This is easier to understand if you slowly say the j in jump or the ch in change. When you start to form the j or ch, feel where the contact is between your tongue and palate. Cerebral consonants are formed by curling the tip of your tongue backwards against the roof of your mouth, just behind where the top of your tongue was for a palatal consonant.)

Postalveolar consonants are consonants articulated with the tongue near or touching the back of the alveolar ridge, further back in the mouth than the alveolar consonants, which are at the ridge itself, but not as far back as the hard palate. Examples of postalveolar consonants are the English palato-alveolar consonants [ʃ] [tʃ] [ʒ] [dʒ], as in the words "shill", "'chill", "vision", and "Jill", respectively.
There are a large number of types of postalveolar sounds, especially among the sibilants. The three primary types are palato-alveolar; alveolo-palatal; and retroflex. The palato-alveolar and alveolo-palatal subtypes are commonly counted as "palatals" in phonology, since they rarely contrast with true palatal consonants.

Learn/Write/Read /Pronounce Hindi Alphabet/Consonant/Letter - ch छ in a step by step video.
You will learn how to pronounce and write this alphabet and also three words starting with the alphabet chh.
Chh छ is a palatal sound and an aspirated version of the previous consonant "ch" . Chh is a hard sound. Chh छ has no equivalent in English. So ,it can be a little tricky. But remember that this has a prominent "h" sound in the end which is the result of aspiration. If you put your hand in front of your mouth you will feel your breath escaping from the mouth hitting your hand.
The tongue seals the air behind it by lying around the roof of the mouth and that seal is broken by the consonant chh.
yeh "taalu dhwanii." hai. taalu means palate.
Chh is similar to the "ch" in church, cheese, chat but with the release of breath, or aspiration.
There should be a puff of breath when you say it.
This Video helps kids, as well as adults to learn the Hindi Alphabets from Devanagari Script.
