Plot
New York parapsychologist Philip Devlin loses his wife in a tragic auto accident, and he himself suffers from severe memory loss. One of the few people he can still remember from his past is a Berlin physician, Dr. Wiemer. Philip and a German colleague, Dr. Horst Glockner, who is researching into parapsychological phenomena at the university, decide to go and visit Wiemer. At his home, however, a horrible surprise is in store for them: they find Dr. Wiemer lying on the floor, dead, and at his side a mentally deranged French woman, Jeanne, who seems to have murdered him. Jeanne tells them an incredible story: she says that Wiemer stole her baby, and that its father had been an extraterrestrial. Devlin persuades Dr. Glockner's team of researchers to investigate this case -- not least of all because he hopes to find some clue to his own past and to the weird visions that have been plaguing him for some time now. German police inspector Sabra Busch is against this interference at first, but soon decides to cooperate with Philip, to whom she feels increasingly attracted. When they both discover that a CIA agent was independently involved in shady dealings with the doctor and then murdered him, their lives are suddenly in the greatest danger. Jeanne, whose unbelievable story may actually have been true, is murdered shortly afterwards. The CIA make the death look like suicide and remove all clues, so that the case can never be officially cleared up. Philip has worked out the true reasons for his accident, however: the CIA, aware of his knowledge of secret UFO research, wanted him out of the way once and for all.

Does it matter how?
Does it matter when?
If you market yourself for blood, How do you come back?
She sees red at night. No one knows.
She sees red at night. No one...
If she chooses girls, If she chooses guys,
Does she profit to fill her lungs?
I want to hold her breath.
Does it matter what? She sees red at night. Does it matter where? No one knows. If she markets herself for blood...
