Dare Art Alade - popularly known as Darey - is a Nigerian multi-platinum selling and award-winning musician and singer-songwriter. He is the son of the renowned Nigerian entertainer, Art Alade.
Darey, though very successful in Nigeria, has his eyes on the international market and has plans to re-release his music in conjunction with a major international record label.
Dare (pronounced Da-Ray) Art Alade was born to legendary Nigerian Jazz pioneer Art Alade and Olapeju Alade. Dare, as a child, used to rummage through his father’s extensive Jazz collection and tag along with him to his concerts. These early experiences gave him his first taste of ‘showbiz’.
Dare honed his skills at an early age, singing with several choirs, including the National Troupe of Nigeria Choir and then the Cathedral Choir. From the age 15, he began performing extensively in clubs around Lagos, Ibadan and other cities in Nigeria. It was during one of those late night sessions he met an executive at Cool FM, a major Radio station, who appreciated his voice, and his ability to interact with his audience. The determined teenager began shuttling between Cool FM and the University of Lagos where he was studying for a degree in Music, and sang with the a cappella group The Chordwebs. During his time at Cool FM, he had the opportunity to acquire the basic knowledge of radio production and marketing.
Matthew Jonathan "Matt" Darey (born 29 November 1968, Leicester, England) has been a trance music producer since 1994 and is also a member of Lost Tribe. He is perhaps best known for his work in the Euphoria trance series and for 'Gamemaster' (as Lost Tribe) and his remixes of Agnelli & Nelson's "El Niño". In 2005, his first major U.S. albums, an EP, Point Zero (featuring the Li Kwan song of the same name), and a double album, Upfront Trance, were released. His works have sold a total of over two million copies.[citation needed] Marcella Woods, is often a guest vocalist on his recordings.
Darey frequently performs his trance sets at UK clubs such as Gatecrasher and Slinky, and over the internet through a monthly show on Digitally Imported's European Trance station. On 13 August 2005, he debuted a new show on Digitally Imported called Nocturnal, which became a weekly show in April 2006.
The Nocturnal Podcast was nominated for the best podcast at Winter Music Conference in Miami in 2008. Darey was nominated in 2009 for Best Radio Mix Show DJ, at the International Dance Music Awards.
You'll come back you know (x2)
Time after time you walk away,
only to return
Always the same, always the same
after each sojourn
You repeat those worn out lines,
I have heard before
Still I know down deep inside,
you'd never close the door
You'd never close the door
(Refrain)
You'll come back you know
you'll always come back to me
No matter how far you go
you'll always come back
you'll come back you know
you'll always come back to me
No matter how far you go
you'll always come back
you'll always come back to me
you'll come back you know
Sometimes you wait out all the year,
but mostly just a day
The loneliness you cannot bear
although you'd never say
Instead you say those worn out lines
to me just the same
knowing that I will resign
and take you back again
(Refrain)
You'll always come back
You'll always come back to me
You'll always come back to me (x2)
You'll come back you know (x2)
