Belus (Greek: Βῆλος) was in Greek mythology a king of Egypt and father of Aegyptus and Danaus and (usually) brother to Agenor. The wife of Belus has been named as Achiroe, or Side (eponym of the Phoenician city of Sidon)[citation needed].
Diodorus Siculus claims that Belus founded a colony on the river Euphrates, and appointed the priests-astrologers whom the Babylonians call Chaldeans who like the priests of Egypt are exempt from taxation and other service to the state.
Belus was the son of Poseidon and Libya. Maybe he is also Busiris, son of Libya, ruler of Egypt, killed by Hercules, although Hercules was born many generations after Belus since he was a grandchild of Perseus; see Argive genealogy below (Belus is also connected with Hercules; according to Pausanias, Belus founded a temple of Hercules in Babylon).
The Bibliotheca also claims that Agenor was Belus' twin brother. Belus ruled in Egypt, and Agenor ruled over Sidon and Tyre in Phoenicia.
The wife of Belus has been named as Achiroe, allegedly daughter of the river-god Nilus. Her sons Aegyptus and Danaus were twins. Later Aegyptus ruled over Egypt and Arabia, and Danaus ruled over Libya. Pseudo-Apollodorus says that it was Euripides who added Cepheus and Phineus as additional sons of Belus.

Mercyful Fate was a Danish heavy metal band from Copenhagen. Initially active from 1981 to 1985, they reunited in 1992. The band went on hiatus again in 2000, when frontman King Diamond decided to continue his solo career. They are cited as major influences by many artists in the black metal, thrash metal, power metal, and progressive metal genres.
Mercyful Fate was founded in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1981[citation needed] from the remaining members of Hank Shermann's band Brats and King Diamond's band Black Rose. In early 1981 they helped out Michael Denner with demos for his band Danger Zone. Soon, Shermann, Denner, Diamond, and Denner's bass player Timi "Grabber" Hansen realized their potential as a unit and started performing as Mercyful Fate. The band experienced the usual member changes for a new band, as Denner left (and later returned). In addition, the drummer position was a revolving door, but Kim Ruzz finally established himself as the drummer.
In early 1982, Mercyful Fate contributed to the Ebony Records sampler Metallic Storm. Later on in the year, the band recorded their first material, The Mercyful Fate EP, on vinyl for the Dutch label Rave On. The EP was released in 1982 and included material that would later inspire the black metal genre.
Zebulon Montgomery Pike, Jr. (January 5, 1779 – April 27, 1813) was an American officer and explorer for whom Pikes Peak in Colorado is named. As a United States Army captain in 1806–1807, he led the Pike Expedition to explore and document the southern portion of the Louisiana Purchase and to find the headwaters of the Red River, during which he recorded the discovery of what later was called Pikes Peak. Captured by the Spanish while wandering in present-day Colorado after his party got confused in its travels, Pike and his men were taken to Chihuahua, present-day Mexico and questioned by the governor. They were released later in 1807 at the border of Louisiana.
In 1810 Pike published an account of his expeditions, a book so popular that it was translated into French, German and Dutch for publication in Europe. He later achieved the rank of brigadier general in the Army, serving during the War of 1812. He was killed during the Battle of York, which the United States won.
Pike is descended from John Pike, an early English immigrant as a child in 1635 and founder of Woodbridge, New Jersey in 1665. Later in his life, Zebulon had a child named Clarissa Brown Pike.
I'm rolling in a borrowed car
A hot-rod called egyptian
With Jules in the back
And a terrible decision
Green and white
And blue and black
We'll use for making portraits
The colors flashing by outside
We'll bring into the fortress
With Jules on
With you on
With me on
Once out in the country
Brand-new midnight words
We'll christen
The towers that you wrote of
Will be too far off to listen
Soft you make my visions
And I fear my hand you'll take
Morning-cakes like animals
For tired eyes i'll bake
With Jules on
With you on
With me on
Mother, father, brothers
Might be sitting at the table
But here beneath my touch
I'll keep you as sweetly as I'm able
A beautiful boy
Beside his dark egyptian model
Almost high i'll drive you both
To where the papers cannot follow
With Jules on
With you on
