Anti-war picket of John Howard at the Australia Club – 19 May

Anti-war and pro-refugee groups were among those who staged a vivid protest outside the Australia Club when John Howard addressed the Institute of Public Affairs at a dinner on 19 May. Apart from banners there was a reference to the scandal of US treatment of prisoners at the infamous Abu Ghraib prison in Baghdad:
