Trey Gowdy blasts Susan Rice - I get tougher questions in the Bojangles drive thru
Trey Gowdy on Greta Monday night blasted Susan Rice for her lack of regret over lying about the Benghazi attack in which 4 Americans die/ Gowdy called her "stunningly arrogant" and said she was continuing to peddle a "false narrative."
Rice blamed the misstatement on faulty intelligence. But Gowdy wasn't buying it. "There is no evidence to support that false narrative of a video," he began. "Not a scintilla of evidence. All of the evidence pointed exactly to what she claimed it wasn't: a preplanned, coordinated attack."
"So she was fabulously wrong when she said it the first time," he declared, "and stunningly arrogant in her refusal to express any regret for lying to our fellow citizens."
Given Rice's insistence, Susteren asked the congressman what could be done to hold her and the administration accountable.
"I would love the chance to ask follow-up questions of Susan Rice, because David Gregory apparently did not avail himself of that opportunity," he said, referencing Sunday's interview. "Greta, I just listened to the the clip. I get tougher questions in the Bojangles drive-thru than he asked her."
"There's no regret about lying to your fellow citizens?" Gowdy continued. "No regret about the fact that in 18 months, not a single solitary person has been brought to justice? No regret for misleading the families and the loved ones of those four murdered Americans? I can certainly help her if she is struggling to come up with an area of regret."
Susteren also asked the congressman why, given the absurd nature of the White House's video story, Rice and the administration still tried to cover up the attack.
Gowdy noted that "we were in the midst of a [presidential] campaign," with President Obama touting the effective defeat of al-Qaida. "Al-Qaida was not on the run," he said, "they were at the front door of our facility in Benghazi, getting ready to kill our ambassador and burn it down."
"So she can either tell the truth, or she can blame it on a video for which there is no evidence whatsoever," he continued. "And she opted to protect her career and parrot the talking points that were provided to her by the White House."

National Security Adviser Susan Rice blasted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s upcoming address to Congress, calling his March 3 address “destructive” to relations between the U.S. and Israel. Rice, in an interview with PBS’ Charlie Rose on Tuesday evening, said the relationship between the two countries “has always been bipartisan” but that it has been hampered by partisan moves in recent weeks. Netanyahu will not meet with President Barack Obama during his visit, nor will Vice President Joe Biden and several congressional Democrats attend his speech.

Susan Rice Calls Netanyahu Trip 'destructive'
National Security Adviser Susan Rice blasted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s upcoming address to Congress, calling his March 3 address “destructive” to relations between the U.S. and Israel. Rice, in an interview with PBS’ Charlie Rose on Tuesday evening, said the relationship between the two countries “has always been bipartisan” but that it has been hampered by partisan moves in recent weeks. U.S., China united against N. Korea′s nuke development: Rice
수전 라이스 ″美中,
And ahead of the U.S.-China summit,... Washington has made it clear that the two countries are united... in their opposition to North Korea′s nuclear ambitions.
Here′s our Han Da-eun with more. U.S. National Security Advisor Susan Rice says... neither the United States nor China will accept North Korea as a nuclear weapons state.
Speaking to students at George Washington University on Monday,... Rice also reiterated that North Korea should stop developing weapons of mass destruction.
She said the weapons threaten regional stability and the respective national security interests of the U.S. and China.
″China and the United States are equally united in demanding the complete and verifiable denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. We firmly oppose North Korea′s efforts to develop nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles.″
Calling China ″a fulcrum of influence″ for North Korea,... Rice indirectly called on Beijing to play a more active role in steering Pyongyang away from its ′two-track′ development policy of nuclear weapons and the economy.
″This week′s meetings between President Obama and President Xi would be another opportunity to discuss how we can sharpen Pyongyang′s choices between having nuclear weapons and developing economically.″
Such remarks are garnering extra attention as they suggest Obama and Xi will send a strong message to North Korea,... specifically urging it to give up its two-track development policy.
And as China′s North Korea policy has grown more ambiguous since Kim Jong-un came to power,... watchers say it′ll be interesting to see how far China is willing to go to rein in its long-time ally.

