controversy over anti-Pyongyang leaflet campaigns by South Korean activists, the importance of dialogue was emphasized. "Just like East and West Germany engaged in dialogue and cooperation, the two Koreas should do the same. It′s also important for Korea to secure the support and understanding of its neighboring countries as Germany had done." Steinmeier said Germany achieved what all had believed was impossible and added that a similar happy ending will also be possible on the Korean peninsula. Hwang Sung-hee, Arirang News. Title: German politician says Kim Jong-un is in good health and open for talks And a German lawmaker who recently returned from a trip to Pyongyang also says... that the North is ready... to open a dialogue on human rights issues... and inter-Korean ties. Hartmut Koschyk added Thursday... that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is still firmly in power... despite speculation about his health amid a prolonged break from the public eye. He went on to say... that North Korea wants to boost ties with Germany and the European Union. Koschyk added that... he told the North Korean leader that Germany is willing to be an honest adviser by sharing its experience as a divided country,... but it cannot act as a mediator between the two Koreas. Title: New U.S. Ambassador to Seoul Mark Lippert arrives in Korea Th

German unemployment has fallen to its lowest-level in more than two decades to 2.8 million. While those around them struggle the number of German jobless has decreased by 20,000 in February. Is Orange Juice healthy? Foods for weight loss and health - Nutrition facts about hohes C orange juice | Healthy Germany Thanks for watching! Don't forget to hit that like button for more content! Hope you enjoy! In this video, I am checking the nutrition facts of hohes C mild orange juice. This is a very popular orange juice brand in Germany. It has more than 130.000 likes on Facebook. The company markets itself as healthy and target families as main consumers. A balanced diet rich in protein, healthy fat and fibers is crucial for staying healthy and weight loss. Healthy Germany channel is promoting a healthy diet by explaining the nutrition facts of different foods. About Vitamin C: If you have a balanced diet with fruits and vegetables, you should be getting more than enough vitamin C already: red and green bell peppers, kale, broccoli, strawberries, cauliflower, pineapple, kiwi, mango, berries, cabbage family, melons, peas, salad greens, spinach, even potatoes have vitamin C in them. In this case, you also do not need any Vitamin C pills as supplement. Nutrition facts for 100 ml of Orange Juice: • 43 calories • less than 1.0 g of protein • less than 0.5 g of fat • 9.0 g of carbs • 9.0 g of sugar • less than 0.5 g of fibers SUBSCRIBE! http://goo.gl/Kdmee5 Follow Healthy Germany! • Twitter - https://twitter.com/HealthyGermanyO • Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/HealthyGermanyOrg • Google+ - http://goo.gl/3MzJNa CREDITS: • Voice: Cetin - Healthy Germany team • Outro voice: Cara - British Lady from Reading • Background Music: Habanera by Bizet- Youtube Audio Library Transcript: Today I would like to check the nutrition facts of orange juice. I have a bottle of hohes C mild orange juice in my hand. Orange juice is generally perceived as very healthy. I know a lot of people who are drinking it. It is also consumed often with alcohol, mixed with vodka and mixed in cocktails. So, let's see whether orange juice is as healthy as it seems. Looking at the ingredients, this product indeed has only juice in it. Which is good. You need to be careful with some other products, especially in the United States, that the producers are adding pure sugar or corn syrup in orange juices in order to make them taste sweeter. This product has no added sugar in it, but it is not fresh orange juice. So, the juice is actually juice concentrate. Now, let's look at the important part: the nutrition facts. 100 ml of this product has 43 cal. If I drink one 250 ml-glass of orange juice, it will correspond to 100 cal, which is 5% of the daily needs of an average adult. These calories come mainly from carbohydrates, which are 9 grams per 100 ml. The amount of fat, proteins and fibers are less than 1 gram, which is negligible. Shortly, orange juice is mainly carbohydrates. And these carbohydrates are all sugar. We have 9 grams of sugar in 100 ml and around 25 grams per glass! There are no fibers in it. So, what we are practically drinking here is water with sugar, vitamin C and orange taste. Let's discuss the health argument that orange juice has Vitamin C in it. This is correct, one glass of orange juice is going to cover your daily vitamin C needs. But who says that you are lacking vitamin C? If you have a balanced diet with fruits and vegetables, you should be getting more than enough vitamin C already. And if you really like the orange taste. Then eat real oranges! And if you are thirsty, then drink water! For me, orange juice belongs to my "food to avoid" list. The calories coming from it are empty calories. It doesn't provide satiety and has a big sugar content in it. I try to limit my daily carbs consumption to 100 grams. You should eat your calories, not drink them. As I said, I'd prefer alternatives as eating real oranges, or consuming different fruits and vegetables. Please don't drink this and don't give it to your children. It is not as healthy as it seems. W/S Forum SOT, Ethel David, Liberian Ambassador to Germany (in English): "This disease has killed people at a faster rate than during the civil war in Liberia. This disease has shaken the healthy system in Liberia. The health system in Liberia is very fragile after so many years of civil conflict; this is a system where we have one doctor to over 75,000 persons." W/S Speakers on stage SOT, Ethel David, Liberian Ambassador to Germany (in English): "The world health organisation has projected that there will be between 5,000 [and] 10,000 new cases per week in December. We should endeavour to work to together to ensure that the projection does not become a reality. We can do it, we must do it, just as the world dealt with the smallpox disease." M/S Flags, World Health Summit signs SCRIPT Liberian Ambassador to Germany Ethel David said Ebola has killed people "at a faster rate than during the civil war in Liberia" at the World Health Summit special symposium "Ebola: A Wake-Up Call for Global Health" in Berlin, Monday. David said that the world health organisation has projected that there will be "between 5,000 [and] 10,000" new Ebola cases by December and that the international community must "ensure that the projection does not become a reality. We can do it, we must do it, just as the world dealt with the smallpox disease." The symposium aims to discuss the next steps for carrying forward actions concerning the current Ebola outbreak issue for medicine and global health.
