Dale Evans (October 31, 1912 – February 7, 2001) was an American writer, film star and singer-songwriter. She was the third wife of singing cowboy Roy Rogers.
Born in Uvalde, Texas, she had a tumultuous early life. She was born in 1912 to T. Hillman Smith and Bettie Sue Wood, and was named Lucille Wood Smith at birth; the name was changed to Frances Octavia Smith while she was still an infant.
At age 14, she eloped with her first husband, Thomas F. Fox, to whom she bore one son, Thomas F. Fox, Jr., when she was 15. A year later, she found herself in Memphis, Tennessee, a single parent, pursuing a career in music. She landed a job with local radio stations (WMC and WREC), singing and playing piano. Divorced in 1929, she took the name Dale Evans in the early 1930s to promote her singing career.
After beginning her career singing at the radio station where she was employed as a secretary, Evans had a productive career as a jazz, swing, and big band singer that led to a screen test and contract with 20th Century Fox studios. She gained exposure on radio as the featured singer for a time on the Edgar Bergen/Charlie McCarthy show.
Roy Rogers (born Leonard Franklin Slye; November 5, 1911 – July 6, 1998) was an American singer and cowboy actor who was one of the most popular Western stars of his era. Known as the "King of the Cowboys", he appeared in over 100 films and numerous radio and television episodes of The Roy Rogers Show. In many of his films and television episodes, he appeared with his wife Dale Evans, his golden palomino Trigger, and his German Shepherd dog Bullet. His show ran on radio for nine years before moving to television from 1951 through 1957. His productions usually featured a sidekick, often Pat Brady, Andy Devine, or George "Gabby" Hayes. In his later years, Rogers lent his name to the Roy Rogers Restaurants franchised chain.
Rogers (Leonard Slye) was born to Mattie (née Womack) and Andrew "Andy" Slye in Cincinnati, Ohio. The family lived in a tenement building on 2nd Street, where Riverfront Stadium would later be constructed (Rogers would later joke that he was born at second base). Dissatisfied with his job and city life, Andy and his brother Will built a 12-by-50-foot (3.7 m × 15.2 m) houseboat from salvage lumber, and in July 1912 the Slye family traveled up the Ohio River towards Portsmouth, Ohio. Desiring a more stable existence in Portsmouth, they purchased land on which to build a house, but the Great Flood of 1913 allowed them to move the houseboat to their property and continue living in it on dry land.

Plot: An interesting oddity in Republic's B-western series but certainly not the first or only time the studio used a movie set as the backdrop of a plot line. Newcomer Monte Hale is tying to just get a job in western films when he meet young Danny McCoy and his sister Gloria. Danny is trying to get his horse, "Pardner" into films. Monte sings a song and "Pardner" does some tricks and a casting director notices. Monte gets a singing-cowboy role and the horse gets a bit, but there is an accidental explosion, engineered by western star Rod Mason, who is jealous of Monte, and the horse is badly scared and blows his lines. Monte takes care of Sheridan in some hand-to-hand fisticuffs and "Pardner", trouper that he is, recovers and performs as expected. Republic contractees Roy Rogers and Dale Evans drop by and sing a song while "Trigger" upstages "Pardner" with some tap-dancing, and Donald Barry and Allan Lane drop by and say 'hidy."

In celebration of Dale's 100th birthday (which is 31 Oct 2012), we made a music video to her fantastic song, "Angel Unaware". The song was written by Dale and is a companion to her bestselling book, "Angel Unaware". In 1950, Roy and Dale had a baby who had downs syndrome and some other physical problems. Although the doctors advised placing her in a mental institution, Roy and Dale took her home and loved her like a normal child. She died two days shy of her second birthday. Soon after, Dale wrote "Angel Unaware", which tells the story of Robin's time on earth. The book was a bestseller and helped people to not hide their downs children. It had a huge impact and is still an inspiring book today. The song was released on Dale's 1975 album, "Heart of the Country". LYRICS Be not forgetful...
[PLEASE READ] Even after she became filmdom’s “Queen of the West,” Dale Evans remained a polished swing-era singer. Here she interprets a romantic ballad during her appearance in THE TRESPASSER (1947)—the first film starring Miss Evans released after the Western BELLS OF SAN ANGELO earlier that year. Dale was beginning what became a two-year hiatus between appearances in Western films with Roy Rogers, whom she married on December 31, 1947. Gifted and charismatic with a lovely lilting voice, actress Dale Evans remains one of the best (and most underrated) “canaries” of her era. She was mature for her age and by age 14 had eloped, had a son, and by 16 was a divorced single mom. She moved to Memphis with her young son and while working at an insurance company there, her boss heard her singing at her desk and put her on a WREC radio show sponsored by the insurance company, where she sang and played piano.
Song: “It’s Not the First Love.” Music and lyrics by Eddie Maxwell and Nathan Scott. One wonders if Dale related personally to this song’s lyrics at that particular time of her life. IMPORTANT: This is a video samp...

Eu sentia a vinda da nova visão
Eu sentia a mudança
Nas chamas de uma casa em fogo em celebrao
Eu sentia u calor de um corpo a arder
Eu sentia a tentao
