Clerkenwell (/ˈklɑrkənwɛl/) is an area of central London in the London Borough of Islington. From 1900 to 1965 it was part of the Metropolitan Borough of Finsbury. The well after which it was named was rediscovered in 1924. The watchmaking and watch repairing trades were once of great importance. Clerkenwell was once known as London's "Little Italy" because of the large number of Italians living in the area from the 1850s until the 1960s.
Clerkenwell took its name from the Clerks' Well in Farringdon Lane (clerken was the Middle English genitive plural of clerk, a variant of clerc, meaning literate person or clergyman). In the Middle Ages, the London Parish clerks performed annual mystery plays there, based on biblical themes. Part of the well remains visible, incorporated into a 1980s building called Well Court. It is visible through a window of that building on Farringdon Lane. Access to the well is managed by Islington Local History Centre and visits can be arranged by appointment.

Vauxhall, London Travel Guide
The colourful suburb of Vauxhall is located alongside the River Thames, not far from Central London and it’s the perfect place for a day out for all the family.
Vauxhall is home to the Secret Intelligence Service building, MI6. So, it's no surprise that Vauxhall was the birth place of James Bond. There's even a local school named after the top British spy.
History has played a significant part in the story of Vauxhall and looking around today, there are signs of the area’s past everywhere. From this wall, to these shops. Even this post box was made in the past.

Hotels in London, England - London Hotels
Hotels in London are in very good supply. While, in global terms, it is an expensive city in which to lay your head, those on a budget have many options for cheap hotels in London. The streets around Kings Cross station are chock-a-block with chain hotels and budget B&Bs;, and the area in between Bayswater and Paddington is also densely populated with a range of accommodation. Grand and historic 5-star establishments are London's forte, with the newly refurbished Savoy, The Dorchester and T

Finally I succeeded getting to London after my one day delay in Salzburg. After arriving late on May 9, 2008, I got a good night's sleep at the Zetter Hotel, a hip boutique hotel in the Clerkenwell area. The next day, after a delicious breakfast, my travel partner Andrea and I got going early to start our discoveries. We walked past historic medieval St. John's Gate and admired the Victorian era Smithfield Market. From here I took my first ride on the Tube (London's famous subway system) to the historic St. Pancras Railway Station which is now the terminal for the Eurostar Trains, connecting London with the Continent. We then walked over to n

Vauxhall, often known locally as Voho is known for its nightlife so while in the area I decided to go out and find myself a pretty girl. I had few drinks in Area, Union, The Eagle, Fire, The Hoist, and the Royal Vauxhall Tavern but there were barely any girls in sight… perhaps it was the X Factor final night and they were all at home watching Dermot Murnaghan and the gang.
I made loads of friends though, everyone is so friendly here especially Paulo. He wants to meet up again tomorrow and has an exciting day planned for us, something to do with cottages or something.
Getting to Vauxhall is easy, planes fly to Vauxhall International Airport frequently but the lack of a runway prevents them from landing. However, train, car or tricycle is also a good option. The cost of visiting any of Vauxhall’s nightclubs varies and poppers are available at an additional cost.

