Travel video about destination Toledo in Spain.
Toledo is one of the oldest and proudest cities in Spain and during Roman times a large settlement was established there. Later, the Visi Goths recognized the strategic value of this city on the Rio Tajo and it became the capital of their empire. Elevated on a mighty rock foundation the Toledo's unique location served a useful purpose for its eventual defense as the city was the scene of many a bloody battle. In 712 A.D. the capital of the Visi Goths was violently integrated with the Muslim Empire of Al-Andalus. Throughout the centuries Toledo has been regarded as a cultural centre of medieval Spain and was known as a 'City of Three Cultures' as it was here that Arabs, Jews and Christians lived together in peace until the time when the catholic church grew intolerant of other religions. In 1229, construction work on the monumental Toledo Cathedral began and in 1493 the Gothic masterpiece was completed. The proportions of this enormous cathedral make it one of the most spectacular in Spain. The mighty fortress of Alcazar is a world apart from the cathedral and served as the model for the later building of El Escorial. Since its construction in the 16th century, the city's landmark was rebuilt and restored following numerous wars and hostilities. The massive Bisagra Gate embodies yet another symbol of the fusion between Arabic Moorish and Spanish Castilian architecture. Swathed in colourful and dramatic history Toledo enjoys a unique place among all of Spain's old and fascinating cities.

A travel guide for the medieval city of Toledo in Spain. Toledo was the capital of Spain until the mid 1500's when the capital was moved to Madrid. Highlights include the Toledo Cathedral (Spain's largest Cathedral) built in the 13th century and the El Greco Museum. Toledo is an excellent day trip from Madrid and can be reached via a 33 minute high speed train ride from Atocha station.

For Audrey's birthday we took a day trip from Madrid to Toledo where we visited the Alcázar de Toledo and ate a three course Spanish lunch.

Well Hello,
So today is July 23rd. Which means it is my birthday! So Sam and I are going to take a little day trip. We've been staying in Madrid but Toledo is only thirty minutes away by train. So we're going to head out and have some birthday adventures in a new city.
We've arrived and it is a beautiful train station. Time to get the birthday girl some lunch. Yes.
So we decided to walk into the city which was maybe a mistake considering it is almost forty degrees out. We should have just grabbed a taxi but at least they have these escalators that help you reach the summit of the center of the old town I guess. So yeah, it is nice being in the shade and not having to climb stairs.
It is kind of funny because just outside of the escalators are these old ruins. So you have something very modern and then you have the ruins right beside it. Yeah, quite the contrast.
So we made it to the top. And this is our reward. Check out these views.
Birthday girl, what is your starter? Alright, so we found a nice little restaurant and I've ordered Gazpacho which is a cold tomato soup with onions, peppers and cucumbers. But you can't see any of that because it looks like they've just liquefied it and turned it into a bit of a cream. But let's try it.
Mmmmm.
Refreshing? That is so refreshing on a day like today. And it is a little bit tart and tangy which I really like.
I could drink this out of a glass it is so good.
And what is your entree? I'm trying something I've never tried before. It is called Migas de Pastor. And if you look down here it has got meat, it has got some kind of breadcrumbs here and it also has veggies. I think these maybe peppers. Let's take a bite with the meat and the breadcrumbs. How is it? It's really good. I think that is a piece of like chorizo meat. Nice! Spicy!
And what does the birthday gal have?
So I'm having a type of Tortilla which is basically potatoes and egg. Kind of like an omelette style meal. This also has ham in it. And I've got some pork right underneath. They've soaked it in ketchup which I'm not a huge fan of. But it is alright. I actually had this for breakfast today and that was a little bit better.
So I see your main dish has arrived. You know what, this is actually my favorite Spanish dish that I've tried since I've been to Spain. It is called Paella. Take a look down here. We're going to be doing a bit more of a dedicated video to this soon but for now you can basically know that it is a mixed type of rice with seafood and vegetables. Alright, let's take a bite of that.
So good. It's got a really rich and kind of creamy sauce. I just absolutely love this.
And over here in Spain wine is like water. I had a choice between water and wine so I got my own bottle. I think I made the right decision.
Aren't you glad we got about a thirty minute break in between our main course and dessert? What do you have? I am having flan. And I don't really know how to describe this dessert except to say that it is popular in South America and in Spain. And your Mom makes a really good flan. Yes, and the brown stuff you see it is kind of like caramelized sugar but I really can't explain the dessert itself because I have no idea what it is made with even though I've eaten it my whole life.
That's good.
Alright, and I have one of my all-time favorites. Arroz con leche. This is a rice pudding and unlike you I can explain what is in it. There is milk, there is rice and there is cinnamon. And you know who makes a good rice pudding - my Mom too.
Let's take a bite. I'll stir that cinnamon around a bit.
It's really good. It is really creamy. I can tell they've used like maybe even a cream instead of a milk. Nice. And lots of sugar and cinnamon. So is it served hot or cold here?
Ah, cold. Nice.
So we are now visiting the Alcázar, which is the one building that dominates the city skyline. And they also have a really cool military museum. And normally I wouldn't be into that but because it is so hot outside it has actually been really nice being indoors with AC. Just learning a bit of the history by force.
I'm beginning to realize that Spain is more of a winter destination. All we've been doing since we've come here is sweating like pigs.
So we are hiding indoors again. We found a little corner store with lots of fans and Popsicles. So trying to cool down here people.
So I think that is about all we can handle for today. So cooling off yet again with ice cream cones this time. And now we're going to head back to the train station and try to get back to Madrid a little bit earlier than planned.