W/S Speakers arriving at World Health Summit 2014 in Berlin M/S Speakers at panel SOT, Hans Dieter Klenk, Ebola expert from Institute for Virology at Philipps University Marburg, Germany (English): "Now in the light of five hundred or several hundreds of health care workers and doctors who became victims of the outbreak in these countries, I think in the light of this it is very embarrassing to know that most of these lives or many of these lives could have been saved if these vaccines would have been developed earlier." M/S Cutaway of panel speakers SOT, Hans Dieter Klenk, Ebola expert from Institute for Virology at Philipps University Marburg, Germany (English): "I don't think there is a threat that we have an epidemic like we have it in West Africa, in Europe or in the United States.
VideoID: 20141020-010 W/S Speakers on stage SOT, Florian Westphal, Managing Director of MSF in Germany (in English): "The international community has been woefully unprepared and for far too long. It is has been unwilling to listen to the very clear warning signs that we gave. We, as MSF, but also others gave." C/U World Health Summit bag SOT, Roland Goethe, Chairman of the Board of the German Health Care Partnership (in English): "So the international community obviously failed in their role and responsibility when it comes to organising and securing the required improvements of health systems in developing countries. International organisations and experts, all of us, have strongly underestimated the outbreak for too long time." M/S People speaking on stage SOT, Sir Mark Walport, Chief Scientific Adviser in the United Kingdom (in English): "We must not have a repeat of the problems that have happened with previous pandemics with people not sharing information about for example virus sequences and the epidemiology, that's extremely important. And finally, we need collaboration and coordination. We have to work together if we're going to bring this disease under control." W/S Forum SCRIPT Germany's Managing Director of Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) Florian Westphal said that the international community has been "woefully unprepared... for far too long" against the current Ebola outbreak and failed to heed the warnings that MSF gave, at the World Health Summit special symposium "Ebola: A Wake-Up Call for Global Health" in Berlin, Monday. Chairman of the Board of the German Health Care Partnership Roland Goethe added that the international community has "obviously failed in their role and responsibility" with its role in improving health systems in the developing world. Ebola Outbreak UN Health Worker Dies in Germany Hospital | BREAKING NEWS - 14 OCT 2014 For more Latest Tech News and Product reviews SUBSCRIBE to https://www.youtube.com/user/24X7BreakingNEWS A UN medical worker infected with Ebola has died at a hospital in Germany. China Daily 2015-03-26Germany (i/ˈdʒɜrməni/), officially the Federal Republic of Germany (German: Bundesrepublik Deutschland, pronounced [ˈbʊndəsʁepuˌbliːk ˈdɔʏtʃlant] ( listen)), is a federal parliamentary republic in Europe. The country consists of 16 states while the capital and largest city is Berlin. Germany covers an area of 357,021 km2 and has a largely temperate seasonal climate. With 81.8 million inhabitants, it is the most populous member state and the largest economy in the European Union. It is one of the major political powers of the European continent and a technological leader in many fields.
A region named Germania, inhabited by several Germanic peoples, was documented before AD 100. During the Migration Period, the Germanic tribes expanded southward, and established successor kingdoms throughout much of Europe. Beginning in the 10th century, German territories formed a central part of the Holy Roman Empire. During the 16th century, northern German regions became the centre of the Protestant Reformation while southern and western parts remained dominated by Roman Catholic denominations, with the two factions clashing in the Thirty Years' War, marking the beginning of the Catholic–Protestant divide that has characterized German society ever since. Occupied during the Napoleonic Wars, the rise of Pan-Germanism inside the German Confederation resulted in the unification of most of the German states into the German Empire in 1871 which was Prussian dominated. After the German Revolution of 1918–1919 and the subsequent military surrender in World War I, the Empire was replaced by the Weimar Republic in 1918, and partitioned in the Treaty of Versailles. Amidst the Great Depression, the Third Reich was proclaimed in 1933. The latter period was marked by Fascism and World War II. After 1945, Germany was divided by allied occupation, and evolved into two states, East Germany and West Germany. In 1990 Germany was reunified.
