Earth (or the Earth) is the third planet from the Sun, and the densest and fifth-largest of the eight planets in the Solar System. It is also the largest of the Solar System's four terrestrial planets. It is sometimes referred to as the world, the Blue Planet, or by its Latin name, Terra.
Earth formed approximately 4.54 billion years ago by accretion from the solar nebula, and life appeared on its surface within one billion years. The planet is home to millions of species, including humans. Earth's biosphere has significantly altered the atmosphere and other abiotic conditions on the planet, enabling the proliferation of aerobic organisms as well as the formation of the ozone layer which, together with Earth's magnetic field, blocks harmful solar radiation, permitting life on land. The physical properties of the Earth, as well as its geological history and orbit, have allowed life to persist. The planet is expected to continue supporting life for another 500 million to 2.3 billion years.
A brief description of the different kinds of elements that can change the Earth's surface (rapid or slow) such as water, wind, & natural disasters.

We attached a camera to an elevator in one of the Delaware Aqueduct bypass shafts. Here's what it captured along its 373 foot ride up.
The two Delaware Aqueduct bypass shafts will be 900 and 700 feet deep when they are finished, and will provide access for construction crews to build a bypass tunnel around a leaking section of the Delaware Aqueduct. The bypass—one of the most complex repair projects in the history of the NYC water supply—is scheduled to be complete in 2023.

What is Antipodes?
A documentary report all about Antipodes for the blind and visually impaired or for homework/assignment.
In geography, the antipodes (; from Greek: ἀντίποδες, from anti- "opposed" and pous "foot") of any place on Earth is the point on the Earth's surface which is diametrically opposite to it. Two points that are antipodal to each other are connected by a straight line running through the centre of the Earth.

Flat Earth - Upcoming Ultimate Surface Test Flat or Curve? I Need Your Input
I will be testing the earths surface with no mathematical calculations involved with the best in my opinion, place possible. One conduit with a light, the other with a scope or transit, both level at Approx. 5 miles apart hopefully more. To me the best test is without being manipulated with various mathematical equations, since allot of us see math as another language when it starts involving alphabets in the equation. Both poles will be plumb and level and will verify with video of the process with continual video showing Long/Lat from light source to survey point. Input is appreciated.

Cosmos Odyssey - The Moon
The Moon is Earth's only natural satellite. It is one of the largest natural satellites in the Solar System, and, among planetary satellites, the largest relative to the size of the planet it orbits. It is the second-densest satellite among those whose densities are known.
The Moon is thought to have formed approximately 4.5 billion years ago, not long after Earth. There are several hypotheses for its origin; the most widely accepted explanation is that the Moon formed from the debris left over after a giant impact between Earth and a Mars-sized body called Theia.
The Moon is in synchronous rotation with Earth, always showing the same face wi

"Carbon dioxide" is an important trace gas in "Earth's atmosphere" currently constituting about 0.04% of the atmosphere. Despite its relatively small concentration, is a potent greenhouse gas and plays a vital role in regulating Earth's surface temperature through radiative forcing and the greenhouse effect. Reconstructions show that concentrations of in the atmosphere have varied, ranging from as high as 7,000 parts per million during the Cambrian period about 500 million years ago to as low as 180 parts per million during the Quaternary glaciation of the last two million years.

Space Science Documentary - Extinction of Planet Earth 100 Million Years In The Future Universe BBC Documentary
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The biological and geological future of the Earth can be extrapolated based upon the estimated effects of several long-term influences. These include the chemistry at the Earth's surface, the rate of cooling of the planet's interior, the gravitational interactions with other objects in the Solar System, and a steady increase in the Sun's luminosity. An uncertain factor in this extrapolation is the ongoing influence of technology introduced by humans, such as geoengineering, which could cause significant changes to the planet.[3][4] The current biotic crisis[5] is being caused by technology[6] and the effects may last for up to five million years.[7] In turn, technology may result in the extinction of humanity, leaving the planet to gradually return to a slower evolutionary pace resulting solely from long-term natural processes.[8][9]
Over time intervals of hundreds of millions of years, random celestial events pose a global risk to the biosphere, which can result in mass extinctions. These include impacts by comets or asteroids with diameters of 5–10 km (3.1–6.2 mi) or more, and the possibility of a massive stellar explosion, called a supernova, within a 100-light-year radius of the Sun, called a Near-Earth supernova. Other large-scale geological events are more predictable. If the long-term effects of global warming are disregarded, Milankovitch theory predicts that the planet will continue to undergo glacial periods at least until the quaternary glaciation comes to an end. These periods are caused by eccentricity, axial tilt, and precession of the Earth's orbit. As part of the ongoing supercontinent cycle, plate tectonics will probably result in a supercontinent in 250–350 million years. Some time in the next 1.5–4.5 billion years, the axial tilt of the Earth may begin to undergo chaotic variations, with changes in the axial tilt of up to 90°.
During the next four billion years, the luminosity of the Sun will steadily increase, resulting in a rise in the solar radiation reaching the Earth. This will cause a higher rate of weathering of silicate minerals, which will cause a decrease in the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. In about 600 million years, the level of CO

