September 11, 2001 Attack on the World Trade Center, let us not forget, and my condolences to the Heros & Victoms of 911. May the victoms and Heros RIP May this sinister act never be repeated to our Country Again! The September 11 attacks resulted in 2,996 immediate (attack time) deaths: 2,977 victims and the 19 hijackers. A total of 372 foreign nationals (excluding the 19 perpetrators) perished in the attacks, representing just over 12% of the total. The immediate deaths include 246 victims on the four planes (from which there were no survivors), 2,606 in New York City in the World Trade Center and on the ground, and 125 at the Pentagon. About 292 people were killed at street level by burning debris and falling bodies of those who had jumped or fallen from the World Trade Center's windows.

"Jetzt ist es amtlich: Die Fernseh-Autoren Willy Brunner und Gerhard Wisnewski bekommen vom WDR höchstwahrscheinlich keine Aufträge mehr. Weil ihre letzte Arbeit für den WDR "hinsichtlich der journalistischen Sorgfaltspflicht Mängel aufweist, die zu erheblichen Missinterpretationen in der Öffentlichkeit geführt haben." Außerdem stelle das Verhalten der beiden Filmemacher einen "Vertrauensbruch" dar. Auf dieser Basis ist laut Helfried Spitra, Leiter Kultur und Wissenschaft, eine weitere Zusammenarbeit "nicht mehr vorstellbar." Die Autoren wiederum betrachten das Vorgehen des WDR als rufschädigend und erwägen rechtliche Schritte." ____________________________________________________ Tatsache ist, dass der WDR für den 10. September 2003 - also nur zwei Tage nach Erscheinen der Spiegel-Titelstory - eine Sendung mit dem Titel Täuschung oder Wahrheit? vorbereitet hatte. Darin sollte Gerhard Wisnewski gegenüber Hans Leyendecker - der sich in einem Radiointerview und einem SZ-Artikel vehement gegen "Verschwörungsidioten" und "Verschwörungs-Junkies" gewendet hatte - nicht nur seine eigenen Thesen, sondern auch die Thesen anderer "Verschwörungstheoretiker" rechtfertigen. Leyendecker standen drei Experten zur Seite, außerdem hatte die Redaktion sechs Einspielfilme (Intro; Todespiloten; Absturzstelle Pentagon; Absturzstelle Shanksville; Einsturz WTC; Suche nach überlebenden Attentätern) vorbereitet. Moderiert wurde das Ganze von [extern] Helmut Rehmsen. Bei insgesamt 60 Minuten Sendezeit blieb für Wisnewskis Argumente zwangsläufig wenig Raum. Rückblickend sagt Wisnewski: "Bis zu diesem Zeitpunkt habe ich dem Sender voll vertraut." Zumal die Redaktion der Sendung in den Händen von Matthias Kremin lag - demselben Redakteur, mit dem Wisnewski und Brunner bei 'Aktenzeichen 11. 9. ungelöst' zu tun hatten und der in Wisnewskis Buch auf Seite 366 in der Danksagung auftaucht. Hätte Wisnewski geahnt, was auf ihn zukommt, wäre er nicht allein angetreten, sondern hätte seinerseits auf aussagekräftigen Experten bestanden. ___________________________________________________ Dass Wisnewski und Brunner nicht mehr für den WDR arbeiten dürfen, erfuhren die beiden aus dem Spiegel (!) vom 22. September 2003. Dort hieß es auf der letzten Seite in der Rubrik 'Der SPIEGEL berichtete ...': ... in Nr. 37/2003 'Verschwörung 11. September - Wie Konspirationsfanatiker die Wirklichkeit auf den Kopf stellen' über Verschwörungstheorien zu den Anschlägen des 11. September. Dabei ging es auch um die fragwürdigen Methoden des WDR-Autors Gerhard Wisnewski. Verschwörungstheoretiker Wisnewski und sein Co-Autor Willy Brunner hatten für den Westdeutschen Rundfunk eine entsprechende Dokumentation gedreht ('Aktenzeichen 11. 9. ungelöst'). Die Autoren Gerhard Wisnewski und Willy Brunner dürfen nicht mehr für den Sender arbeiten. Das wurde vergangene Woche in der Sitzung des Rundfunkrats bekannt. Der WDR fühlt sich von ihnen "getäuscht". Intendant Fritz Pleitgen distanzierte sich nach Beschwerden von Rundfunkräten von dem Beitrag ... ____________________________________________________ In den Augen von Wisnewski und Brunner ist diese Meldung in dreifacher Hinsicht ein Skandal. Erstens falle die Personalpolitik des WDR nicht in den Zuständigkeitsbereich des Spiegel. Zweitens haben die Sitzungen des Rundfunkrats nicht-öffentlichen Charakter; die Teilnehmer sind zur Verschwiegenheit verpflichtet; Außenstehende werden höchstens über die Tagesordnungspunkte, nicht jedoch über "über Inhalt und Verlauf" informiert, wie Reinhard Grätz, Vorsitzender des Rundfunkrats des WDR, am 8. Oktober 2003 den Autoren gegenüber bestätigt. Und Drittens hätten die beiden gerne aus erster Hand erfahren, wie es um ihr Ansehen beim WDR steht. Per Fax baten die Autoren den WDR um Stellungnahme. Außerdem verfassten sie einen Offenen Brief an den Spiegel. Und berichteten auf ihren Websites in regelmäßigen Abständen über den aktuellen Stand der Dinge. Wobei der Tonfall zunehmend schärfer wurde. Ein Verhalten, das vom zuständigen Redaktionsleiter Helfried Spitra als "nicht akzeptabel" bewertet wird. Die Autoren halten dagegen: "Wir sind gezwungen, weiteren Schaden von uns abzuwenden. Daher müssen wir den Rufschädigungen entgegentreten." ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________
