Having not spoken to one another since a late-nineties falling out, they're each grappling with the challenges of stalled careers and relationships, as the hands of time creep ominously past forty-o'clock. Splick's most recent TV show, centered around his character's perverse relationship with dessert foods, is unceremoniously cancelled by the network, forcing a return to his childhood bedroom at his mother's apartment in New York. Frustrated by a barrage of comments about the "good," "funny," movies he used to make with his old partner, Jason, Splick determines to seek him out and attempt a reunion.

Alexander Villard: Do you ever get the feeling that you were born in the wrong age?::Max Suba: No. I appreciate modern plumbing.::Alexander Villard: You don't like me much, do you?::Max Suba: I think you are the greatest fencer that I've ever seen.::Alexander Villard: Ah. You don't like me at all.

Alexander Villard: Your blade is neither in quarte nor in sixte, and your hand is in some vague no man's land around your navel, which leaves you completely vulnerable on both sides. Now, if by sheer coincidence you happen to engage the blade in one line, you will most certainly [malparry/touche, malparry/touche, malparry/touche] miss it in another.
Max Suba: Swordplay is like conversation. You have to learn to listen to your opponent.
Alexander Villard: Learn to probe for your opponent's weakness, uncover it, and once you have found it? Pop! strike.::Max Suba: Make yourself aware of your own weaknesses, as well as those of your opponents. The good ones try to cover theirs up. The great ones use theirs. Use your weakness.
Plot
Melanie Daniel lives in a run down shack with her six-year old son Tyler in the rural community of Jasper, Arkansas, where she has lived all her life. Being illiterate, Melanie, in order to survive, depends on the money coming into the household from her husband, Carl, who is away in the military in California, who she hasn't seen in two years, and who she believes only married her because he got her pregnant. Believing that Tyler's life with Melanie is a dead end and that he potentially could end up illiterate like her, Carl, on his latest visit home, absconds with Tyler back to California. Melanie's motherly instinct kicks in and despite never having left Jasper and being ill-equipped to do so because of her illiteracy which she tries to hide from everyone, she takes a cross-country bus trip to get Tyler back. She arrives unannounced at the doorstep of her childhood friend Ronda. Ronda shares a house in the Hollywood hills with a musician named Rick, who is facing his own issues concerning dealing with his stalled career. Ronda, Rick and Rick's health conscious lawyer friend Walter all try to help Melanie, and believe the best way for her to get Tyler back and rid herself of her dependency on Carl is to take control of her own life, starting by learning how to read and write. In the process of Melanie trying to regain her and Tyler's collective lives, she may find some romantic happiness which has so far eluded her in her life with Carl. But Carl will not give Tyler up without a fight, even if it means killing Melanie.

The main camp of convicts is controlled by the tyrannical Bobby, who rules with an iron hand, and the women are used as sex slaves. A.J. and a group of more free-minded murderers have escaped and gone into hiding. When A.J. and his men liberate the women from Bobby's custody, tensions mount to an all-out confrontation for control of the island.

He loves the way of her name on his lips
and she loves the sound of his sweet , gentil kiss
the way that his fingers runs true her hair
and how she send lingers even were she's not there
and he loves the way her eyes glance when she laugh
ans how he comforts when even she's upsaid
and how she convences him to dance in the rain
with everyone watchine like they were insane
they are two agents in love
they don't know , they don't care
but while their together,
the love keeps burning on...
they have something special,
that nobody haves
they just need to know
their friendship is real..
Imagine what a fool you could have made of me
Just think of what you are doing to my pride.
You run around and love a lot and never know
The good you have got.
Away you go and away you've been
But don't you koow you are living in a . . .
Fairytale
I do believe that you believe
Your fairytale
Imagining it's happening they do come true
But you only alone believe that too.
You're walking on a tight rope but you'd better know
There is no one there to catch you if you fall.
But I understand what's in your mind
And now you're waiting right behind
I should have known it from the start
I'd only be another part of your . . .
Fairytale
I do believe that you believe
It's morning
And we've slept the night away
It happened
Now we can't turn back the hands of time
Yes we've stolen this moment
We've forgot about one simple fact
We both belong to someone else
As we slept the night away
Chorus
As we lay
We forgot about tomorrow as we lay
As we lay
Didn't think about the price we had to pay
It's morning
And now it's time for us to say good-bye (good-bye)
(Good-bye, baby) you're leaving me
I know you gotta hurry home and face your wife
I would never never wanna hurt her (never, baby)
She would never ever ever understand
You belong to me for just one night
As we slept the night away
Chorus
We should of captured all of our thoughts
But instead we got lost
In the second
In the minute
