Youssou N'Dour: Gorgui (Old Man), Lii!, Sunu Yaye, Dem (Leaving) Baaba Maal: Ndaga, Ndelorel, Gal Gui, Miskinébé
Youssou N'Dour is a Senegalese singer, percussionist, songwriter, composer, occasional actor, businessman and a politician. In 2004, Rolling Stone described him as, "perhaps the most famous singer alive" in Senegal and much of Africa. From April 2012 to October 2012, he was Senegal's Minister of Tourism and Culture, and from October 2012 to September 2013, he was Senegal's Minister of Tourism and Leisure.
N'Dour helped to develop a style of popular Senegalese music known in the Serer language as mbalax, which derives from the conservative Serer music tradition of "Njuup". He is the subject of the award-winning films Return to Goree directed by Pierre-Yves Borgeaud and Youssou N'Dour: I Bring What I Love directed by Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi, which were released around the world.
Baaba Maal is a Senegalese singer and guitarist born in Podor, on the Senegal River. He is well known in Africa and internationally is Senegal's most famous musician. In addition to acoustic guitar, he also plays percussion. He has released several albums, both for independent and major labels. In July 2003, he was made a UNDP Youth Emissary.
Baaba sings primarily in Pulaar and is the foremost promoter of the traditions of the Pulaar-speaking people, who live on either side of the Senegal River in the ancient Senegalese kingdom of Futa Tooro.

The Senegal bichir, Polypterus senegalus, also known as the gray bichir and Cuvier's bichir, is sometimes called the "dinosaur eel" and also known as "dragon fish" at many local pet chains- a misnomer, as the creature is not an eel. It is a prototypical species of fish in the Polypterus genus, meaning most of its features are held across the genus. It is a fresh water fish from Africa. Can reach lengths at 12 inch. This carnivore will eat anything it can capture, dead or alive. Senegal bichir will also accept flakes, pellets, frozen and dried foods. The male Senegal bichir has a broad anal fin when compared to the females. Females are also noticeably larger than the males. The Senegal bichir can be found all throughout Africa's rivers and lakes. The Nile River, Lake Chad and Senegal River are just a few of the main bodies of water this fish can be found in.
Polypterus senegalus is also known as the dinosaur eel because of its elongated, eel-like body and its serrated dorsal fin that is dinosaur-like. This species, however, is not a true eel. The small pectoral fins of the Senegal Bichir only allow this fish to swim slowly, preventing it from being a better predator. A modified swim bladder gives the Senegal Bichir the ability to breathe atmospheric oxygen and will gulp air from the surface so there must be space between the water level and the top of the tank. They can survive out of water for hours but this is not advised. They are fantastic escape artists so keep the lid on.
All they really need is plants and lots of floor space. An ideal tank is wider than it is tall.
"I bought it on June 15th 2013 which is last Saturday. I put her in my small tank (5liter) together with my Black Ghost Fish but after half an hour, she still moving around & looks miserable. So I seperate them where I put My Red Eye DragonFish Beck7(I give her a name) to small container (2liter) for temporary. Then she just stay silent & calm.
But 1 thing that made me worried was, she doesn't eat even a bit that night. Maybe because she don't like a normal fish's food. So first thing in the morning(next day), I'm going out to the aquarium shop to buy her a food like Krill Shrimp, Blood worms & also small live fish. Because of her, I am willing to buy her a new tank(25liter). Not big enough but I think suitable temporary for her.
I'm went back early as possible. Too excited to prepare for her a new home. After everything was ready, I put her to the new tank & try to feed her with dried food like Krill Shrimp & Blood worms. Unfortunately, she doesn't care with the foods. So I decided putting 2 small live fishes in the tank.
After almost 2 hours, I just checking her & realised that 1 of the small fish was disappeared. So I assumed eaten by my DragonFish. hahaha... But I want to see how she made a move. So I prepared a video Cam to record the feeding scenes."

