Baia (Hungarian: Moldvabánya; Latin: Civitas Moldaviae) is a commune in the Suceava County, Romania with a population of 6,793 (2002 census). It is composed of two villages, Baia and Bogata. Located on the Moldova River, it was one of the earliest urban settlements in Moldavia, originally inhabited by Germans. The Hungarian name literally means "The mine", but it's also possible that the Hungarian name was borowed from Romanian and not viceversa, since no mine was ever attested or discovered in the area. It is possible that it derives from the term "Bania" (from Ban, a political leader).
An earlier name of the settlement was Târgul Moldovei which literally means "Market of Moldavia", referring to the Moldova River. Its Hungarian name was Moldvabánya, "the Moldova mine". It also had a Latin name, Civitas Moldaviae which was found on an early seal of the city.
The earliest mention of the town was in Poland in 1335, when a certain merchant was mentioned by the name of "Alexa Moldaowicz" (i.e. Alexa from the Town of Moldavia) and the next was in 1345, when Baia is placed on a list of towns of the Franciscan missionaries.

Tulcea (Romanian pronunciation: [ˈtult͡ʃe̯a]; Bulgarian, Russian and Ukrainian: Тулча, Tulcha; Greek: Aegyssus, Turkish: Hora-Tepé or Tolçu) is a city in Dobrogea, Romania. It is the administrative center of Tulcea county, and has a population of 92,379 as of 2007. One village, Tudor Vladimirescu, is administered by the city.
Tulcea was founded in the 7th century BC[citation needed] under the name of Aegyssus, mentioned in the documents of Diodorus of Sicily (3rd century BC). In his Ex Ponto, Ovid recorded a local tradition that ascribed its name to a mythical founder, Aegisos the Caspian.
After the fights from 12-15 B.C., the Romans conquered the town. They rebuilt it after their plans, their technique and architectural vision, reorganizing it. The fortified town was mentioned as late as the 10th century, in documents such as Notitia Episcopatuum or De Thematibus.
Under Byzantine rule beginning with the 5th century CE, the town was abandoned by the first half of the 7th century due to the Barbarian invasions. The former settlement's territory fell under the rule of the Bulgarian Empire (681-c.1000; 1185-14th century). Inhabitation was restored in the second half of the 10th century, as the Byzantines built a fortress on the spot after reconquering the region. The fortress was soon destroyed in 1064 by an attack of the Uzes, however some inhabitation continued. A settlement, larger than the one in the 11th century, is archaeologically attested beginning with the 14th century. The Ottoman rule was imposed around 1420, and would last for the following four centuries.

In 1868 an iron structure with clanking steam elevators was inaugurated, replaced by an electric system in 1928. The second largest island of the Mediterranean managed to keep some of its natural, untouched beauty, which is more and more rare in modern Europe. Large herds of goat and sheep are grazing on the scarcely inhabited Campidoro plain. Here thearchaic patoral culture still lives on. In the Giara di Gesturi National Park a stud of 1500 horses lives completely free. There are almost 8 thousand ‘nurages’, ancient megalithic stone buildings built around 2000 BC. The black diorite, polished by the sea and the wind and the grey granite rocks stand out ouf the blue sea. The island is covered with macchia, a fragrant bush, between them there is myrtle, thyme, rosemary and lavender. The landscape is full of olive trees, cork, almond trees and grape. The narrow alleys of the old towns are edged by Sardinian and Toscan style buildings. If we add to this the beautiful stalactite caves, the monuments of Cagliari, the wild coast of Costa Smeralda, and the magnificent beaches, we can say that Sardinia is the nature lovers’ paradise and a place for an idillic vacation.

This hotel just keeps winning awards on Tripadvisor and other travel websites. Built in 2009 we thought we would pay it a visit. This is a 5 ***** Platinum all inclusive spa resort. Tripadvisors top hotel 2012 and 2013.
The hotel is very impressive,and like many of the top hotels it's the staff that give it the edge. Room safe, room minibar are free. Air-conditioning is only on in the summer, and is at the manager discretion, making it hot at night in your room here which is a real problem. Many things are scaled down in winter but the price reflects tat at £500 approx for two people for 1 week including flights and transfers from the UK. One a la cart restaurant is open currently, its 10 euros each cover charge. One outdoor pool is heated in winter with one indoor heated pool. Germany accounts for 50% of guests with 15% coming from the U.K. Make sure you ask for a sea-view room, and if you want to be near a friend arrange it before you travel, reception in Turkey don't seem to be able to do this on site. Rooms are smoking ! Euros seem to be preferred over Turkish Lira here even at the markets. Good entertainment, as well as Disco and 10 pin bowling, see other videos we have shot on the hotel. A local bus is 2 lira (60p) irrespective of distance traveled. Odd system to pay the driver, you give the money to the people in the seat in front, they pass it on to the next until the driver sends back change the same way. Amazing !! Let me know how you found this resort of Turkey in general. - Tracey. PS - As many have asked you can't drink the water
