Like a Webster’s dictionary for color, Pantone guides are a standard against which anyone can check their own work. Those standards are created at Pantone’s factory headquarters in Carlstadt, New Jersey. In this video, Quartz talks to the workers who maintain and enforce those standards.

Are we ready for Spring 2016 makeup collections yet? Lol madness I tell ya! I was really excited about the Sephora + Pantone Universe Colors of they Year, the palette was a breath of fresh air for me, as not only are quite a few of the colors unique, but its a nice break from all the neutral palettes that keep releasing. I think in terms of pigmentation one may interpret this palette the wrong way, as some of the colors dont come off as intense, but I think that is the point for this palette. Watercolor is a perfect description for it, and pastel mattes are not the easiest formula of eyeshadow to do, hence why I dont think we see too many on the market, and even though I had to do some building to get more vibrancy from the shades, I was able to build and they blended, so that made me happy. This is a very pretty spring palette and I think it will pair up with neutral palettes quite lovely. I forgot to mention the inlay in this palette is a nice firm plastic as opposed to the inlay in last years marsala palette which was very flimsy and cheap. I also forgot to note that the lipsticks are referred to as 'layering' lipsticks… so although you can wear them alone, the intent was for layering :) I hope you all enjoyed this video and found it helpful… THANK YOU for watchin' 'n until later… BYE!! xx

This video covers the basics of what are Pantone colors and why are they important. To sum it up as simply as possible Pantone colors are an excellent way to ensure that colors of your designs and illustrations are printed as accurately as possible once they go out to print. When both sides (designer and printer) reference the Pantone colors instead of their screens, it eliminates the issue of screen color variance which can be significant.
This video also covers how to pull up and use different Pantone swatches inside Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign.

Pantone
Pantone Inc. is a corporation headquartered in Carlstadt, New Jersey. The company is best known for its Pantone Matching System (PMS), a proprietary color space used in a variety of industries, primarily printing, though sometimes in the manufacture of colored paint, fabric, and plastics.
In October 2007, X-Rite Inc., a supplier of color measurement instruments and software, purchased Pantone Inc. for $180 million.
Overview
Pantone began as the commercial printing company of M & J Levine Advertising in the 1950s in New York City. In 1956, its founders, advertising executives brothers Mervin and Jesse Levine, hired recent Hofstra University graduate Lawrence Herbert as a part-time employee. Herbert used his chemistry knowledge to systematize and simplify the company's stock of pigments and production of colored inks; by 1962, Herbert was running the ink and printing division at a profit, while the commercial-display division was $50,000 in debt; he subsequently purchased the company's technological assets from the Levine Brothers for $90,000 and renamed them "Pantone".

I was really excited about the Sephora + Pantone Universe Colors of they Year, the palette was a breath of fresh air for me, as not only are quite a few of the colors unique, but its a nice break from all the neutral palettes that keep releasing. I think in terms of pigmentation one may interpret this palette the wrong way, as some of the colors dont come off as intense, but I think that is the point for this palette. Watercolor is a perfect description for it, and pastel mattes are not the easiest formula of eyeshadow to do, hence why I dont think we see too many on the market, and even though I had t...

Are we ready for Spring 2016 makeup collections yet? Lol madness I tell ya! I was really excited about the Sephora + Pantone Universe Colors of they Year, the palette was a breath of fresh air for me, as not only are quite a few of the colors unique, but its a nice break from all the neutral palettes that keep releasing. I think in terms of pigmentation one may interpret this palette the wrong way, as some of the colors dont come off as intense, but I think that is the point for this palette. Watercolor is a perfect description for it, and pastel mattes are not the easiest formula of eyeshadow to do, hence why I dont think we see too many on the market, and even though I had to do some building to get more vibrancy from the shades, I was able to build and they blended, so that made me happy. This is a very pretty spring palette and I think it will pair up with neutral palettes quite lovely. I forgot to mention the inlay in this palette is a nice firm plastic as opposed to the inlay in last years marsala palette which was very flimsy and cheap. I also forgot to note that the lipsticks are referred to as 'layering' lipsticks… so although you can wear them alone, the intent was for layering :) I hope you all enjoyed this video and found it helpful… THANK YOU for watchin' 'n until later… BYE!! xx

To sum it up as simply as possible Pantone colors are an excellent way to ensure that colors of your designs and illustrations are printed as accurately as possible once they go out to print. When both sides (designer and printer) reference the Pantone colors instead of their screens, it eliminates the issue of screen color variance which can be significant.
This video also covers how to pull up and use different Pantone swatches inside Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign.