How France Influenced America: Slave Rebellions, Wars, Investment Schemes, Secret Diplomacy (1989)

In the American Revolutionary War (1775--1783), France fought alongside the United States, against Britain, from 1778. French money, munitions, soldiers and naval forces proved essential to America's victory over the Crown, but France gained little except large debts.
Benjamin Franklin served as the American ambassador to France from 1776 to 1783. He met with many leading diplomats, aristocrats, intellectuals, scientists and financiers. Franklin's image and writings caught the French imagination -- there were many images of him sold on the market -- and he became the image of the archetypal new American and even a hero for aspirations for a new order inside France. The French goal was to weaken Britain, both to keep it from getting too powerful and to exact revenge for the defeat in the Seven Years' War. After the American capture of the British invasion army at Saratoga in 1777, and after the French navy had been built up, France was ready. In 1778 France recognized the United States of America as a sovereign nation, signed a military alliance, went to war with Britain, built coalitions with the Netherlands and Spain that kept Britain without a significant ally of its own, provided the Americans with grants, arms and loans, sent a combat army to serve under George Washington, and sent a navy that prevented the second British army from escaping from Yorktown in 1781. In all, the French spent about 1.3 billion livres (in modern currency, approximately thirteen billion U.S. dollars) to support the Americans directly, not including the money it spent fighting Britain on land and sea outside the U.S.[1]
French aid proved vital in the victory of the Americans seeking independence from Britain. The U.S. gained much territory at the 1783 Treaty of Paris, but France -- after losing some naval battles -- fared poorly there. It did get its revenge and made a new ally and trading partner. However the high debt France accumulated was a major cause of the French Revolution in 1789.
Starting with the Siege of Yorktown, Benjamin Franklin never informed France of the secret negotiations that took place directly between Britain and the United States. Britain acknowledged that the United States owned all the land south of the Great Lakes and east of the Mississippi River, except for Florida (which went to Spain). However, since France was not included in the American-British peace discussions, the alliance between France and the U.S. was weakened. Thus the influence of France and Spain in future negotiations was limited.
The war formally ended in September 1783 with the signing of the Treaty of Paris. France gained (or regained) territories in America, Africa, and India. Losses in the 1763 Treaty of Paris and in the Treaty of Utrecht (1713) were in part regained: Tobago, Saint Lucia, the Senegal River area, as well as increased fishing rights in Terra Nova. Spain regained Florida and Minorca, but Gibraltar remained in the hands of the British.
Because the French involvement in the war was distant and naval in nature, over a billion livres tournois were spent by the French government to support the war effort, raising its overall debt to about 3.315 billion. The finances of the French state were in disastrous shape and were made worse by Jacques Necker, who, rather than raise taxes, used loans to pay off debts. State secretary in Finances Charles Alexandre de Calonne attempted to fix the deficit problem by asking for the taxation of the property of nobles and clergy but was dismissed and exiled for his ideas. The French instability further weakened the reforms that were essential in the re-establishment of stable French finances. Trade also severely declined during the war, but was revived by 1783.
The war was especially important for the prestige and pride of France, who was reinstated in the role of European arbiter. However, Britain, not France, became by far the leading trading partner of the U.S. The French took pride in their cultural influence on America through the enlightenment, as attested by Franklin and Jefferson, and as embodied in the Declaration of Independence in 1776 and the United States Constitution in 1787. In turn the Revolution influenced France.[7] Liberal elites were satisfied by the victory but there were also some major consequences. European conservative Royalists and nobility had become nervous, and began to take measures in order to secure their positions. On May 22, 1781, the Decree of Ségur closed the military post offices of the upper rank to the common persons and reserved those ranks exclusively for the nobility.

The U.S. gained much territory at the 1783 Treaty of Paris, but France -- after losing some naval battles -- fared poorly there.

The EXTREME DIFFICULT Life in Desert: Sahara Documentary - How the Life in Desert Look Like

