Azuchi (安土町, Azuchi-chō) was a town located in Gamō District, Shiga Prefecture, Japan.
As of 2003, the town had an estimated population of 12,217 and a density of 502.76 persons per km². The total area was 24.30 km².
On March 21, 2010, Azuchi was merged into the expanded city of Ōmihachiman.
The town is well known for the ruins of Azuchi Castle of Oda Nobunaga, the 16th century ruler of Japan. The period in the history of Japan approximately between 1568 and 1603 is called Azuchi-Momoyama period. Azuchi Castle ruins remain for the temple Soken-ji donated by Oda Nobunaga. He also established the oldest Christian Seminary in Japan, and its ruins are now a small public park.
Azuchi Station of The Biwako Line railway provides public transportation to the town.
The National Highway Route 8 passes through the town.

Azuchi Castle (安土城, Azuchi-jō) was one of the primary castles of Oda Nobunaga. It was built from 1576 to 1579, on the shores of Lake Biwa, in Ōmi Province. Nobunaga intentionally built it close enough to Kyoto that he could watch over and guard the approaches to the capital, but, being outside the city, his fortress would be immune to the fires and conflicts that occasionally consumed the capital. This location was also quite strategically advantageous, in managing the communications and transportation routes between his greatest foes - the Uesugi clan to the north, Takeda clan in the east, and Mōri clan to the west.
Unlike earlier castles and fortresses, Azuchi was not intended to be solely a military structure, cold, dark, and foreboding. Nobunaga intended it as a lavish mansion, which would impress and intimidate his rivals, not only with its defenses, but with its lavish apartments and decorations, and flourishing town and religious life. The keep, called tenshu (or tenshukaku), rather than being the center of the castle's defences, was a seven-story building containing audience halls, private chambers, offices, and a treasury, as though it were a royal palace. In addition to being one of the first Japanese castles with a tower keep, Azuchi was unique in that its uppermost story was octagonal. In addition, the facade of Azuchi, unlike the solid white or black of other castles, was colorfully decorated with tigers and dragons.
A castle (from Latin: castellum) is a type of fortified structure built in Europe and the Middle East during the Middle Ages by nobility. Scholars debate the scope of the word castle, but usually consider it to be the private fortified residence of a lord or noble. This is distinct from a palace, which is not fortified; from a fortress, which was not always a residence for nobility; and from a fortified settlement, which was a public defence – though there are many similarities among these types of construction. Usage of the term has varied over time and has been applied to structures as diverse as hill forts and country houses. Over the approximately 900 years that castles were built, they took on a great many forms with many different features, although some, such as curtain walls and arrowslits, were commonplace.
A European innovation, castles originated in the 9th and 10th centuries, after the fall of the Carolingian Empire resulted in its territory being divided among individual lords and princes. These nobles built castles to control the area immediately surrounding them, and were both offensive and defensive structures; they provided a base from which raids could be launched as well as protection from enemies. Although their military origins are often emphasised in castle studies, the structures also served as centres of administration and symbols of power. Urban castles were used to control the local populace and important travel routes, and rural castles were often situated near features that were integral to life in the community, such as mills and fertile land.
Japanese art covers a wide range of art styles and media, including ancient pottery, sculpture, ink painting and calligraphy on silk and paper, ukiyo-e paintings and woodblock prints, kiri-e, kirigami, origami, and more recently manga—modern Japanese cartooning and comics—along with a myriad of other types of works of art. It has a long history, ranging from the beginnings of human habitation in Japan, sometime in the 10th millennium BC, to the present.
Historically, Japan has been subject to sudden invasions of new and alien ideas followed by long periods of minimal contact with the outside world. Over time the Japanese developed the ability to absorb, imitate, and finally assimilate those elements of foreign culture that complemented their aesthetic preferences. The earliest complex art in Japan was produced in the 7th and 8th centuries in connection with Buddhism. In the 9th century, as the Japanese began to turn away from China and develop indigenous forms of expression, the secular arts became increasingly important; until the late 15th century, both religious and secular arts flourished. After the Ōnin War (1467–1477), Japan entered a period of political, social, and economic disruption that lasted for over a century. In the state that emerged under the leadership of the Tokugawa shogunate, organized religion played a much less important role in people's lives, and the arts that survived were primarily secular.
Samurai Warriors (戦国無双, Sengoku Musō, Sengoku Musou in Japan, lit. Unrivaled Warring States) is the first title in the series of hack and slash video games created by Koei's Omega Force team based loosely around the Sengoku ("Warring States") period of Japanese history and it is a sister series of the Dynasty Warriors series, released for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox in 2004. A port of this game called Samurai Warriors: State of War has been released for the PlayStation Portable, which includes additional multiplayer features.
In the basic gameplay of Samurai Warriors, the player takes the role of a single officer in battle and must fend off hordes of enemy soldiers and defeat the enemy commander. The player has at their disposal a range of combo attacks and crowd-clearing special moves known as Musou attacks. The variety of attacks available increase as the character increases in level and gains new weapons.
Musou attacks can only be performed when the character's Musou gauge has filled up, which does so gradually when the player inflicts or receives damage. Additionally, if the player is low on health or possess a special skill, they can use their special True Musou attack which causes elemental damage in addition to normal damage as well as adds on a trio of attacks that cleans up the final few enemies in the vicinity. One difference between Samurai Warriors and Dynasty Warriors is the ability to perform free-style combo attacks during Musou attack mode, during which the game enters bullet-time; common soldiers move very slowly, however officers are unaffected. Other abilities that Samurai characters have over the Dynasty series include the ability to perform a roll to dodge attacks, and deflect incoming arrows with their weapon.