The Moon is in synchronous rotation with Earth, always showing the same face with its near side marked by dark volcanic maria that fill between the bright ancient crustal highlands and the prominent impact craters. It is the second-brightest regularly visible celestial object in Earth's sky (after the Sun), as measured by illuminance on Earth's surface. Although it can appear a very bright white, its surface is actually dark, with a reflectance just slightly higher than that of worn asphalt. Its prominence in the sky and its regular cycle of phases have, since ancient times, made the Moon an important cultural influence on language, calendars, art, and mythology.

Set in the shattered subway of a post apocalyptic Moscow, Metro 2033 is a story of intensive underground survival where the fate of mankind rests in your hands.
In 2013 the world was devastated by an apocalyptic event, annihilating almost all mankind and turning the earth’s surface into a poisonous wasteland. A handful of survivors took refuge in the depths of the Moscow underground, and human civilization entered a new Dark Age.
The year is 2033. An entire generation has been born and raised underground, and their besieged Metro Station-Cities struggle for survival, with each other, and the mutant horrors that await outside.
You are Artyom, born in the last days before the fire, but raised Underground. Having never ventured beyond your Metro Station-City limits, one fateful event sparks a desperate mission to the heart of the Metro system, to warn the remnants of mankind of a terrible impending threat. Your journey takes you from the forgotten catacombs beneath the subway to the desolate wastelands above, where your actions will determine the fate of mankind.

Carbon dioxide is an integral part of the carbon cycle, a biogeochemical cycle in which carbon is exchanged between the Earth's oceans, soil, rocks and biosphere. The present biosphere of Earth is dependent on atmospheric for its existence. Plants and other photoautotrophs use solar energy to synthesize carbohydrate from atmospheric carbon dioxide and water by photosynthesis. Carbohydrate derived from consumption of plants as food is the primary source of energy and carbon compounds in almost all other organisms.
The current episode of global warming is attributed primarily to increasing industrial emissions into Earth's atmosphere. The global annual mean concentration of in the atmosphere has increased markedly since the Industrial Revolution, from 280 ppm to 400 ppm as of 2015. The present concentration is the highest in the past 800,000 years and likely the highest in the past 20 million years. The increase has been caused by anthropogenic sources, particularly the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation. The daily average concentration of atmospheric CO 2 at Mauna Loa first exceeded 400 ppm on 10 May 2013. It is currently rising at a rate of approximately 2 ppm/year and accelerating. An estimated 30–40% of the released by humans into the atmosphere dissolves into oceans, rivers and lakes. which contributes to ocean acidification.

4.5 billion years ago, an event occurred that changed our planet forever. An object named Theia, about the size of Mars smashed into the young Earth. Theia was partially absorbed by Earth, but a large amount of its debris was thrown out into space. The gravitational force of our planet eventually pulled the debris into orbit and the fragments of the collision begun to gather together. As these clumps of rock grouped, eventually the Moon was formed. This is the leading and most excepted theory on how the moon came to be and is called the Giant Impact Hypothesis.
So What would of happened if that giant collision never occurred? If the moon that we see shining above us in the glistening nights sky wasn't there? Could life on Earth be as vibrant and as diverse as we see today? Would we, the human race even exist?
Without the moon, the earth would be a wildly different place, back then because of the earths fast rotation, a day would only of lasted about 5 hours, compared to the current 24 hours caused by the gravitation force both the earth and the moon exert on each other. This faster rotation would cause winds of up to 200 mph to sweep the Earth’s surface and bigger violent storms would rage in the sky.The Earths tilt would also wobble without the moon to stabilise it, taking away its current predictable, fairly constant climate and seasons. This wobble would cause erratic changes in temperature over thousands of years and different regions would be blasted by heat then covered by ice again. Also the tides we see today, would be dramatically reduced, they would be much smaller, caused only by the sun.But even with these extreme conditions, It is still believed that life of some sort would exist, capable of withstanding extreme temperatures, high winds, small tides and short days. However these life forms, would more than likely be very different to what we have the pleasure of witnessing today. Evolution is a long process, and the smallest of changes in the environment can dramatically alter its course, which might cause Bizarre, almost alien like creatures to arise. Bacterial life can adapt quickly, however complex life forms like humans probably would struggle, as they wouldn't have enough time to evolve and survive the dramatic unforgiving changes in the environment. But if complex life did find away to survive earths hostile surface, evolution might favour short stumpy creatures, because if they stood tall, they would struggle to bare the extreme winds. Constant gale like conditions would make it very loud, creatures would have to communicate in different ways for example colour changes or some sort of limb language. They might of used the strong winds as a method of travel and adaptations could cause some sort sail allowing them to glide though the air. Plant life would also struggle with the high winds and storms, they would have to be short with long routes, ensuring they are not ripped out. The hugely animal populated Jungles and forests wouldn't exist, meaning that creatures couldn't live in trees or be shielded in thick vegetation from the storms.Obviously there isn't any way of knowing what might of been, life might not of ever sparked or it might of found away of adapting perfectly to the moonless Earth that we would consider as hell. But lucky enough for us, a mars sized object did collide with earth and as a result, helped give us the conditions for life to flourish across the entire planet.