The Sahara (Arabic: al-As-Sahara Kobra, الصحراء الكبرى, the Grand Desert and steppe ) is a large ecoregion desert located in the northern part of the African continent . It stretches over 5000 kilometers of the Atlantic to the Red Sea and covers nearly 8 million square kilometers , an area the size of Australia. It extends beyond the Red Sea and geographers speak of a large Saharan-Arabian desert. The Sahara is the western part of a broad dry diagonal stretching from the outskirts of the Senegal River until Mongolia .
Considered the largest hot desert in the world, it divides the continent from north to south. It covers vast expanses of territory and extends the territory of ten States : the Algeria , the Tunisian , the Morocco , the Libya , the Egypt , the Sudan , the Chad , the Niger , the Mali , the Mauritanian and the disputed territory of Western Sahara .
Contrary to popular belief, the sandy desert covers only 20% of the area of the Sahara. Most travelers know the images of sandy deserts ( Grand Erg Oriental and the Grand Erg Occidental ) but neglect those mountains ( Hoggar , Tassili , Tibesti ) of hamadas , the regs (Tanezrouft) and huge regions covered webs sand like Majabat al Kubra ...
The word Sahara desert which means in Arabic means in all languages the great African desert. But the name Tiniri (or Ténéré) which means desert in language Tamashek , the language Tamazight Tuareg native, was awarded by them in one of the driest regions of the Sahara in northern Niger .
This great desert is the largest and the only true desert in the geographical sense because it has hyper regions (less than 50 mm of annual rainfall but with extreme interannual irregularity), dry (less than 150 mm annual rainfall and concentrated vegetation in wadis), semi-arid and dry sub-humid areas. Dry diagonal which it belongs includes the Sahara, the Arabian , the Syrian desert (Syria, Jordan and Iraq), the Dasht-e Kavir (Iran), the Dasht-e Lut (Iran), the Thar (India) and continues with medium latitude deserts of Central Asia (the Karakum the Kyzyl Kum and China the Taklamakan desert and Gobi ).
This dryness is due to the loss of two major sources of precipitation: the polar front and the equatorial currents from west and it leads to particularly important drought intensity and duration.
The Sahara is the largest and the largest hot desert in the world. The climate ranges from the extreme heat in full summer day and cool nights in winter or cold in the highlands (the night the temperature can drop to - 10 ° C in Atakor and in the Assekrem between 2000 and 2500 meters above sea level between December and February). This desert is known for its climate extremes: in fact the Sahara has places belonging warmer, drier, more arid and sunnier in the world. The Sahara obviously has a hot desert climate ( Köppen climate classification BWh) characterized by generally long summers, prolonged and extremely hot or hot while winters are short, brief and extremely gentle and can even be really hot. The Saharan climate is also characterized by a perpetual clear skies and very low rainfall or almost nonexistent, but they are also very irregular and sporadic. Although located predominantly in the Tropic of Cancer , its climate is subtropical said in reference to the subtropical high pressures that are largely responsible for the climate of the Sahara. The northern fringe of the Sahara is subjected to a regime of winter but very low rainfall where the Mediterranean disturbances associated with the polar front reach highly attenuated. The southern edge is subjected to a regime of irregular summer rains but relatively low that only occur when the intertropical convergence zone goes back far enough to the north or when tropical depressions are strong enough. In both cases, the climate is very dry and the rains are very irregular, especially in the southern fringe, on the border with the Sahel . Between the two parties, the central Sahara is subject to extremely arid regime marked by the establishment of the continental trade wind called harmattan (hot wind, very dry and often dusty). Only the highest peaks of the Hoggar and Tibesti are watered but rainfall still remain very low. Finally the Atlantic coastal area bathed by the cold current of the Canaries is subject to sea breezes and a few mists phenomena. Saharan climates, especially subtropical have daily and annual temperature ranges with well marked in some cases of sudden temperature changes due to the extremely dry and clear air and the light of heaven. Moreover, the presence of winds in the desert further increases drought by allowing the renewal of an increasingly dry air mass. In all cases, the Saharan climate is very monotonous, marked by oppressive conditions, because it is hot, dry, sunny and windy throughout the year.

Senegal /ˌsɛnɨˈɡɔːl, -ˈɡɑːl/ (French: le Sénégal), officially the Republic of Senegal (République du Sénégal, IPA: [ʁepyblik dy seneɡal]), is a country in West Africa. It is the westernmost country in the mainland of the Old World or Eurafrasia and owes its name to the Sénégal River that borders it to the east and north. Senegal is externally bounded by the Atlantic Ocean to the west, Mauritania to the north, Mali to the east, and Guinea and Guinea-Bissau to the south; internally it almost completely surrounds Gambia, namely on the north, east and south, except for Gambia's short Atlantic coastline. Senegal covers a land area of almost 197,000 square kilometres (76,000 sq mi), and has an estimated population of about 13 million. The climate is tropical with two seasons: the dry season and the rainy season.
Dakar, the capital city of Senegal, is located at the westernmost tip of the country on the Cap-Vert peninsula. About 500 kilometers (310 miles) off the coast lie the Cape Verde Islands. During the 17th and 18th centuries, numerous trading posts belonging to various European colonial empires were established along the coast. After French colonization of the territory called French West Africa (Afrique occidentale française, or AOF), the town of St. Louis became the capital; in 1902 it was succeeded by Dakar. When Senegal gained independence from France in 1960, it affirmed its capital as Dakar.

