Normandy (French: Normandie, pronounced [nɔʁ.mɑ̃.di], Norman: Nourmaundie, from Old French Normanz, plural of Normand, originally from the word for "northman" in several Scandinavian languages) is a geographical region corresponding to the former Duchy of Normandy. The continental territory covers 30,627 km² and forms the preponderant part of Normandy and roughly 5% of the territory of France. It is divided for administrative purposes into two regions: Lower Normandy and Upper Normandy. The Channel Islands (referred to as Îles Anglo-Normandes in French) are historically part of Normandy, cover 194 km² and comprise two bailiwicks: Guernsey and Jersey, which are British Crown Dependencies.
Upper Normandy (Haute-Normandie) consists of the French departments of Seine-Maritime and Eure, and Lower Normandy (Basse-Normandie) of the departments of Orne, Calvados, and Manche. The former province of Normandy comprised present-day Upper and Lower Normandy, as well as small areas now part of the départements of Eure-et-Loir, Mayenne, and Sarthe. The name of Normandy is derived from the settlement of the territory by Vikings ("Northmen") from the 9th century, and confirmed by treaty in the 10th century. For a century and a half following the Norman Conquest of England in 1066, Normandy and England were linked by Norman and Frankish rulers.
Elizabeth II (Elizabeth Alexandra Mary; born 21 April 1926) is the constitutional monarch of 16 sovereign states known as the Commonwealth realms, and head of the 54-member Commonwealth of Nations. She is also head of state of the Crown Dependencies.
Elizabeth was born in London, and educated privately at home. Her father acceded to the throne as George VI in 1936 on the abdication of his brother Edward VIII. She began to undertake public duties during the Second World War, in which she served in the Auxiliary Territorial Service. On the death of her father in 1952, she became Head of the Commonwealth and queen regnant of seven independent Commonwealth countries: the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan, and Ceylon. Her coronation service in 1953 was the first to be televised. Between 1956 and 1992, the number of her realms varied as territories gained independence and some realms became republics. Today, in addition to the first four aforementioned countries, Elizabeth is Queen of Jamaica, Barbados, the Bahamas, Grenada, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Belize, Antigua and Barbuda, and Saint Kitts and Nevis.

We drove through misty canyons
Our destination seemed resolved
But through high beams, tragedy called
It seemed a normal evening
We rode in silent walls between
Our wills like guillotines
I sped on mountain roads as
Your words came piercing through my chest
I'm your usual suspect
I turned my head in defense
That's when I heard you crash
And siren screams like rival factions
Two stories are told
We never knew at any moment
We just might implode
They're watching you crashing into
Crashing into me
And wishing they had what we see
Had what we see, had what we believe
We were magnetic fields
When we came together long ago
You glowed like burning halos
We spent a lifetime on the
Beaches of Normandy in vain
What for I can't explain
I looked to you from the darkened highway
Facing you in tears
And in that moment, metal twisted
And you disappeared
They're watching you crashing into
Crashing into me
And wishing they had what we see
Had what we see, had what we feel
They're watching you crashing into
Crashing into me
And wishing they had what we see
Had what we see, had what we believe
A fatal evening's drive is what
They always will assume
But I know better as I collide
Face first with you
They're watching you crashing into
Crashing into me
And wishing they had what we see
Had what we see, had what we feel
They're watching you crashing into
Crashing into me
And wishing they had what we see
Minstrel & Jester:
Normandy
Is fine and fair,
So Normandy is where we’ll go
Minstrel:
I can show you a beach where the peach blossom blows
And I know how to reach, a man who knows, a man who knows
A cozy Inn,
Jester:
A friendly place
Minsrel & Jester
With rows of windows facing the sea!
This time of year
The air I hear is rare and clear and warm, in Normandy!
Minstrel:
I know a meadow covered with mustard flowers,
Golden as the sun,
Where wondrous things can happen
When an April day is done.
There’s a moment after the sunset
When the sky is suddenly green
And the world stands hused and waiting
For the first white stars to convene.
When you see that em’rald sky
You’ll know the reason why
There’s not another place I’d rather be.
Jester:
Keep you Eldorado!
Minstrel & Jester:
And to Hell with Burgundy!
Come Fly with me!
Jester:
Come try those wings,
Minstrel & Jester:
Come swift for we have things to do!
Larken:
Is there truly a beach where the peach blossom blows?
Are you sure you can reach, That man who knows, that man who knows
That cozy Inn…
Minstrel:
There’s Jessamine and…
Larken:
…That friendly place…
Jester:
White Lilac Lace and
Minstrel & Jester:
…Rows of windows facing the sea!
All three:
This time of year the air, I hear, is rare and clear…
Larken:
…And warm.
Minstrel & Jester:
Don’t be afraid…
Larken:
It’s warm…
Minstrel & Jester:
Heaven was made…
All three:
…In Normandy!
