Andrew is the English form of a given name and surname common in many countries. Alternatives include André, Andrey, Andrei, Andrzej, Andrej, András, Andrés, Andrius, Andreas, Andreu, Anders, Antero and Endrew. ‘Andrew’ is a common name in English-speaking countries. In the 1990s it was among the top ten most popular names for boys in those countries. In Italian, the equivalent to "Andrew" is "Andrea", though "Andrea" is feminine in most other languages. Andrew is frequently shortened to "Andy" or "Drew".
The word is derived from the Greek: Ανδρέας, Andreas, itself related to Ancient Greek: ἀνήρ/ἀνδρός aner/andros, "man" (as opposed to "woman"), thus meaning "manly" and, as consequence, "strong", "courageous", and "warrior". In the King James Bible, the Greek "Ἀνδρέας" is translated as Andrew.
In 1990, the name Andrew was the seventh most popular name in Australia. In 1980, it was the 19th most common name, while in 1970, it was the 31st most common name. Andrew was the second most popular boys name in the Northern Territory in 1980. In Victoria, Andrew was the third most popular name for a boy in the 1970s.
Andrew Jackson (March 15, 1767 – June 8, 1845) was the seventh President of the United States (1829–1837). Based in frontier Tennessee, Jackson was a politician and army general who defeated the Creek Indians at the Battle of Horseshoe Bend (1814), and the British at the Battle of New Orleans (1815). A polarizing figure who dominated the Second Party System in the 1820s and 1830s, as president he destroyed the national bank and relocated most Indian tribes from the Southeast to west of the Mississippi River. His enthusiastic followers created the modern Democratic Party. The 1830–1850 period later became known as the era of Jacksonian democracy.
Jackson was nicknamed "Old Hickory" because of his toughness and aggressive personality; he fought in duels, some fatal to his opponents. He was a rich slaveholder, who appealed to the common men of the United States, and fought politically against what he denounced as a closed, undemocratic aristocracy. He expanded the spoils system during his presidency to strengthen his political base.
Andrew Ross McMahon (born September 3, 1982) is a singer/songwriter. He is the vocalist, pianist and primary songwriter for the bands Something Corporate and Jack's Mannequin; he also performs solo.
McMahon was born in Concord, Massachusetts. He briefly lived in New Jersey until 1991, when his family moved to Bexley, Ohio where he attended Cassingham Elementary School. His family relocated frequently due to his father's occupation in retail. McMahon recalls that while he was in fourth grade, they briefly stayed in California to support his mother's family after the loss of her brother. The death had a large impact on the family, and Andrew has a tattoo on his forearm in his uncle's memory. Following the death of his uncle, who was a musician himself, McMahon became inspired to get involved with music, and began teaching himself piano very soon afterward.
McMahon's family decided to settle in California shortly before he entered eighth grade. He would later describe himself as "a pudgy, outgoing, artistic little kid who never quite fit into the California scene". He graduated from the public Dana Hills High School in 2000.

A kidnapped child... A Mother's desperate five-year search... a reunion that neither one expected.
Andrew: [tells Gail about his revelations after the kidnapping, sobs] We never stayed at the same place for long. We always moved around, mostly motels. The last place we lived - the one we stayed the longest - was a trailer. He wouldn't let me go outside during the day; I just stayed in the room watching TV. I didn't go to school, I didn't know any kids my age. There was just daddy, her, and me. Pattie, she - she hit me. He locked me in the closet. At night, they would put me outside on a long leash. I climbed up into a tree and slept. There were animals out there; it was dark... all the time. There was nobody to talk to, nobody to play with - nobody came there. It was just nobody but them. I was by myself. Sometimes - all the time in the beginning - I'd think about home, then I got so - when I thought about you, it made me mad. Daddy said you didn't want me, that you didn't care about me. But you did. I know you did!::[Andrew and Gail hug each other]::Andrew: I'm home, mommy. I'm home.
Da: Shall I die of old age before I learn what animates you so? Speak swiftly son. Lest you consign your poor father to the grave for curiosity.::Son: Father, I'm gay!::Da: Nay. 'Tis not true. I am not deserving of such good fortune. A son of mine gay?
You will do, what you do
Gotta go
Gotta have it
Ill just sit around, let everybody talk
And I will show, what I show
I cant help it, its habit
Ill just sit around, let everybody talk
And if you thought Id take your hurt away
Im sorry
And if you thought Id make this feeling stay
Im Sorry
Im so sorry
Stay where you are
Youre not going, just leaving
I will sit around, let everybody talk
And they will say, what they know
They will end up believing
I will sit around, let everybody talk
And if you thought Id take your hurt away
Im sorry
And if you thought Id make this feeling stay
Im Sorry
Yeah Im sorry
And if you thought Id take your hurt away
Im sorry
And if you thought Id make this feeling stay away
Away
So Long
Everybody knows if you’ve got the coolest clothes
You’ve got everybody on your side
Anyone can see if you hang around with me
You’ll be by yourself on Friday night
It’s hard to understand
If you never lose you never learn to want to win
When it all comes down
All around you now
Don’t let it bring you down
You had all the moves you had all the coolest doos
And you always had the coolest car
I never learned to dance, I had hair down to my ass
And now I’m gonna be a Rock Star
Raise your hands
Stomp your feet
I was trying to say
In the smoothness of the day
I'm asking you why
I can never, never reach you
During that quiet while
The wonder stopped nearby
I'm asking you why
I can never, never, never dare to
Ref:
How can I hold it?
He won't guess and I'm a freak
As usual
A fucking freak, is he too?
Still on that sunny day
I'm mute and I can't help
I'm desperate so what
't' ll be better, better one day
I've been trying to tell
The useless and the vague
Then I don't know why
I should ever, ever, ever dare to
Ref:
I was trying to say
But now the day has gone away
And I should know why
People should not ask why, ask why
Ref:
I was trying to say
