Director, Business Growth and Learning Development

Rachel commenced at Victoria University in 2005 and has worked across our TAFE and Higher Education programs.

Rachel currently oversees Victoria University Institute of Technology’s (VUIT) Business Growth and Learning Development functions, providing support across VUIT in identifying Business Development opportunities and leading VUIT’s transition to high-touch, interactive blended delivery.

She has lectured in numerous undergraduate units in the Bachelor of Business, and played a key role in developing leading edge curriculum for the Professional Development capstone.

Rachel’s strong interest in contemporary approaches to learning and teaching has seen her lead a major shift in delivery practices across VU’s vocational programs.

Rachel has significant experience in building partnerships with education providers and industry. She has delivered numerous programs with Universities in Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong and also led the growth of Vocational and Higher Education diploma programs at partner sites across China.

Her background in senior executive roles within the major events sector provides a solid grounding in the needs and expectations of industry, and an understanding of the customer focus required when designing programs for external clients.

Rachel’s experience in leading major government-funded experiential learning programs provides significant insights into how coaching, mentoring and social learning can be utilised to support adult learning in the workplace. Her interest in this area is being further explored through research into social learning networks and their role in supporting work-based learning.
