There are two ways to install the Accessibility Extension.

- Open a Mozilla/Firefox browser window
- Go to the Accessibility Extension install file URL (http://firefox.cita.uiuc.edu/accessext-1.00.1.xpi)
- A dialog will appear and, after a pause, you may select "Install Now" to install the Accessibility Extension
- Close all Firefox/Mozilla browser windows
- Restart Mozilla/Firefox; the accessibility extension should be available
Download, then Drag-and-Drop:
- Download the Accessibility Extension by right-clicking its URL (http://firefox.cita.uiuc.edu/accessext-1.00.1.xpi) and selecting "Save Link As". Remember where you saved the file
- Open a Mozilla/Firefox browser window
- Drag the Accessibility Extension file into the open browser window
- A dialog will appear and, after a pause, you may select "Install Now" to install the Accessibility Extension
- Close all Firefox/Mozilla browser windows
- Restart Mozilla/Firefox; the accessibility extension should be available
Firefox Uninstall Instructions
- Open a Firefox browser window
- Navigate on the browser menu bar to "Tools" then "Extensions"
- Select "Mozilla Accessibility Extension" with the mouse
- Select "Uninstall" and then "OK"
- Close all Firefox browser windows
- The Accessibility Extension will be gone when the browser is re-opened
Mozilla Uninstall Instructions
Mozilla does not support automated uninstallation of extensions. There is really no easy way to remove installed extensions. One may hide the Accessibility Extension by first hiding the menus (toggle "Keyboard/Show Extension Menus") and then hiding the toolbar itself.