NASA | UAVSAR: An Airborne Window on Earth Surface Deformation
The Earth's surface is constantly undergoing surface deformation at the millimeter to meter scale both from natural forces such as earthquakes, volcanoes, and glacier motion and from anthropogenic causes such as oil and ground water pumping. Monitoring these types of deformation both spatially and temporally is integral to developing a better understanding of the underlying physical processes involved. Spaceborne differential radar interferometry has become a central tool over the last two decades for such monitoring, however the time between observations and the geometry of observations is not ideal for a number of scientific applications. Pole Shift : Is Earths Crust Shifting ?
The idea that earth's surface area may at times shift on its mantle, causing radical changes in the geography of the planet that result in the almost total destruction of civilization.
Rand Flem-Ath brings us up to date on their latest findings. He discusses such things as the recent discovery of a gigantic 9,600 year old stone structure at Gobkeli Tepi in Turkey, tells us why so many important ancient structures are located on the same meridian as the Great Pyramid, and why many of them are oriented to a north pole that is fifteen hundred miles away from where true north is today.
Whitley and Rand also talk about recent discoveries that explain why geologically frequent crustal shifts do not result in massive surface changes, and Rand vividly describes just what DOES happen during these shifts, and why they result in such profound destruction.
The cataclysmic pole shift hypothesis suggests that there have been geologically rapid shifts in the relative positions of the modern-day geographic locations of the poles and the axis of rotation of the Earth, creating calamities such as floods and tectonic events.

Past Movements of Continents across the Earth’s Surface and the Ultimate Fate of Humankind
In the Company of Scholars: “Past and Future Movements of Continents Across Earth’s Surface, and a Geologist’s Perspective on the Ultimate Fate of Humankind” by David Evans, February 11, 2014.
Geological science gives a unique perspective on humans' evolving place within the natural world. My research delves into the past motions of continents through billions of years of Earth history. Aside from the academic implications for the inner workings and changing surface environments of our planet, this work also provides a framework for understanding patterns in the distribution of natural resources such as metal ore deposits and fossil fuels. After illustrating the long-term paleogeographic history of our planet, this talk will conclude with speculations on how human society may fare in the not-too-distant future, beyond our current age of unprecedented resource extraction and high standard of living.

Airborne systems can tailor both the flight geometry and time between observations for optimal science return, however airborne differential radar interferometry is more challenging than spaceborne interferometry due to the irregular flight path of an aircraft compared to a spacecraft. This talk will address how these challenges were overcome and some examples of Earth deformation measured by the UAVSAR system.

Earth's landmasses were not always what they are today. Continents formed as Earth's crustal plates shifted and collided over long periods of time. This video shows how today's continents are thought to have evolved over the last 600 million years, and where they'll end up in the next 100 million years. Paleogeographic Views of Earth's History provided by Ron Blakey, Professor of Geology, Northern Arizona University.

2 will fall below the level needed to sustain C3 carbon fixation phot

I will be testing the earths surface with no mathematical calculations involved with the best in my opinion, place possible. One conduit with a light, the other with a scope or transit, both level at Approx. 5 miles apart hopefully more. To me the best test is without being manipulated with various mathematical equations, since allot of us see math as another language when it starts involving alphabets in the equation. Both poles will be plumb and level and will verify with video of the process with continual video showing Long/Lat from light source to survey point. Input is appreciated.
