About GreaterFalls.com

Howdy! My name is David. I’ve lived in Great Falls since 2002. I love it here. Seriously.

WHAT (and why) IS GREATERFALLS.COM?

I’ve been blogging since October 2000 in one form or another; used to be over at Better Living Thru Blogging, which was located at www.davidmsc.com, but eventually let it go in 2008. And shortly after I moved to Montana, I created the Big Sky Blog, which was the first multi-user collaborative blog about All Things Montana.

And then in May 2005, I created GreaterFalls.com in order to integrate two things that I love: blogging and Great Falls. It’s true: I do love this community. You see, I was raised as an Air Force brat, and then spent 20 years in the military myself, so I never had the same address for more than three years in my entire life.

But then I arrived in Great Falls. Never in my life have I met such friendly, honest people, or lived in such a beautiful community, or enjoyed such wonderful scenery and weather (all four seasons!). Literally within days of arriving here back in 2002, I experienced something that I had never felt before: a sense of home. This is the only place that I’ve ever lived or visited that felt like home to me. Quite a powerful feeling.

So I suppose you could think of GreaterFalls.com as my personal “fan club” for the community of Great Falls. I invite you to visit this site often to see what’s going on, and to leave comments on entries that interest you.

I really appreciate you taking the time to stop by; you can stay up to date with GreaterFalls.com in several ways:

In other news…my day job is Online Producer for KRTV.com. I take the news stories that the reporters bring in from the field, tinker with them a bit to make them more web and reader-friendly, and manage the content portions of the KRTV website (photo galleries, comments, etc). I love it, and love the folks I work with. Just remember: anything that I post here at GreaterFalls.com is MY opinion alone, and does not necessarily reflect the opinions, attitudes, or beliefs of KRTV (or management, owners, staff, etc).

  9. I was stationed at Malmstrom AFB from 1976 to 1977. Got married in 1977 and lived in Great Falls from 1977 to 1978.We lived at 724 1st Ave South for a year, then left for Utah July 31, 1978, and have wished we could move back as soon as possible. We loved the people and the town. We hope it hasn’t changed much.
