The Morobe Show Pikinini and Morobe Show Queen Contests were a hit at the 2013 Morobe Show with impressive individual performances, thanks to the Lae Biscuit Company for giving these young Papua New Guineans an opportunity to take pride in and display their cultural heritage. Both performances were judged by a team of volunteers. The Pikinini Contest is for kids between 9 and 13 years. At the 2013 Morobe Show, five young Papua New Guineans participated. The 2nd runner up was Minica Pokita The 1st runner up was Joseph The winner of the Pikinini Contest 2013 Morobe Show was Tilam Belingi The first three place getters walked away with cash prizes and all other contestants received a generous gift pack from Lae Biscuit. The Morobe Show Queen is a competition for young women, aged 14 years and above. The Show Queen Contest is aimed at supporting and protecting the traditional Papua New Guinean culture, with the young women being judged on their knowledge and presentation of their traditional dress, as well as their grooming and personality. • Encouragement Award – Shirley Sonensing, Meyamya • 2nd Runner-UP – Sharon Ondava, Oro • 1st Runner-Up – Asuweng Tomogo, Madang • 2013 Morobe Show Queen – Adel Batha, Simbu
