A hand (med./lat.: manus, pl. manūs) is a prehensile, multi-fingered extremity located at the end of an arm or forelimb of primates such as humans, chimpanzees, monkeys, and lemurs. A few other vertebrates such as the koala (which has two opposable thumbs on each "hand" and fingerprints remarkably similar to human fingerprints) are often described as having either "hands" or "paws" on their front limbs.
Hands are the main structures for physically manipulating the environment, used for both gross motor skills (such as grasping a large object) and fine motor skills (such as picking up a small pebble). The fingertips contain some of the densest areas of nerve endings on the body, are the richest source of tactile feedback, and have the greatest positioning capability of the body; thus the sense of touch is intimately associated with hands. Like other paired organs (eyes, feet, legs), each hand is dominantly controlled by the opposing brain hemisphere, so that handedness, or the preferred hand choice for single-handed activities such as writing with a pen, reflects individual brain functioning.

En film om Gustaf Dalén
I'm here waiting for something new to break my heart
So callous laden, I can't feel a thing at all
Will You catch my fall?
From lost and not found, to run and not hide
My hand inside... (Your hand)
Fear is keeping time with the beating of my heart
Doin' way too much thinkin'
And it's tearing me apart
But I, I feel You reach for me
From lost and not found, to run and not hide
My hand inside... (Your hand)
Losing my grip falling so far
My hand inside Your hand
I hear Your voice and follow
I called her yesterday and she told me, that
Well, she was just talking me about the weather man on television
And I'd thought you'd be interested in knowing about this
It's pretty interesting, but well, well
Before they actually put the weather man on the television
With the weather board
They just put the weather man's hand pointing to stuff
And sometimes, they drew on the boards like
They would draw clouds as rain
And, sometimes they would draw maybe, lightning
And, and sometimes a sun if it was gonna' be sunny
But the thing that they did the weather man had to get
Get to the station early because
I called her yesterday and she told me ummm that uhh
Well, she was just talking me about the weather man on television
