Three old college mates from Tijuana meet every year to chat about life and catch up. They opposite poles, one being a rocker philosopher and the other a conservative and godly person. Their respect for each other and mutual appreciation make this old friendship possible. One of them goes through a sudden crisis that that will send them on a physical road trip as well as one through memory lane. Even though these are friends from very diverse backgrounds and ideologies that normally renege their lot in life for not having access to the American dream since they are so close in Tijuana just a stone throw away, this new situation helps them reflect and be appreciative of the things they do have.

The South African Gymnastics Federation has a new CEO and he will have to hit the ground running to keep up with development of the sport in the country. South Africa has had a poor showing at international competitions in this sporting code due to various challenges. Gymnasts often struggle with resources, coaching and sponsorship. Tsheko Mokgosi takes over from Elizabeth Cameron Smith, who resigned from the organization. Mogotsi's gymnastics journey began at the tender age of 10 years in the North West Province, as a tumbling gymnast. His tumbling skills progressed over the years, resulting in Mogotsi being crowned SA National Open Tumbling Champion for 15 consecutive years, from 1990 - 2004. In this time he achieved a World ranking of number 1 for Tumbling, won bronze at the 1997 and silver at the 2001 World Games; won Team Silver at the 2001 World Championships and Silver at the 1996 World Championships. The vast majority of Lux Radio Theater episodes are American productions from the 1930s through the 1950s. ComicWeb's Youtube channel features old movie cliffhanger serials and old time radio programs. Visit www.comicweb.com for more! The Lux Radio Theater Program started in 1934 in New York. The original idea was to take broadway plays and dramatize them for radio. It may have been a good idea, but it didn’t work. The producers had a hard time finding good adaptable plays, and the public was not responding. The program needed to be revamped or it would be canceled. So, they packed their bags and headed for Hollywood. Lux Radio Theater decided to do their show big and glitzy, getting the biggest names, the most glamorous stars, to become the talk of the town. The show hired Cecil B. DeMille, he of the biggest. Epics. Ever. in Hollywood. as the producer host (in reality, he was more just the host than the producer). DeMille was famous for his “the show must go on” attitude, he once showed up for a show in an ambulance, and recited his lines from a cot. The first Hollywood production by Lux Theater, The Legionnaire, starred Clark Gable and Marlene Dietrich. Other stars to appear in the next few weeks were, William Powell and Myrna Loy in the Thin Man, Al Jolson in The Jazz Singer, Lionel Barrymore, in the Voice o Bugle Ann, Spencer Tracy, in Men in White, Gary Cooper, in Mr. Deeds Goes to Town and more. The show started with the biggest stars in Hollywood and continued to get them throughout the run. Other stars included: Robert Taylor, Cary Grant, Humphrey Bogart, Barbara Stanwyck, Joan Crawford, and many, many more. The showed aired on Monday nights, and each production was treated like an opening night for a movie. The show was taped at the Music Box Theater on Hollywood Boulevard, with big lights and a flashy show. It was an event to go and a sign that an actor had made it if they were on. The shows would often have 50 people working for each episode. (Simply an unheard of number.) The show lasted until 1955. Not a bad run considering it was almost cancelled a year after it started in 1934, and all just to sell Lux brand soap.

Gopala also plays the character Adam in the Short Film Lilith: Genesis One which won the Film category at the 2015 PPC Imaginarium Awards. Gopala has been a regular participant at The National Arts Festival performing in Boys in the Backroom (2008), Three Wall Temple (2009), Like Show Business (2010), The History Boys (2011), Cry Havoc (2013) and directing Barbe Bleue (2014/ 2015). In 2011 he toured South Africa with Pieter Toerien’s Naledi Award winning The History Boys (directed by Alan Swerdlow). Gopala has lectured in various tertiary institutes and is currently researching the construction of time and space in intermedial performance, as the basis of his Master’s degree.

Established in 1911, the gang is divided into three factions: the 26s, the 27s and the 28s. Each arm of the gang serves a different purpose. The 26s are responsible for getting cash, the 27s are the law-keepers and the 28s are the warriors. The Numbers Gang is particularly dangerous because of its influence in the prison system and the level of violence the gang demands of their members, being notorious for attacks on prison guards and warders. In Pollsmoor Prison, up to 50 percent of warders have been stabbed or cut. The gang often demands these attacks of new members to prove their loyalty. The leader of the Pollsmoor Prison 28s is John Mongrel. Mongrel is thought to be responsible for as many as 1,000 killings. The gang is extremely organized, and if members violate the rules, then it will conduct an investigation and “trial”. If the verdict is death, the member is often asphyxiated or has their throat slit. For less serious crimes, the member will have a cut made in their anus in order to let blood, and will then be raped by an inmate who is HIV positive. The transfer of prisoners between South African jails allows the gang’s influence and control to spread.

There are clear connections in terms of practice with magazine and newspaper feature-writing and indeed to non-fiction literature. Many of the generic forms of documentary, for example the biopic or profile; or the observational piece.