El Greco born Doménikos Theotokópoulos, (1541 – 7 April 1614) was a painter, sculptor and architect of the Spanish Renaissance. "El Greco" (The Greek) was a nickname, a reference to his ethnic Greek origin, and the artist normally signed his paintings with his full birth name in Greek letters, Δομήνικος Θεοτοκόπουλος (Doménikos Theotokópoulos), often adding the word Κρής (Krēs, "Cretan").
El Greco was born on Crete, which was at that time part of the Republic of Venice, and the centre of Post-Byzantine art. He trained and became a master within that tradition before travelling at age 26 to Venice, as other Greek artists had done. In 1570 he moved to Rome, where he opened a workshop and executed a series of works. During his stay in Italy, El Greco enriched his style with elements of Mannerism and of the Venetian Renaissance. In 1577, he moved to Toledo, Spain, where he lived and worked until his death. In Toledo, El Greco received several major commissions and produced his best-known paintings.

In 712 A.D. the capital of the Visi Goths was violently integrated with the Muslim Empire of Al-Andalus. Throughout the centuries Toledo has been regarded as a cultural centre of medieval Spain and was known as a 'City of Three Cultures' as it was here that Arabs, Jews and Christians lived together in peace until the time when the catholic church grew intolerant of other religions. In 1229, construction work on the monumental Toledo Cathedral began and in 1493 the Gothic masterpiece was completed. The proportions of this enormous cathedral make it one of the most spectacular in Spain. The mighty fortress of Alcazar is a world apart from the cathedral and served as the model for the later building of El Escorial. Since its construction in the 16th century, the city's landmark was rebuilt and restored following numerous wars and hostilities. The massive Bisagra Gate embodies yet another symbol of the fusion between Arabic Moorish and Spanish Castilian architecture. Swathed in colourful and dramatic history Toledo enjoys a unique place among all of Spain's old and fascinating cities.

Well Hello,
So today is July 23rd. Which means it is my birthday! So Sam and I are going to take a little day trip. We've been staying in Madrid but Toledo is only thirty minutes away by train. So we're going to head out and have some birthday adventures in a new city.
We've arrived and it is a beautiful train station. Time to get the birthday girl some lunch. Yes.
So we decided to walk into the city which was maybe a mistake considering it is almost forty degrees out. We should have just grabbed a taxi but at least they have these escalators that help you reach the summit of the center of the old town I guess. So yeah, it is nice being in the shade and not having to climb stairs.
It is kind of funny because just outside of the escalators are these old ruins. So you have something very modern and then you have the ruins right beside it. Yeah, quite the contrast.
So we made it to the top. And this is our reward. Check out these views.
Birthday girl, what is your starter? Alright, so we found a nice little restaurant and I've ordered Gazpacho which is a cold tomato soup with onions, peppers and cucumbers. But you can't see any of that because it looks like they've just liquefied it and turned it into a bit of a cream. But let's try it.
Mmmmm.
Refreshing? That is so refreshing on a day like today. And it is a little bit tart and tangy which I really like.
I could drink this out of a glass it is so good.
And what is your entree? I'm trying something I've never tried before. It is called Migas de Pastor. And if you look down here it has got meat, it has got some kind of breadcrumbs here and it also has veggies. I think these maybe peppers. Let's take a bite with the meat and the breadcrumbs. How is it? It's really good. I think that is a piece of like chorizo meat. Nice! Spicy!
And what does the birthday gal have?
So I'm having a type of Tortilla which is basically potatoes and egg. Kind of like an omelette style meal. This also has ham in it. And I've got some pork right underneath. They've soaked it in ketchup which I'm not a huge fan of. But it is alright. I actually had this for breakfast today and that was a little bit better.
So I see your main dish has arrived. You know what, this is actually my favorite Spanish dish that I've tried since I've been to Spain. It is called Paella. Take a look down here. We're going to be doing a bit more of a dedicated video to this soon but for now you can basically know that it is a mixed type of rice with seafood and vegetables. Alright, let's take a bite of that.
So good. It's got a really rich and kind of creamy sauce. I just absolutely love this.
And over here in Spain wine is like water. I had a choice between water and wine so I got my own bottle. I think I made the right decision.
Aren't you glad we got about a thirty minute break in between our main course and dessert? What do you have? I am having flan. And I don't really know how to describe this dessert except to say that it is popular in South America and in Spain. And your Mom makes a really good flan. Yes, and the brown stuff you see it is kind of like caramelized sugar but I really can't explain the dessert itself because I have no idea what it is made with even though I've eaten it my whole life.
That's good.
Alright, and I have one of my all-time favorites. Arroz con leche. This is a rice pudding and unlike you I can explain what is in it. There is milk, there is rice and there is cinnamon. And you know who makes a good rice pudding - my Mom too.
Let's take a bite. I'll stir that cinnamon around a bit.
It's really good. It is really creamy. I can tell they've used like maybe even a cream instead of a milk. Nice. And lots of sugar and cinnamon. So is it served hot or cold here?
Ah, cold. Nice.
So we are now visiting the Alcázar, which is the one building that dominates the city skyline. And they also have a really cool military museum. And normally I wouldn't be into that but because it is so hot outside it has actually been really nice being indoors with AC. Just learning a bit of the history by force.
I'm beginning to realize that Spain is more of a winter destination. All we've been doing since we've come here is sweating like pigs.
So we are hiding indoors again. We found a little corner store with lots of fans and Popsicles. So trying to cool down here people.
So I think that is about all we can handle for today. So cooling off yet again with ice cream cones this time. And now we're going to head back to the train station and try to get back to Madrid a little bit earlier than planned.

