The specious present is the time duration wherein one's perceptions are considered to be in the present.Time perception studies the sense of time, which differs from other senses since time cannot be directly perceived but must be reconstructed by the brain.
The term was coined by E. Robert Kelly, better known under the pseudonym "E. R. Clay".
The concept was further developed by philosopher William James. James defined the specious present to be "the prototype of all conceived times... the short duration of which we are immediately and incessantly sensible". C. D. Broad in "Scientific Thought" (1930) further elaborated on the concept of the specious present, and considered that the Specious Present may be considered as the temporal equivalent of a sensory datum.
Through a series of declarative sentences (or "propositions"), one can affirm the existence of the specious present. For example, to see a second-hand moving is quite a different thing from seeing that an hour-hand has moved. More formally:

At the 2015 Race of the Century, Hunter Chaney, Collings Foundation’s Director of Marketing and master of ceremonies for the event, and CEO-Chief Pilot Rob Collings found a unique way to present some transportation technology education, while informing the crowd about why aircraft were not flying from the field for this event as they have since 1979.
On March 25, 2015, at the insistence of the Stow Board of Selectmen, the Building Commissioner issued a Cease and Desist Order for any further flight operations against the Collings Foundation and the Crow Island Airpark, two of three privately owned and operated airfields within the borders of Stow.
The order is based on a specious 1982 Stow Town Bylaw in which “the operation or use of aircraft is not a permitted use in any zoning district in the Town of Stow.” Thus, except for the Collings Foundation’s recently acquired “Tuskegee Airmen” PT-17 Stearman trainer, being the only aircraft this year available for Flight Experiences during Collings Foundation events because it is flying off site, the rest of the aircraft in the Stow-based collection are currently grounded indefinitely at the Collings Foundation.
On May 5, 2015, in a letter to Stow Town Administrator William Wrigley, the Aeronautics Division of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, which has “clear statutory authority with respect to the regulation and promotion of aeronautics,” informed Mr. Wrigley that not only was the Bylaw not approved by the Aeronautics Division, but that “any orders originating from this bylaw attempting to regulate aeronautical activity within the town are invalid and unenforceable.”
Conversely, in litigation that concluded in 2004 in Middlesex Superior Court, the Stow Zoning Board of Appeals, at considerable expense to the Stow taxpayers, defended in writing the Collings Foundation’s flight operations as being in compliance with town bylaws. The same Town Counsel that defended the use of the airfield in 2004 is now, without any change in circumstances, taking the opposite position.
The airfield at the Collings Foundation has long been approved in all respects by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation Aeronautics Division. Flight operations are operated in compliance with all FAA regulations.
In a public meeting, on August 3, 2015, the Stow Zoning Board of Appeals voted to refuse to vacate the order against Collings Foundation 4-1. A subsequent vote to reconsider the order against Crow Island Airpark was 3-2 against vacating. When it was pointed out that a “supermajority” was required, and after much discussion, the order against Crow Island was vacated in a subsequent re-vote 4-1. As of this date, only the Collings Foundation is prohibited from flying to and from their private airfield.

On March 25, 2015, at the insistence of the Stow Board of Selectmen, the Building Commissioner issued a Cease and Desist Order for any further flight operations against the Collings Foundation and the Crow Island Airpark, two of three privately owned and operated airfields within the borders of Stow.
The order is based on a specious 1982 Stow Town Bylaw in which “the operation or use of aircraft is not a permitted use in any zoning district in the Town of Stow.” Thus, except for the Collings Foundation’s recently acquired “Tuskegee Airmen” PT-17 Stearman trainer, being the only aircraft this year available for Flight Experiences during Collings Foundation events because it is flying off site, the rest of the aircraft in the Stow-based collection are currently grounded indefinitely at the Collings Foundation.
On May 5, 2015, in a letter to Stow Town Administrator William Wrigley, the Aeronautics Division of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, which has “clear statutory authority with respect to the regulation and promotion of aeronautics,” informed Mr. Wrigley that not only was the Bylaw not approved by the Aeronautics Division, but that “any orders originating from this bylaw attempting to regulate aeronautical activity within the town are invalid and unenforceable.”
Conversely, in litigation that concluded in 2004 in Middlesex Superior Court, the Stow Zoning Board of Appeals, at considerable expense to the Stow taxpayers, defended in writing the Collings Foundation’s flight operations as being in compliance with town bylaws. The same Town Counsel that defended the use of the airfield in 2004 is now, without any change in circumstances, taking the opposite position.
The airfield at the Collings Foundation has long been approved in all respects by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation Aeronautics Division. Flight operations are operated in compliance with all FAA regulations.
In a public meeting, on August 3, 2015, the Stow Zoning Board of Appeals voted to refuse to vacate the order against Collings Foundation 4-1. A subsequent vote to reconsider the order against Crow Island Airpark was 3-2 against vacating. When it was pointed out that a “supermajority” was required, and after much discussion, the order against Crow Island was vacated in a subsequent re-vote 4-1. As of this date, only the Collings Foundation is prohibited from flying to and from their private airfield.

It is an old village of about 650 years old; it was planted by a Muslim Saint Shah Allah Ditta on the edge of the Grand Trunk or GT Road. This road meets with Peshawar and ends in Afghanistan. The Shrine of Saint Shah Allah Ditta is situated in the middle of this village of Islamabad.
This village is surrounded by the great Margalla hills (مارگلہ ہلز) which increase the beauty of this area. This village represent many historical things and places like caves etc. It is said that once this place was the patch of Sher Shah Suri (شیر شاہ سوری) the lion of Afghanistan and construction of Rohtas fort Jhelum. He also built the Gernaly Sarak (General’s road) on this village; few parts of this road are still visible and tell us the glory. This road was used to travel from India to Afghanistan; an old wall of this road is still present in its original condition. This is a wall with 90 feet length and 2 and half feet width. The height of this wall is approximately 30 feet from the ground. The hard stones were used in its construction and it is still in its original condition.
On the way you will find water well, which is also a construction of the same era. It is known as the Sher Shah Suri’s well, according to some folks it is King Akber’s well. Steps could be seen in this well just like the well we find in the Rohtas fort of Jhelum. The depth of this well is approximately 60 feet while its width is around 6 feet. Same hard stones were used in the construction of this well. It is another historical thing which is present in its original condition.
To facilitate the visitors and travellers Sher Shah Suri constructed a Sarai (rest house) and a Mosque near to this well. You will find many old caves in this Shah Allah Ditta village and according to the archaeologists they belong to the Buddha’s age. The wall of those caves had the pictures of Buddha on them but with the passage of time they disappeared. It seems that travellers used to live in these caves when they passed this point. Few caves contain the doors in front of them, which means that peoples used to live here for long times. 750 years old Bargat tree is also present in this village.
A natural water flow is also present here and its water is really clean and sweet. The peoples of village made an artificial path for this water and turned it towards their village. Now there is a small but beautiful lake of sweet water in this village. A small park is also present here now to facilitate the visitors. There is a form of Peacock and Ostrich in the village of Shah Allah Ditta. It is kind of birdhouse where you can find the birds of different specious. 16 kinds of peacocks and 4 kinds of ostriches are present here along the birds which were imported from Britain and USA. This birdhouse includes many rare birds in it.

This idea, however, clear though it is, must be strengthened and implanted more deeply by daily reflection; it is more important for you to keep the resolutions you have already made than to go on and make noble ones. You must persevere, must develop new strength by continuous study, until that which is only a good inclination becomes a good settled purpose.
