Sign InBattles unleash their much vaunted third album La Di Da Di for Warp. Twelve tracks that, whilst sticking with the group's trademark blend of organic repetition through playful melodies and seriously flexible drumming, continues the journey started on Mirrored and continued on Gloss Drop to excavate a sound built around infinite loops of experimental instrumentation. Starting off with lead single The Yabba the group throw a curve ball through with a wall of noise slowly building for a few seconds before everything swirls into place and that synth riff that will be stuck in your head for days to come yearns into place and the drums gallop into stride with that twitchy, twangy groove. Its a proper banger this one and sets the pace for the rest of La Di Da Di perfectly. Second coming Dot Net rolls into place for round 2 with a drum and bass combo that could almost be an acoustic take on the second side of deejay selek, a short 'n' sweet roller that paves the way forward into FF Bada where the instruments literally chant with a can't stop gloss bounce. It's hard to pick a favorite or single out any tracks as absolute highlights as each piece perfectly folds into the next while maintaining a singularity absent from a lot of modern groups. Tracks like Cacio e Pepe that give a downbeat spun out heady euphoria shuffle up next to full scale epic sliders like Tyne Wear which is just begging to be turned up LOUD and proper solid synth gear as crafted on Dot Com. Three albums in and at the top of their game and way ahead of all the contemporaries, La Di Da Di will satisfy fans of old while giving newcomers a perfect entrance to the visionary world they inhabit that sounds quite unlike anything else out there today.

Having made no secret of his admiration for the Eski sound, Zomby and Wiley finally get down to business and unleash the collaborative track 'Step 2001' a track so heavy it's sure to cause an avalanche in grime in 2015. Expertly sculpting Wiley's vocal over the finest ice rink-esque instrumental this side of Bow E3, Zomby's production is the culmination of various homages on wax from the 8-bar/8-bit grime of his early Hyperdub work to various interviews stating the influence and importance of the grime and its influence over his own music. The track could be ripped straight off an OG Wiley Kat 12" but it's also instantly recognizable as a Zomby production and with Wiley's flow tighter than Zomby's hold on his spliff (dub's) we'd say this is one of the hottest 12"s of the year.

Bleep are proud to release the debut EP of a mysterious producer named Zap Francis. These beats first aired on Black Milk’s Boiler Room set about a year ago but other than that, not much is known about Zap Francis.
When Black Milk (rapper and producer from Detroit) was questioned on where the tracks came from, he answered: “Zap Francis gave them to me”.
With this debut E.P., Zap delivers 6 tracks of instrumental hip-hop that soundtracks journeys across intergalactic realms.
From the opening hi-hat of shuffle and bass and synth-line drops of ‘Scuffer’, you know what you are dealing with here. The soothing tones of ‘Spirit Felt’ shows a more delicate side to the mysterious producer. From the neck-snapping snares of ‘Chime End’ to the frenetic closing track of ‘Age Of’, the self-titled marks a new era of Zap…

Triple Vinyl description:
Planet Mu celebrate 20 years of releasing game-changing, fiercely independent electronic music by distilling the heaviest cuts from the triple CD collection into this deluxe triple 12" pressing where legacy Mu artists rub shoulders with artists at the forefront of experimental club electronica. Stretching the breadth of everything from old school jungle from Remarc and newly adapted junglist flavours such as Machinedrum, from FWD-facing grime from Mr. Mitch to digi-dub house from Ital and from classic Mu artists including Venetian Snares, Luke Vibert, Jega to Vex'd and Mike Paradinas himself. The new wave of Mu artists breaking through in scenes from Jlin, John T Gast & Ekoplekz while the labels recent exposure of footwork to the world is heavily catered for with DJ Nate, DJ Diamond and Traxman all dropping bangers (and works) It's a real testament to Planet Mu that such a wide ranging compilation that when listened to from start to finish flows with a real consistency and expertly joins the dots between scenes and producers, seemingly worlds apart, can be united on the Planet Mu.

UK duo Darkstar return with their third album Foam Island, released by Warp Records. While their last album (2013’s News From Nowhere) dealt in tripped out, pastoral psychedelia, Foam Island sees Darkstar return to a more beat-driven style of electronic production that often recalls their early 12”s for labels like Hyperdub. It’s an expansive, cinematic album, where everything from the minimalism of Philip Glass, the carefree leftfield pop of Micachu, and the raw grime rhythms of Dexplicit are channeled into the duo’s sublime vocal songcraft. Interspersed throughout the album are interviews conducted by the band in West Yorkshire, expressing the political disenfranchisement amongst the area’s youth.
The album is released in the UK on 25th September and a week later in all other territories.

Long-running film and TV soundtrack organisation Silva Screen move into the Delian mode here with this 7” pressing of two crucial pieces from the first lady of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop , Delia Derbyshire. Radiophonic freaks will be well aware of these tracks, but still moist at the thought of grabbing them on super limited 7 vinyl, gatefold sleeve with pull-out poster. For the uninitiated, this a perfect primer to these next-level sonics. ‘The Delian Mode’, the A side track on the disc, was composed as incidental music for the BBC’s long-running star gazing series The Sky at Night in 1969 and ‘Blue Veils and Golden Sands’ was written for a 1967 documentary. You read that right, this music was made in the 1960s. Incredible.

The Detroit artist follows up to the Exhibitionist comes 11 years on from the original with a CD and DVD package followed by three accompanying EP releases. Exhibitionist 2 promises to be an observation about the art form of DJ-ing from a different perspective, and is an attempt by Mills to go behind the scenes and inside the mind of an electronic musician. The four tracks on offer from Part 1 of the project resonate with the Mills we are familiar with – deep, conscious and space probing techno.
