Messaging
Basics
To see your Page's messages, click Messages at the top of your Page.
Keep in mind that you'll need to turn on messaging for your Page to see messages.
You'll need to be an admin to change the message settings for your Page. If you're an admin:
- Click Settings at the top of your Page
- Click Messages
- Click to check or uncheck the box next to Allow people to contact my Page privately by showing the Message button
- Click Save Changes
To flag or unflag your Page's messages:
- Click Messages at the top of your Page
- Click to check the box next to the messages you want to flag or unflag
- Click Actions
, then select Flag or Unflag
An orange line will appear to the left of flagged messages. To see all your Page's flagged messages, click Messages at the top of your Page, then click Flagged on the right.
Responding to Messages
You can only send messages to people who've sent a message to your Page. Anyone who is a moderator, editor or admin can send messages from your Page.
To respond to a message your Page has received, go to your Page's messages.
To get Very responsive to messages below your Page's cover photo, your Page must have done both of the following over the last 7 days:
- Responded to 90% of messages
- Maintained a median response time of 5 minutes for all replies sent
When your Page has the icon, anyone can see that your Page is very responsive to messages.
When your Page isn't yet very responsive to messages, only people who help manage your Page can see responsiveness info below the Page's cover photo.
Note: Only Pages that have allowed people to contact the Page will have responsiveness info.
Any message that your Page hasn't replied to is an unanswered message. Keep in mind that messages that have been read but not replied to are marked as unanswered.
To see your Page's unanswered messages:
- Click Messages at the top of your Page
- Click Unanswered on the right
Saved replies are templates of messages that you can create, save, and reuse when you reply to messages as your Page.
To create a saved reply:
- Click Messages at the top of your Page.
- Click any message.
- Click Manage Replies. (Note: You may need to click
in the bottom left to expand the saved replies window)
- Click Create Reply.
- Enter a reply title, then enter your message. You can also add personalization or an image to the reply.
- Click Save Reply.
Note: When you create a saved reply, anyone with a Page role who can send messages as the Page will be able to use it.

To edit or delete a saved reply:
- Click Messages at the top of your Page
- Click any message
- Click Manage Replies (Note: You may need to click
in the bottom left to expand the saved replies window)
- Click the saved reply you want to edit or delete
To use a saved reply in a message from your Page:
- Click Messages at the top of your Page
- Click the message you want to reply to
- Click a saved reply to use it in your message (Note: You may need to click
in the bottom left to expand the saved replies window)
- Edit your message, then click Reply
You can add personalization to a saved reply so that specific info will be automatically added to the message (ex: the first name of the person you’re replying to, the first name of the person sending the message, your website URL).
To add personalization to a saved reply:
- Create a saved reply, or go to the saved reply you want to edit
- Click
Personalize
- Click the personalization you want
- Click Save Reply
To add an image to saved reply:
- Create a saved reply, or go to the saved reply you want to edit
- Click
Add Image
- Choose an image from your computer
- Click Save Reply