US-China relationship Is Not A Zero-sum Game, says Susan Rice
A top American foreign policy official said that the U.S.-China relationship is not a zero-sum game and the United States "welcomes a rising China that is peaceful, stable, prosperous, and a responsible player in global affairs."
Susan Rice, U.S. President Barack Obama’s National Security Advisor, made the speech on Monday on the eve of the upcoming state visit to the United States by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
“It’s natural that China takes on greater leadership to match its economic development and growing capabilities," said Rice. "When China is invested in helping resolve regional and global problems, the United States - and the world - benefits. We want the Chinese people to succeed. When China and the United States work together, the world is more secure and more prosperous. That’s the truth.”
Rice noted that, under the Obama administration, the United States has "deepened our engagement with China at every level — maximizing our cooperation on areas of mutual interest while confronting and managing our disagreements."
"This isn't a zero-sum game," she stressed, adding that "our capacity to manage our differences is greater than that".
On the Taiwan issue, Rice reiterated the "one China” policy of the United States.
"The longstanding position of the United States is unchanged. We remain committed to our 'one China' policy."
The top U.S. official on foreign policy said President Obama will "continue our frank and comprehensive discussions when he welcomes President Xi to the White House later this week for a State Visit."
President Xi will begin his first state visit to the U.S. on Tuesday in the city of Seattle before traveling to Washington, D.C., the U.S. national capital, for a summit meeting with President Obama on Friday.
Describing the China-U.S. relationship as "a vital relationship of the 21st century", Rice said that building a stable and resilient relationship with China will be the focus of American foreign policy.
"This relationship is too big and too important to treat with anything less than our full, good-faith effort. And, you can be sure that our relationship with China — one that is stable, productive, and resilient — will remain at the center of American foreign policy for years to come," she said.
Students who listened to the speech expressed their expectations for the further development of the China-U.S relationship.
"As a student, I have deeply benefited from the development of the China-U.S. relationship that the two countries pay great attention to. For example, my visa has been extended from one year to five years, which is very convenient for me as well as the group of international students. I hope the meeting between President Xi and President Obama will bring more practical achievements in sucn aspects as culture, politics and economy. I'm looking forward to President Xi's visit to the United States," said Cao Gerui, a Chinese student studying in the United States.
"Ten years ago when I was walking on the street in China. I looked very different to the people's eyes. But today I look normal because they understand who I am and my culture, and understand more about the United States. This will reduce a lot of misunderstandings and benefit cooperation between the U.S. and Chinese people. I look forward to Chairman Xi and President Obama's meeting together in Washington, D.C., to further benefit the relationship and cooperation of the U.S. and China," said Anna, an American student who spent years living both in China and the United States.

DR tells China cyber espionage is more than an irritant, must stop
U.S. national security adviser Susan Rice issued a stern warning to China on Monday before President Xi Jinping's visit that state-sponsored cyber espionage must stop, calling it a national security concern and a critical factor in U.S.-China relations.
"This isn't a mild irritation, it's an economic and national security concern to the United States," Rice said during remarks at George Washington University.
"It puts enormous strain on our bilateral relationship, and it is a critical factor in determining the future trajectory of U.S.-China ties," she said.
President Barack Obama and Xi are expected to have an intense back-and-forth about the issue when the Chinese leader visits the White House this week.
"Cyber-enabled espionage that targets personal and corporate information for the economic gain of businesses undermines our long-term economic cooperation and it needs to stop," Rice said.
Xi said in a written interview with the Wall Street Journal China's government does not engage in the theft of commercial secrets and does not support Chinese companies that do so.
"Cyber theft of commercial secrets and hacking attacks against government networks are both illegal; such acts are criminal offences and should be punished according to law and relevant international conventions," Xi said.

WASHINGTON: US national security adviser Susan Rice issued a stern warning to China on Monday before President Xi Jinping's visit that state-sponsored cyber espionage must stop, calling it a national security concern and a critical factor in U.S.-China relations.
"This isn't a mild irritation, it's an economic and national security concern to the United States," Rice said during remarks at George Washington University.

U.S.-China relationship not a zero-sum game: Rice
U.S. National Security Adviser Susan Rice said Monday the U.S.-China relationship is not a zero-sum game.
In her words, the U.S. is "steadily and methodically" expanding its cooperation with China.
Rice said the U.S. media is disproportionally focused on U.S.-China differences such as on cyber security and the South China Sea.
She warned the media risks losing sight of the larger arc of progress in the US's bilateral relationship with China.

US, China united in denuclearizing N.Korea: US NSA Rice / YTN
U.S. National Security Advisor Susan Rice said that the United States and China stand together in denuclearizing North Korea in a verifiable manner.
At a preview in Washington on Monday of the upcoming summit between U.S. President Barack Obama and Chinese President Xi Jinping, Rice added in her speech that the two superpowers will not accept North Korea as a nuclear weapons country.
Xi is set to arrive in Seattle later today (Tuesday) for his first state visit to the U.S.
She also said, Washington and Beijing are resolutely against North Korea's development of nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles as they threaten regional stability and global security.
In particular, the top U.S. security advisor said that during the summit talks between Obama and Xi in Washington later this week, the two leaders will have a chance to discuss narrowing the North's alternatives in choosing between a nuclear weapons program or economic development.

Rice: Chinese Cyber Spying Threat to US-China Progress
U.S. National Security Advisor Susan Rice warned China on Monday that Beijing-sponsored cyber espionage is a major stumbling block to U.S.-China relations, saying that such spying must stop.
Rice spoke in Washington, three days ahead of a state visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping. Analysts say this Friday's meetings between Xi and President Barack Obama are expected to be blunt, focusing in large part on cyber spying, the global economy and China's territorial ambitions in the South China Sea.
"This isn't a mild irritation," Rice said of numerous incidents linking Beijing to large-scale cyber theft. "It's an economic and a national security concern" that places "enormous strain on our bilateral relationship."
She told her audience at George Washington University that espionage targeting personal and corporate information "for the economic gain of businesses undermines our long-term economic cooperation."
She also said Obama will use the meeting to address U.S. concerns on Beijing's human rights record, and will insist on maintaining navigation and commerce through crowded sea lanes in disputed areas of the South China Sea.
Rice's comments on cyber security echo those of the president, who last week told U.S. business leaders that China's theft of trade secrets is an "act of aggression that we must stop."
U.S. officials have suggested imposing sanctions on China, and the president said Washington is preparing "a number of measures" aimed at showing Beijing that "this is not just a matter of us being mildly upset."
Ahead of the Chinese leader's arrival in Washington, he is holding meetings with U.S. and Chinese technology executives in the West Coast city of Seattle.
