You'll need to be an admin or editor to pin Page posts. To pin a post to the top of your Page's Timeline:

  1. Go to the post on your Page's Timeline
  2. Hover over the top-right corner of the post and click
  3. Select Pin to Top

You can run a promotion (ex: sweepstakes, contest) directly on your Page or through an app on Facebook. Your promotion must follow the promotion guidelines.

To collect entries, you can ask people to:

  • Like or comment on a post on your Page (ex: "Like this post to enter")
  • Publish to your Page
  • Send your Page a message

Personal profiles can't be used to collect entries. For example, asking people to share a post on their profiles to enter your promotion isn't permitted (ex: "Share on your profile to enter" or "Share on your friend's profile to get additional entries").

If you think your promotion was removed by mistake, let us know.

Visibility & Editing

There are 2 ways to control who can see your Page's posts:

  • Limit your post's audience so only certain people can see it
  • Target your post to certain audiences in News Feed

If less than 5,000 people like your Page, you'll need to first make sure you've allowed targeting and privacy options for your Page posts:

  1. Click Settings at the top of your Page
  2. Click News Feed Audience and Visibility for Posts
  3. Click to check the box next to Allow News Feed audience selection and post visibility options for this Page
  4. Click Save Changes
Limit Your Post's Audience

When you limit your post's audience, you can choose who can see your post based on their location or language. For example, if you limit the language of your post's audience to Spanish, only people who have Spanish set as their language on Facebook or list Spanish as one of their languages on their profile will be eligible to see your post on your Page, in News Feed and in search.

To limit your post's audience:

  1. Click before publishing your post
  2. Select Location / Language
  3. Type the locations or languages of the people you want to see your post and click Save Post Settings

Keep in mind that even if people share your Page's post with their friends, only friends in the audience you choose for the post will be able to see it.

Target Your Post

You can add targeting to your Page post so that certain audiences are more likely to see it in News Feed. Unlike limiting your post's audience, adding News Feed targeting doesn't affect who can see the post on your Page.

To add targeting:

  1. Clickbefore publishing your post
  2. Click Narrow Audience and select one or more options
  3. Click the options on the right to adjust the targeting

As you add targeting, the number of people your post is targeted to will update next to Potential Audience. The minimum number of people you can target your post to is 20.

Hiding a post that you've shared from your Page will remove it from your Page's Timeline, but you can still see it in your Page's activity log. From your activity log, you can choose to show posts that you've previously hidden. When you delete a post, you'll permanently remove it from your Page, including your Page's activity log.

To hide or delete a post from your Page:

  1. Hover over the post on your Page's Timeline
  2. Click in the top-right corner
  3. Select Hide from Page to hide it or select Delete... then click Delete to delete it

Keep in mind that if a post you've hidden was shared, it may still be visible to the audience it was shared with other places on Facebook, such as in News Feed and search. Also, photos you've hidden from your Page's Timeline will still be visible when people visit your Page's Photos section.

Official Events are events listed on Ticketmaster that will be automatically imported to the official Pages of performers and professional sports teams related to each event. These events will appear in the Events tab of related Pages. It may take up to 48 hours for an Official Event to be imported from the time it's released on Ticketmaster.

Changes to details of Official Events can be made directly on Ticketmaster or on Facebook. Keep in mind that once an Official Event has been edited on Facebook, later changes made to the Ticketmaster listing won't be imported.

There are several ways Official Events can work with your Page:

  • If you've already created an event at the same time and location as the Ticketmaster listing, the Official Event won't be imported. However, if you haven't added ticketing info, a link to your Ticketmaster listing will be automatically added to your event.

  • If you'd like an Official Event to replace an event you've created, you can hide your event. People who’ve already responded to your event will not be notified that you’ve hidden it.

  • If you don't want an Official Event to appear on your Page, you can hide it.

To hide all Official Events, click in the top-right corner of your Events tab, then click to uncheck the box next to Show Imported Events on Calendar.

Engagement

How often you should publish depends on your Page. Each Page has a unique audience that may respond better to more or fewer updates. You can experiment with different publishing schedules and see what works best by checking engagement metrics in your Page Insights.

If you notice that engagement with your Page has decreased, try varying your posts and their frequency. Create the types of posts that have been successful in the past and experiment with new types of posts.

How helpful did you find this answer?

Engagement will be different for every Page. Generally, the most engaging Page posts are short, original, benefit the person viewing the content and connect to your objectives and identity.

People tend to respond well to the following types of posts:

  • Photos and videos: Bright, colorful images depicting human interaction are particularly successful. These could be photos of a seasonal menu, in-store event, new products arriving or people enjoying their experience with your product or service.
  • Facebook Offers: Bring people to your business with an offer they can claim and share with their friends. Publishing discounts and promotions is a good way to get the attention of new and existing customers.
  • Questions: Asking questions encourages interaction and tells people their opinions matter. When you ask for feedback or thoughts, make sure to respond in the comments so people know you're listening.

Your Page Insights can also help you identify which of your posts are the most successful. We recommend that you go to your Page Insights to see which posts get the most likes, comments and shares. Learn more about identifying the best post types for your Page.

It’s possible that an update you publish on your Page may not be shown to everyone who likes your Page because News Feed space is limited. The News Feed algorithm uses several factors to determine top stories shared by people and Pages, including the number of comments, who shared the story, and what type of post it is (ex: photo, video, status update). Experiment with different types of posts and see what your audience responds to best by checking your Page Insights. To help increase the chance that your audience will see your posts, you can boost your posts. Learn more about boosted posts.

The best way to have your posts show in News Feed for the people who like your Page is to publish things you think your audience will like, comment on, or share with their friends. You can use your Page Insights to learn more about the types of posts that your audience is most interested in. You can also boost your posts, which increases the chance you'll reach a larger number of people.

In addition to publishing, you can:

  • Create an event from your Page to let people know about events or new products. When someone RSVPs to your event, their friends may see a story about it in News Feed.
  • Boost your Page posts, which increases the likelihood that the people who like your Page will see your posts, giving them more opportunities to engage with your Page.
  • Partner with other brands or organizations to create promotions on your Pages, and publish on their Pages as your Page.
  • Ask your customers to leave a rating or review on your Page.
  • Create a Facebook offer or run a sweepstakes or contest on your Page.
