I've spoken to a lot of people who are surprised that you don't need a Kindle to buy e-books from Amazon. I'm a writer of children's books – I wrote the Act Normal series of books for young readers which you can get on Amazon either as an e-book or as a physical book like this. - just type Act Normal into Amazon and you'll find them. And even though my books are best-sellers in the kindle chapter books hit list, I'm still finding that a lot of people aren't aware of just how many devices you can read Kindle books on. Put simply, you can get a free app to download and read kindle books on just about anything with a screen. Google nexus tablets, ipads, iphones, any kind of smart phone, any android tablet. They take about 5 minutes to download, they're all free and they all work the same way pretty much. There are specialist Kindle tablets, of course, but that just means they've got the software pre-loaded. Anything can run a kindle app. So, once you've gone to the shop on your device– whether it's the android shop or itunes, and installed the free app, just open it up, (you'll have to set up an account – but that's easy enough) then you've got access to everything on Amazon through their shop. Start by clicking store in the corner of the screen, type in “Act Normal“– or whatever you're looking for, and there you go. Select buy now and the book will be delivered to your device and you can start reading. The great thing is that if you've got the app on several different devices – say your phone and your tablet, you can stop reading on one and pick the other one up and it'll know exactly where you are in the book. And please, if you do have children and you're looking for books for them, check out the Act Normal series – they're great fun, and I try to keep the prices as low as I can.