Sengoku Basara 4 is a single player Hack and Slash game, set in fantastical version of Japan's warring state's period. The game plays similarly to a Dynasty Warriors game or other Warrior Style games. Players choose characters from a diverse roster to face out against entire battlefields of enemies by themselves. The gameplay is accessible enough so that any player can jump in to the action, but rewards players for mixing up their combos by offering them more gold or power. This installment introduces new mechanics to the series while retaining older mechanics from previous games. New Features: Tag mode will be available. But I choose not to frequently tag my parter in, I want the playthrough to be dedicated to my main character. Weapon parameters can be increased to 3,000 for each stat b...

Like the main series, Spirit of Sanada explores and romanticizes the Sengoku period of Japan, a period of political and military conflict involving the daimyo and their clans raising armies to fight against each other for power. While the main series features multiple viewpoints involving different factions, Spirit of Sanada focuses on one particular clan, the Sanada, who are led by Masayuki and his sons, Nobuyuki and Yukimura during the Sengoku period. The game's timeline is roughly 54 years (from 1561 to 1615) and follows different incarnations of the main characters, who are aged up accordingly. The game retains the basic hack and slash play of the main series. The player controls a character through a specific battlefield against an army of enemy soldiers with the ultimate objective o...

This is one of my favorite stages, cuz Azuchi is awesome and this one pits you against two forces. The stage is slightly different depending on which gate you go through first, resulting in either Keiji or Ieyasu having a stronger defense and also affects if either Nobunaga or Magoichi try to use a fire attack in Azuchi.

Freaking love Azuchi, but it's more fitting when Nobunaga is the enemy. Still I like this stage quite a bit. Nobunaga is left with only Oichi and Ranmaru to help him take Azuchi back so it's mostly you doing all the work.

Hi, In this video we are going to play Nioh. Here I will show you the easy way how to: 1. Farm amrita into a friendly environment. I feel like helping the guys out when down, and they help you as well is more fun than farm alone. This area is quite nice for farming divine armor as well. Just equip yourself with best spirit, blessing and gear. Could be much easy if you play with a partner higher level than yourself missions. 2. How to beat all this region bosses. I use kusarigama since is the only weapon that reminds me good of ninja gaiden. Also I find it quite strong against Yokai. Please take note that I play quite bad , my level is around 140 here and already have Saoire with me upgraded to level 30. If you die just use a sumonner's candle. Thanks for watching and good hunting.
This is a siege battle, meaning once you complete the field battle you go inside the castle following and have to clear the floors in it. In the field you can end the battle very early by defeating Kenshin when he appears, as this will cause him to join your side and Nobunaga retreats into the castle immediately. Inside the castle, Azuchi is the longest castle leaving you with 6 floors to clear with a fight against Nobunaga at the end.

It's been a while, and now the Oda are in complete control. Mago decides to go commando, shirtless scene and all, and make a daring raid on Nobunaga's home castle. And that's Mago's storyline done! As mentioned in the previous video, Mago doesn't initially unlock anyone, but is one of the characters that you need to complete story mode with in order to unlock Nobunaga himself. Next time, I'll be controlling a much more loyal vassel of the Oda... Thanks for Watching! With the rebellion of Mitsuhide now quashed underfoot, Nobunaga's back in full control of everything... Except people still hate his guts and want to assassinate him. Ranmaru now has a messy job ahead of him. Note that if you fail any "find and eliminate the assassin" missions on a floor, that assassin will appear on the final floor going after Nobunaga. Completing this (or the upper path battle, whichever you do first) for the first time will unlock Noh as a playable character. Thanks for Watching! Nobunaga thwarted Mitsuhie's plans. but now that impudent wretch has gone and taken Nobunaga's castle at Azuchi... He should probably pay for that. This is the last Siege stage in the game that we'll be seeing unless I decide to do a custom character campaign. It's not going to be the last inside a castle stage, but I don't mind Inside castle stages on their own to be honest. Thanks for Watching! In this Episode, Nobunaga has hold himself up in the "Demon Castle" after his defeat at Nagashino. Meanwhile, it seems that Shingen is quickly being chased down by a "White Shadow." Gee I wonder who THAT could be? This is the Battle where Shingen's story can Deviate. This video is gonna show how to unlock the Upper Path. I'll be showing how to unlock the lower path later. This level (including the Inside the Castle section) took me well over an hour... mainly due to requiring to babysit Mitsuhide as part of getting the Upper Path to unlock because of how the AI works in these sorts of games. I really don't like missions in this game (or in any of the Warriors games for that matter) that does this. Also about the Supply team that spawns after beating Keji: if you can catch up to them a...
