Tiryns /ˈtɪrᵻnz/ or /ˈtaɪrᵻnz/ (Ancient Greek: Τίρυνς; Modern Greek: Τίρυνθα) is a Mycenaean archaeological site in Argolis in the Peloponnese, some kilometres north of Nauplion.
Tiryns was a hill fort with occupation ranging back seven thousand years, from before the beginning of the Bronze Age. It reached its height between 1400 and 1200 BCE, when it was one of the most important centers of the Mycenaean world, and in particular in Argolis. Its most notable features were its palace, its cyclopean tunnels and especially its walls, which gave the city its Homeric epithet of "mighty walled Tiryns". In ancient times, the city was linked to the myths surrounding Heracles, with some sources citing it as his birthplace.
The famous megaron of the palace of Tiryns has a large reception hall, the main room of which had a throne placed against the right wall and a central hearth bordered by four Minoan-style wooden columns that served as supports for the roof. Two of the three walls of the megaron were incorporated into an archaic temple of Hera.

ANCIENT CIVILIZATIONS : Mycenaeans and Phoenicians
I rode to Tiryns from Nafplio. This is a legendary ancient city that is said to have been built by a Cyclops. The place is very old (1400 BC) and some of those stones are huge. Homer told about Tiryns in the Iliad and The Odyssey. More videos at www.motorcyclegreece.CA
Tiryns - Τίρυνθα, a former ancient city, is approx. 4 km north of Nafplio in the Peloponnese. The mighty Cyclopean walls of Tiryns were built approx. 1600 - 1200 BC, even though the place was already inhabited since 2500 BC. The city was a just as important center of the Cretan-Mycenaean culture like Mycenae, Pylos - Nestor's Palace - and Thebes. Only the remnants of the masonry from the former royal residence are preserved, but the throne room, baths, cisterns, entrance and gates are still recognizable. Particularly noteworthy are the galleries made of massive stone blocks. Approx. 1200 BC, the city was probably destroyed by an earthquake and a subsequent fire. The massive walls of the Mycenaean city, described by Homer as being made by the Cyclops as "no human could have built them". Much of the walls have been destroyed but there's enough to see in this video. Only being there in person, however, can reveal the true size and scale of the walls. This video was recorded on 02 October 2015.

They come, they go
They never do not go
They come, they see
They conquer then they leave
With man-eating beliefs
Superior of death
With lineage and myth
And a half-heartedness at birth
I have the same old dream
About a tunnel by my bed
From where the stench of shit of minotaurs
Yawns like lewd and evil breath
But instinct and a map
Has set to work inside my head
Instead of shedding tears
I've learned to drink and piss instead
They come, they go
They never do not go
They come, they see
They conquer then they leave
I am in Rome
And i am going to the games
I see the gulf
And it's going to
Bore my name into the
Green green grass
The catwalks of the past
My head is like an oven
As i rest it in my palms
We were just standing on the beach
When a bull rose from the surf
I said "show him the back door my dear
He'll only paw the turf"
Three seasons came and went
Tracksuits found the dispossessed
My wife had other plans
And now a bastard surfs the web
There's nothing she can do
He does not talk, he does not move
He spends all day looking at porn
Or playing fucking Halo 2
They come, they go
They never do not go
They come, they see
They conquer then they leave
I am in Rome
And i am going to the games
I am the last to find my seat
I'm standing at the gate
Intermission comes
Nerves are touched, and smokes are screened
It's on a pack of cigarettes
Along with all our faults and memes and it says