Grand and historic 5-star establishments are London's forte, with the newly refurbished Savoy, The Dorchester and The Ritz leading the way.
The London hotels below have been grouped into three pricing categories:
Luxury (over £300)
Moderate (£100 to £300)
Cheap (up to £100)
These London hotel prices are the starting costs for a standard double room and include taxes and breakfast unless otherwise specified.
The Savoy
==============
A haunt of London's moneyed elite since the late 1800s, London's Savoy re-opened its grand doors in 2010 following a three-year overhaul. Costing around £220 million, the spangly improvements have been enticing high-profile clientele from across the world, with revamped areas including the lavish guest rooms, the American Bar, and the famous Savoy Grill, which is overseen by TV kitchen king Gordon Ramsey. One thing that's not changed is the stunning view across the Thames.
The Dorchester
============
Sat beside Hyde Park, the glamorous Dorchester is a stately cavern of old-school British class. Dining includes high-end Asian restaurant China Tang and purveyors of modern British cuisine The Grill at The Dorchester, while the extensive spa in the basement is an exceptional pampering space. For all-out luxury, there's the baroque and rococo Oliver Messel Suite, perched a-top the hotel, with a terrace offering prime views across the London rooftops.
The Ritz
========
Since 1906, The Ritz has been providing exemplary service to its well-heeled guests. The interior of this elegant building is fastidiously decorated in Louis XVI style with marble columns, rich fabrics and antique furniture. The rooms are furnished in soothing pastel colours, and the chandelier-filled restaurant is offers classic glamour for formal meals, and the famous Ritz afternoon tea is served in the Palm Court at 1530 or 1700.
The Soho Hotel
===========
Rooms at this trendy hotel are sumptuously appointed in a modern, eclectic style, not forgetting flatscreen TVs, huge, ultra-comfortable beds, and sleek bathrooms kitted out in grey granite, glass and oak. Befitting a hotel nestled in the heart of London's entertainment district, there is a swish private event space and two private screening rooms. Onsite restaurant Refuel has an attractive dinner menu, as well as serving afternoon tea and an extensive selection of breakfast dishes.
The Zetter
=========
This converted warehouse in the heart of Clerkenwell is pretty affordable considering its desirable location. Its 59 rooms are decked in sleek upholstery, cool mood lighting and in-room entertainment systems. Nice little touches, such as hot water bottles and old Penguin paperbacks, add a homely feel. The Zetter's popular restaurant, which serves modern Mediterranean food, occupies most of the ground floor and looks onto St John's Square.
Hoxton Hotel
==========
In the heart of Hoxton, in the same premises as the popular Hoxton Grill, is this wallet savvy establishment. The Hoxton Hotel forgoes the money-making mini bar and instead has free milk and bottled water in the fridge, and sells the like of sweets and wine at reasonable prices in the lobby. Wi-Fi is also free, and guests receive a simple but tasty breakfast from coffee house chain Pret A Manger delivered to their room.
Hampstead Guest House
==================
Escape to this charming bed and breakfast situated in one of London's most sought-after residential areas. London 2008 - Leicester Square, Chinatown, Piccadilly Circus
We then walked over to neighbourhing King's Cross Railway Station where we checked out Platform 9 3/4 of Harry Potter fame.
Our next destination was the Portobello Market, an ecclectic mix of fresh vegetables, fruit, baked goods, enticing aromas from all sorts of delicious freshly made street food, funky clothes, furs and antiques. After our interview with Michael Williams, one of the organizers of the Notting Hill Carnival (a Caribbean-style carnival and Europe's biggest street party) we walked through the serene streets of Notting Hill and Kensington before we embarked on a brief tour of Little Beirut, a heavily middle-Eastern influenced area on Edgeware Road.
A tube ride later we arrived at Hyde Park Corner where to my disappointment nobody was giving any speeches or ranting about anything. Only two older gentlemen were sitting on two soap boxes and taking a rest, maybe exhausted from an earlier discourse. After a brief stroll through Hyde Park, which was full on sun worshippers, we tubed it to London's Financial District where we checked out various classicist bank and stock exchange buildings, the stunning Victorian era Leadenhall Market, the Lloyds Building, a postmodernist masterpiece by Richard Rogers, which has all the piping on the outside, and the Gherkin, the famous cucumber shaped Swiss Re building. Our walk continued to another historic train station: the Liverpool Street Railway Station from where we took a train to Walthamstow Village to do an interview with the owner of Eat 17, a restaurant and deli that serves really cool waffles (among many other things), where I had a supremely delicious spinach risotto.
Our final stop for the day was a walk around Leiceister Square that included London's Theatre District, Chinatown and hustling and bustling Piccadilly Square. I simply couldn't believe how packed the streets of London's entertainment area were, we could hardly walk...

And I like very much The real Tuesday Weld and their style, it was a pleasure to work with their song.

Vauxhall, London Travel Guide
Vauxhall, London Travel Guide
The colourful suburb of Vauxhall is located alongside the River Thames, not far from Central London and it’s the perfect place for a day out for all the family.
Vauxhall is home to the Secret Intelligence Service building, MI6. So, it's no surprise that Vauxhall was the birth place of James Bond. There's even a local school named after the top British spy.
History has played a significant part in the story of Vauxhall and looking around today, there are signs of the area’s past everywhere. From this wall, to these shops. Even this post box was made in the past.

The Savoy
==============
============
The Ritz
========
===========
The Zetter
=========
==========
==================
Escape to this charming bed and breakfast situated in one of London's most sought-after residential areas. Just 20 minutes on the Underground from central London and a short walk from beautiful Hampstead Heath, the stunning Victorian house is tucked away from a high street strewn with stylish boutiques and bistros. The ambience is distinctly homely with eclectic, bohemian furnishings, a family dog, floor-to-ceiling bookshelves and a rambling garden.

London 2008 - Leicester Square, Chinatown, Piccadilly Circus