This week we are exploring another Spanish city. We are in Barcelona and this video is going to highlight 25 things to do here.
It is kind of hard to believe our time in Barcelona has expired. So final thoughts.
Well, it was a really fun city to visit. Great architecture, really nice beaches. It is very lively especially at night. The only downfall is that we were here in the middle of summer so it was super hot and super crowded and sometimes that made it a little bit difficult to enjoy. Especially at midday or in the mid-afternoon. So keep that in mind. Maybe consider visiting in the springtime, fall, winter.
Well, so what did you think of the city?
It is definitely a fun city. We had a lot of fun going to the beaches. One thing that is really different about this city compared to some other European cities though is that it is really spread out. In order for us to visit all of these different attractions we had to chunk them together into groups to visit them day by day. Overall, it was a decent city. It didn't quite click with me the same way that Madrid did. But that is just personal preference I suppose.
And that is a wrap for Barcelona! Our 5 days in the city flew by, and while this guide didn't cover everything, we hope we were able to give you a feel of what this fun seaside city has to offer. As always with our travel guides we seek to find the best places for discovering art, entertainment and architecture. In Barcelona you'll find numerous museums with many of them dedicated to the unique Catalunya culture.

This week we are exploring another Spanish city. We are in Barcelona and this video is going to highlight 25 things to do here.
It is kind of hard to believe our time in Barcelona has expired. So final thoughts.
Well, it was a really fun city to visit. Great architecture, really nice beaches. It is very lively especially at night. The only downfall is that we were here in the middle of summer so it was super hot and super crowded and sometimes that made it a little bit difficult to enjoy. Especially at midday or in the mid-afternoon. So keep that in mind. Maybe consider visiting in the springtime, fall, winter.
Well, so what did you think of the city?
It is definitely a fun city. We had a lot of fun going to the beaches. One thing that is really different about this city compared to some other European cities though is that it is really spread out. In order for us to visit all of these different attractions we had to chunk them together into groups to visit them day by day. Overall, it was a decent city. It didn't quite click with me the same way that Madrid did. But that is just personal preference I suppose.
And that is a wrap for Barcelona! Our 5 days in the city flew by, and while this guide didn't cover everything, we hope we were able to give you a feel of what this fun seaside city has to offer. Hola y bienvenidos a Madrid. This week we are in the Spanish capital and we are going to show you twenty five of the best things to do in the city.
Final thoughts on your time in Madrid. Well, I really enjoyed the city. And I really found that it is super walk-able. We were here for 10 days and we hardly had to take the metro at all. We just took the bus once when we were visiting the stadium but the rest of the time we were able to walk wherever we needed to go. And also I think it is a great city for art lovers. There are so many galleries and museums to check out. And a lot of them are free in the evening. So keep that in mind.
And now it is your turn. What did you think of Madrid? You know what? I absolutely loved Madrid. It is a city that just really clicked with me. We have a lot of friends that are living here long term and prior to coming here I had no idea like why would someone want to come to Madrid? Now I totally get it. I love the culture, I love the food, I love the nightlife. Everything is really cheap. I go to the grocery store and I can get a one liter thing of wine for just over a Euro. It is just a really affordable fun city to be in. And it is somewhere I hope I have a chance to come back to again soon.