The Fula people or Fulani or Fulɓe (Fula: Fulɓe; French: Peul; Hausa: Fulani; Portuguese: Fula; Wolof: Pël; Bambara: Fulaw) numbering approximately 20 million people in total are one of the most widely dispersed and culturally diverse of the peoples of Africa. The Fulani are bound together by the common language of Fulfulde, as well as by some basic elements of Fulbe culture, such as the pulaaku, a code of conduct common to all Fulani groups.
The Fula have a rich musical culture and play a variety of traditional instruments including drums, hoddu (a plucked skin-covered lute similar to a banjo), and riti or riiti (a one-string bowed instrument similar to a violin), in addition to vocal music. The well-known Senegalese Fula musician Baaba Maal sings in Pulaar on his recordings. Zaghareet or ululation is a popular form of vocal music formed by rapidly moving the tongue sideways and making a sharp, high sound.
Fulani music is as varied as its people. The numerous sub-groups all maintain unique repertoires of music and dance. Songs and dances reflect traditional life and are specifically designed for each individual occasion. Music is played at any occasion: when herding cattle, working in the fields, preparing food, or at the temple. Music is extremely important to the village life cycle with field cultivation, harvest and winnowing of millet performed to the rhythm of the songs and drums.
Fulani herders have a special affinity for the flute and violin nianioru. The young Fulani shepherd like to whistle and sing softly as they wander the silent savannah with cattle and goats. The truly Fulani instruments are the one-string viola of the Fulani (nianioru), the flute, the two to five string lute hoddu or molo, and the buuba and bawdi set of drums. But they are also influenced by the other instruments of the region such as the beautiful West African harp, the kora, and the balafon. Entertainment is the role of certain casts. The performance of music is the realm of specialized casts. The Griots or Awlube recite the history of the people, places and events of the community.
A significant proportion of their number, (an estimated 13 million), are nomadic, making them the largest pastoral nomadic group in the world.[6] Spread over many countries, they are found mainly in West Africa and northern parts of Central Africa, but also in Sudan and Egypt.
African countries where they are present include Mauritania, Ghana, Senegal, Guinea, the Gambia, Mali, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Benin, Burkina Faso, Guinea Bissau, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Niger, Chad, Togo, Gabon, South Sudan the Central African Republic, Liberia, and as far East as the Red Sea in Sudan and Egypt. With the exception of Guinea, where the Fula make up an ethnic plurality (largest single ethnic group) or approximately 49%+ of the population,[10] and Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger and Cameroon, Fulas are minorities in nearly all other countries they live in. Alongside, many also speak other languages of the countries they inhabit, making many Fulani bilingual or even trilingual in nature. Such languages include Hausa, Bambara, Wolof, and Arabic.
Major concentrations of Fulani people exist in the Fouta Djallon highlands of central Guinea and south into the northernmost reaches of Sierra Leone; the Futa Tooro savannah grasslands of Senegal and southern Mauritania; the Macina inland Niger river delta system around Central Mali; and especially in the regions around Mopti and the Nioro Du Sahel in the Kayes region; the Borgu settlements of Benin, Togo and West-Central Nigeria; the northern parts of Burkina Faso in the Sahel region's provinces of Seno, Wadalan, and Soum; and the areas occupied by the Sokoto Caliphate, which includes what is now Southern Niger and Northern Nigeria (such as Tahoua, Katsina, Sokoto, Kebbi, Zinder, Bauchi, Diffa, Yobe, Gombe, and further east, into the Benue river valley systems of North Eastern Nigeria and Northern Cameroon).

Video about how to fly the 3 levels of the Hudson River VFR SFRA in New York City. With my trusty sidekick and backup squawk, Kili, I set off to fly the Hudson at 800ft in the local level, the 1,200ft transient VFR exclusion level, and then in the 1,500ft+ Skyline route in the Bravo airspace. Get the view and full experience at different levels in this single video.
Don't forget to review FAR 93.350 - 93.353, 91.215, 91.131 as well as the NYC TAC Chart insert for the Skyline route and Hudson SFRA Special Flight Rules Area. Be sure to familiarize yourself with the route and all relevant information before flight. These guide is simply meant as an illustration and to help you get started and not instruction or necessarily everything required. Please use common sense and good piloting. Fly safe.
