After a very long time, I did not find the books for part 2 of the mid year review and I did not get this together as neatly as I had hoped due to a few technical issues and plenty of emotional ones clouding my creative motivation.
What a relief at last to have it done though! Must warn you, more than half of this is a tangent about twilight hatemobs, but it DOES actually review some aspects of the book itself so WATCH IT TO THE END to get all the content (and help me get some watched hours up! tah!).
Next video is most likely going to be an art related one but we will see.

My first video doing commentary, or book reviews for that matter. Also my first time learning to edit video footage in adobe premiere pro. I'm terrifically awkward but attempted to compensate for this with my newfound interest in editing.
None of this is in-depth, it's just a scan through some of the books I've read this year so far, an overview. I may attempt to do a second half to this racing through the rest of the books from this year's pile so far, if nothing too terrible happens from posting this one.
I'm still making time-lapse and illustration based work as well, so if you're here wondering what happened, don't worry, I'm just diversifying (which I do realise is generally not recommended on social media but oh well). I am considering doing individual reviews of books and games in combination with painting videos and maybe tutorials and just see how things go really.
Some of the books here have mature language on the covers, if that's an issue for you I advise you to avoid this, however nothing here is something I would deem "too adult" in terms of it's intentions as a text, and I figure all of these were books that I got from average, public bookshop shelves, where theoretically anyone could happen along and pick them up and look through them.

They are commonly seen in grassy areas of northern and eastern Australia. The Red-backed-Fairy-wren is among the least faithful birds in the world, with extra-pair mating commonplace — the result is that the eggs in any given nest are often fathered by various different birds. These fairy-wrens are often seen in flocks, with one colourful bird surrounded by a bevy of brown ones, which comprise females, males in non-breeding plumage and young birds.
The Red-backed Fairy-wren is the smallest of Australia’s fairy-wrens. Males are glossy black with a striking red patch on the back and rump. Like most other fairy-wrens, when in non-breeding plumage they are brown above and off white below. Females and juvenile birds also have brown upperparts above and whitish underparts.
Similar Species :
Adult males are unmistakable when in breeding plumage, but females, males in non-breeding plumage and young birds could be mistaken for Variegated and Superb Fairy-wrens in similar brown plumages.

Maluridae
Maluridae is a family of small, insectivorous passerine birds endemic to Australia and New Guinea. Commonly known as wrens, they are unrelated to the true wrens of the Northern Hemisphere. The family includes 15 species of fairywren, 3 emu-wrens, and 11 grasswrens.
Description
Malurids are small to medium birds, inhabiting a wide range of environments, from rainforest to desert, although most species inhabit grassland or scrub. The grasswrens are well camouflaged with black and brown patterns, but other species often have brilliantly coloured plumage, especially in the males.
They are insectivorous, typically foraging in underbrush. They build domed nests in areas of dense vegetation, and it is not unusual for the young to remain in the nest and assist in raising chicks from later clutches.
Fairywrens are notable for several peculiar behavioral characteristics. They are socially monogamous and sexually promiscuous, meaning that although they form pairs between one male and one female, each partner will mate with other individuals and even assist in raising the young from such pairings. Males of several species pluck petals of conspicuous colors and display them to females for reasons unknown.

After a very long time, I did not find the books for part 2 of the mid year review and I did not get this together as neatly as I had hoped due to a few technical issues and plenty of emotional ones clouding my creative motivation.
What a relief at last to have it done though! Must warn you, more than half of this is a tangent about twilight hatemobs, but it DOES actually review some aspects of the book itself so WATCH IT TO THE END to get all the content (and help me get some watched hours up! tah!).
Next video is most likely going to be an art related one but we will see.

My first video doing commentary, or book reviews for that matter. Also my first time learning to edit video footage in adobe premiere pro. I'm terrifically awkward but attempted to compensate for this with my newfound interest in editing.
None of this is in-depth, it's just a scan through some of the books I've read this year so far, an overview. I may attempt to do a second half to this racing through the rest of the books from this year's pile so far, if nothing too terrible happens from posting this one.
I'm still making time-lapse and illustration based work as well, so if you're here wondering what happened, don't worry, I'm just diversifying (which I do realise is generally not recommended on social media but oh well). I am considering doing individual reviews of books and games in combination with painting videos and maybe tutorials and just see how things go really.
Some of the books here have mature language on the covers, if that's an issue for you I advise you to avoid this, however nothing here is something I would deem "too adult" in terms of it's intentions as a text, and I figure all of these were books that I got from average, public bookshop shelves, where theoretically anyone could happen along and pick them up and look through them.

Red-backed-Fairy-wren (Malurus melanocephalus Maluridae)
“While many of Australia’s fairy-wrens feature various shades of blue in their plumage, the Red-backed Fairy-wren is equally as striking, but with an eye-catching patch of red feathers on its back and rump, contrasting with the rest of the plumage, which is glossy black. They are commonly seen in grassy areas of northern and eastern Australia. The Red-backed-Fairy-wren is among the least faithful birds in the world, with extra-pair mating commonplace — the result is that the eggs in any given nest are often fathered by various different birds. These fairy-wrens are often seen in flocks, with one colourful bird surrounded by a bevy of brown ones, which comprise females, males in non-breeding plumage and young birds.
The Red-backed Fairy-wren is the smallest of Australia’s fairy-wrens. Males are glossy black with a striking red patch on the back and rump. Like most other fairy-wrens, when in non-breeding plumage they are brown above and off white below. Females and juvenile birds also have brown upperparts above and whitish underparts.
Similar Species :
Adult males are unmistakable when in breeding plumage, but females, males in non-breeding plumage and young birds could be mistaken for Variegated and Superb Fairy-wrens in similar brown plumages.

The splendid fairywren (Malurus splendens) is a passerine bird in the Australasian wren family, Maluridae. It is also known simply as the splendid wren or more colloquially in Western Australia as the blue wren.
Maluridae
Maluridae is a family of small, insectivorous passerine birds endemic to Australia and New Guinea. Commonly known as wrens, they are unrelated to the true wrens of the Northern Hemisphere. The family includes 15 species of fairywren, 3 emu-wrens, and 11 grasswrens.
Description
Malurids are small to medium birds, inhabiting a wide range of environments, from rainforest to desert, although most species inhabit grassland or scrub. The grasswrens are well camouflaged with black and brown patterns, but other species often have brilliantly coloured plumage, especially in the males.
They are insectivorous, typically foraging in underbrush. They build domed nests in areas of dense vegetation, and it is not unusual for the young to remain in the nest and assist in raising chicks from later clutches.
Fairywrens are notable for several peculiar behavioral characteristics. They are socially monogamous and sexually promiscuous, meaning that although they form pairs between one male and one female, each partner will mate with other individuals and even assist in raising the young from such pairings. Males of several species pluck petals of conspicuous colors and display them to females for reasons unknown.
