“Affirmative consent” just means mutual desire. And it should definitely be the standard.
Affirmative consent isn't based on the idea that every sexual encounter is a rigid contract between two parties. No one is suggesting that college students need to run through a checklist before unbuttoning each other's shirts. Instead, it's more about broadly reorienting about how we approach ...

A North Carolina woman made quite a fashion statement by wearing the same dress that got her daughter sent home from school to her graduation.
A North Carolina woman made quite a fashion statement by wearing the same dress that got her daughter sent home from school to her graduation. Central Davidson High School senior Violet Burkhart wanted to mark her last day of ever being a high school student by dressing up.

An amazingly hilarious tale about a lady who was groped while leaving a movie theater in Boston and put her monster voice hobby to good use.
A man that looked to be at least fifteen years older than myself who was walking near me in the same direction took an extra step to catch up to me and put his arm around my shoulder and grabbed my breast, and said “Hey”. I'm small. I'm blonde. I wear t-shirts, jeans and old sneakers.

Photos of the Day: Pro-choice decorating at Hobby Lobby Edit
I'm not so sure if the way to protest a business treating their workers badly is to heap more shit on those same workers. I promise you that it isn't going to be the CEO whose job is at risk if they don't get those cute protests on aisle four cleaned up right the nows.

"Obvious Child" isn't just a hilarious, honest, and adorable movie; it's a major turning point in how the entertainment industry portrays women and abortion. Join two of the amazing women behind "Obvious Child" and more to talk about why this film is so awesome — and important!

Tune in and hear from Planned Parenthood Action Fund's Dawn Laguens, Advocates for Youth's Julia Reticker-Flynn, 'Obvious Child' writer and director Gillian Robespierre, and producer Elisabeth Holm. Our talk will be moderated by our own Lori Adelman.

"His whole thing was raising me to be a man. What that meant for him was preparing me to someday be a husband (to a woman) and father. He was often frustrated with me because I showed so little interest in the things that were a part of that training."

In an essay on Gawker entitled “The Reality of Dating White Women When You’re Black,” Ernest Baker writes: “Let’s be real, blonde hair and blue eyes are fucking attractive.”

This is a guest post in response written by an anonymous woman living in New York City.

You know who you are.
You know who you are. You are that white guy in an Ethnic Studies class who's exploring the idea that poor people might have babies to stay on welfare. Or some person arguing over drinks that maybe a lot of women do fake rape for attention. Or, recently, someone insisting that I consider the ...
