15:42 04 November 1964 - Ruhollah Khomeini is exiled by the Shah of Iran.

Abdul Karim Qasim, (en arabe : عبد الكريم قاسم ) aussi appelé général Kasem, né en 1914 à Bagdad, mort le 9 février 1963, fut Premier ministre de l'Irak dans les années 1950.Après avoir été diplômé de l'École militaire de Bagdad, il devient en 1955, officier supérieur et en 1957, une des figures marxistes de l'armée qui s'oppose à la monarchie irakienne.
Le 14 juillet 1958, profitant d'exercices militaires, il s'empare du pouvoir avec ses partenaires communistes pour mettre fin au pouvoir royal. Au cours de ces événements, le roi Fayçal II, des membres de la famille royale et leurs fidèles dont le Premier ministre Nouri Saïd trouveront la mort.
Le général Qasim est executé le 9 février 1963, 9 jours après un nouveau coup d'État fomenté par le maréchal Abdel Salam Aref, qui devient président par la suite1.

Abdul Karim Qasim, (en arabe : عبد الكريم قاسم ) aussi appelé général Kasem, né en 1914 à Bagdad, mort le 9 février 1963, fut Premier ministre de l'Irak dans les années 1950.Après avoir été diplômé de l'École militaire de Bagdad, il devient en 1955, officier supérieur et en 1957, une des figures marxistes de l'armée qui s'oppose à la monarchie irakienne.
Le 14 juillet 1958, profitant d'exercices militaires, il s'empare du pouvoir avec ses partenaires communistes pour mettre fin au pouvoir royal. Au cours de ces événements, le roi Fayçal II, des membres de la famille royale et leurs fidèles dont le Premier ministre Nouri Saïd trouveront la mort.
Le général Qasim est executé le 9 février 1963, 9 jours après un nouveau coup d'État fomenté par le maréchal Abdel Salam Aref, qui devient président par la suite1.

Ahmed Hassan al-Bakr was the fourth President of Iraq, serving in this capacity from 17 July 1968 until 16 July 1979. A leading member of the revolutionary Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party, and later, the Baghdad-based Ba'ath Party and its regional organisation Ba'ath Party – Iraq Region, which espoused ba'athism, a mix of Arab nationalism and Arab socialism. Ahmed Hassan al-Bakr was the fourth President of Iraq, serving in this capacity from 17 July 1968 until 16 July 1979. A leading member of the revolutionary Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party, and later, the Baghdad-based Ba'ath Party and its regional organisation Ba'ath Party – Iraq Region, which espoused ba'athism, a mix of Arab nationalism and Arab socialism.
Al-Bakr first rose to prominence following the 14 July Revolution which overthrew the monarchy. In the newly established government, al-Bakr was involved in improving Iraqi–Soviet relations. In 1959 al-Bakr was forced to resign from the Iraqi military; the then Iraqi government accused him of being involved in anti-government activities. Following his forced retirement, he became the chairman of the Ba'ath Party's Iraqi branch's Military Bureau. Through this office he was able to recruit members to the ba'athist cause through patronage and cronyism. Prime Minister Abd al-Karim Qasim was overthrown in the Ramadan Revolution; al-Bakr was appointed Prime Minister, and later, Vice President of Iraq in a ba'ath-nasserist coalition government. The government lasted for little more than a year, and was ousted in November 1963.

Dr. Muhammad Musa Al-Shareef was born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and graduated from the Faculty of Shari`ah, Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University, in 1408 A.H. He obtained his M.A. and Ph.D. in the Qur'an and the Sunnah from Faculty of Usul Ad-Din (Theology) -- Umm Al-Qura University. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Islamic Studies, King Abdul Aziz University.
One of the important factors in the development and behaviors of the societies of the world today is the impact of role models. Now, more than ever, role models are affecting the lives of all races and classes of people around the world. Because of mediums such as television, radio, telephone and the internet, many role models, such as movie stars, athletes, musicians and politicians, have become quite popular around the world.
However, such role models do not necessarily represent the ideal style of life, practices and beliefs that are wanted for the Muslim. When Muslims look up to sinful or disbelieving people who have been portrayed in the media to be successful and famous, they began to feel inferior to them. Satan may even deceive them into feeling that the reason for the non-Muslims' worldly success is their following of ways other than Islam.
Musa al-Shareef presents the stories of some of the greatest heroes and role models of Islam. The efforts and sacrifices of these people for the sake of Allah's religion will show us who we are and what we really are capable of when we have strong belief in Allah.

The residents at isolated Al Ghadeer, on the border between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, have signed an online petition after receiving an email which said the 30 ducks would be moved because their excrement could spread disease and the birds themselves got in the way of cleaning the lakes ...
