KATHMANDU, April 2: Lalitpur District Administration Office has sought help of neighboring Sindhuli and Makawanpur districts to track the seven people involved in forcing a woman to consume human excreta in Pyutar village.
Chief District Officer of Lalitpur Laxmi Prasasd Dhakal told the parliamentary Women, Children and Social Welfare Committee that he has requested the police and administration in neighboring Makwanpur and Sindhuli to find the accused.
"All the seven, including the main accused Bimala Gole, have been absconding from the village when reinforced police went to arrest them for the third time," Dhakal said. "We sent the reinforcement after two attempts by the police failed to arrest the accused because of the obstruction by the villagers."
The committee also grilled acting Prime Minister and Home Minister Bamdev Gautam on the issue. Gautam said the government was committed to bring the culprits to book sooner or later.
Victim Kalli Kumari BK, accused of practicing witchcraft, was forced to consume human excreta by a primary school principal and her family members also were present at the committee meeting to express their grievances.