We begin our journey in the Spanish province of Galicia. Madrid is Europe’s most geographically elevated metropolis, a royal capital of history, outstanding buildings and cultural treasures. Madrid has a boulevard that has transformed it into a major metropolis, the Gran Via, which compares in both design and dimensions with the exquisite streets of Paris and New York. Toledo is one of the oldest and proudest cities in Spain where during Roman times one of the greatest settlements was established, not surprising as it is located on a mighty rock foundation which served a useful purpose for its eventual defence. Barcelona is one of the most lively harbour cities on the Mediterranean and, after Madrid, Spain’s second largest city and the capital of Catalonia. On the wide and shady boulevard of La Rambla that passes through the old town to the harbour, life goes on both day and night. The Costa Del Sol is the name of the southern Mediterranean coast of Spain. In former times a variety of bumpy roads connected this region’s sandy bays and remote fishing villages where once the Phoenicians and Romans settled long before the arrival of the Moors. Malaga, Seville, Cordoba and finally Granada, the conclusion of our journey through a world of rocky coastlines and sandy beaches, magnificent cities and Moorish castles, an atmospheric land steeped in a wealth of history.

La festividad ha sido propuesta por el Consejo de Patrimonio Histórico a la UNESCO , junto con otras cinco fiestas de Castilla-La Mancha, para ser declarada Patrimonio Inmaterial de la Humanidad.

When I first posted this video of the Air Force engaging a UFO, I felt convinced that this was real UFO footage, and many who have witnessed this UFO Video are convinced we are being visited by beings not of this world - extraterrestrials. Though many who see the video are not convinced it is not an edited together hoax. And the reality is that a significant number of reported UFO Sightings, and certainly of reports filed with MUFON are fabrications or just jokes to the people who fill out the online form to Report a UFO Sighting.
And certainly of the few messages I get a month regarding Sightings by my readers, it may be a bit of a wasted effort, but that doesn't mean that someone wouldn't go to the trouble either. Still: here's what I would like from the viewing public, as you look over this video supposedly from the United States Military on a scramble to intercept a UFO:
I am unfamiliar with these planes or the location they are in, so if anyone can help me that way, that would be a good start in investigating this video. If there's any way I could possibly track down this Pilot, that would be my ultimate goal. Or if anyone viewing this is or knows a military pilot who would be willing to talk with me on conditions of anonymity, I would appreciate you sharing this video or my site with them It seem that my best bet is to go right to the source, if perhaps the source would be willing to talk to me - even if only to say "I can't talk about that specifically."

عاصمة مملكة القوط قبل مجئ الإسلام لشبه الجزيرة الإيبيرية (أسبانيا والبرتغال)، و مدينة التسامح والتعايش بين الأديان السماوية أثناء حكم المسلمين لها، وعاصمة مره أخرى لمملكة قشتالة بعد سقوطها في أيدي القشتاليين النصارى.
تميزت بالحرف الصناعية خاصة الحدادة و صناعة الأسلحه كالسيوف والسكاكين. كانت حصنا منيعا للغزاة والفاتحين بسبب تضاريسها الطبيعية إذ بنيت على قمة جبل و يطوقها نهر التاجه من ثلاث جهات اذ يعطيها منظرا خلابا
فتحها القائد العظيم طارق بن زياد في ٧١٢م واتجهه إلى كتدرائيتها الرئيسية بعد فتحها ووجد فيها مائدة كبيره مصنوعة من الذهب ومرصعة بالزبرجد والياقوت والدر، أهداها للخليفة الأموي آنذاك الوليد ابن عبدالملك في دمشق كهدية تذكارية
سقطت على يد ألفونسو السادس سنة ١٠٨٥م وكان سقوطها يمثل بداية سقوط الأندلس
أهم معالمها الإسلامية، باب الشمس و مسجد الباب المردوم الذي حول لكنيسة اسمها نور المسيح ثم لمتحف أثري. بها كنيس يهودي بناهه المسلمون لليهود على الطراز الأندلسي الإسلامي الشهير.

Though many who see the video are not convinced it is not an edited together hoax. And the reality is that a significant number of reported UFO Sightings, and certainly of reports filed with MUFON are fabrications or just jokes to the people who fill out the online form to Report a UFO Sighting.

I am unfamiliar with these planes or the location they are in, so if anyone can help me that way, that would be a good start in investigating this video. If there's any way I could possibly track down this Pilot, that would be my ultimate goal. Or if anyone viewing this is or knows a military pilot who would be willing to talk with me on conditions of anonymity, I would appreciate you sharing this video or my site with them It seem that my best bet is to go right to the source, if perhaps the source would be willing to talk to me - even if only to say "I can't talk about that specifically."
