We stopped in to check out the some of the great natural experiences that can be enjoyed in Tropical North Queensland. We started in Cairns and went out for a trip to the Great Barrier Reef.
We sailed out to the reef to Michaelmas Cay with Passions of paradise. The great thing about this location is that you can snorkel right of the beach and if you are a certified diver you can also scuba dive this location.
We then decided to head north to check out the Daintree Rainforest. To get to the Daintree head towards Port Douglas. On your way to the Daintree be sure to check out Mossman Gorge, if its a hot day its a great place to go for a swim.
When you get to the Daintree there are many great walking tracks. As you adventure out along these tracks there are many different experiences that will enjoy and if you are lucky enough you may even see a Cassowary in the wild.
The Atherton Tablelands offers a range of things to do and see. Some of the places to visit are the crater lakes of lake Eacham and Barrine through to the Curtain Fig a must see. Heading further into the Great Dividing range you visit Mount Mulligan.

Scotland, is a country I've wanted to visit for years, and I finally was able to turn that into reality last year when I visited for the first time to take in the New Year's celebrations of Hogmanay in Edinburgh. As one of the most negotiable cities on foot that I've ever visited, Audrey and pounded the pavement marveling at the architecture, impressive castles and winter carnival events in the downtown area. When we need to warm up we popped into pubs to gormandize on Haggis, Neeps and Tatties while washing it down with a Hot Toddy. When we were in the mood for something a bit sweeter we decided to try a deep-fried Mars bar – a Scottish specialty. Although disgustingly unhealthy (essentially this a chocolate bar covered in batter and deep-fried) it tasted delicious and it ten times better than having a chocolate bar on its own. When we weren't trying Scottish Cuisine or wandering aimlessly down narrow streets, we decided to take a few day trips to check out other events and attractions. Our favorite being Loony Dook where a group of mad men, women and children wearing Halloween type costumes ran full steam ahead into the freezing cold Firth of Forth.
The true highlight of our time in Scotland was having the opportunity to explore the Scottish Highlands (including the Isle of Skye) with Haggis Adventure Tours. This road trip allowed highlighted some of the most scenic areas of the entire country where we couldn't put down our cameras.
When we weren't traveling we spent our time sampling as much Scottish food as we possibly could including a taste test of Irn Bru, Ginger Beer, Tablet, Haggis flavored chips, Scottish chocolate and Scottish Whiskey and more.
The following is a top attractions travel guide offering a snapshot of the best things to do in Scotland during your next vacation to one of my favorite countries in all of Europe.

http://www.expedia.com/Adelaide-and-vicinity.d6051330.Destination-Travel-Guides
Adelaide is the capital of South Australia and is situated close to the Great Southern Ocean.
It is a compact beachside city that is full of churches, stone buildings and beautiful parklands.
This picturesque city is unusual amongst Australian cities in that it was founded by free settlers, not convicts. Those early founders put a lot of passion into creating a better life for themselves even though they were many thousands of miles from home.
Because of that history, Adelaide has a unique sense of refinement and beauty.
One of the most popular places to visit is Victoria Square which is right in the heart of the city. From here, it is easy to wander along the North Terrace District and admire the graceful buildings and museums which echo with stories from the past.
At the South Australian Museum, visitors can learn about the rich cultures that were in the area before the Europeans arrived.
Another great place to visit is the Art Gallery of South Australia where visitors can enjoy the extensive collections of Australian and International Art.
Don’t miss the legendary Adelaide Oval which many claim to be one of the most beautiful cricket grounds in the world.
Adelaide is also well known as a gateway to the famous Barossa and Clair Valleys which are a food and wine lovers paradise.
Many of the early settlers to this area were German and they brought with them grapes from their homeland.The area is now well-known for producing outstanding shiraz and reisling.
While you are in the area, stop at any of the many wineries for a wine tasting or to enjoy a meal using fine local produce.
Adelaide is an old world city that attracts visitors for its elegance and romance.

Our adventure begins in dense rainforests outside Cairns in the north of Queensland, one of Australia’s most popular tourist destinations. We are part of an expedition that will travel far from the tourist trail and into vast unspoiled regions in order to search for an extraordinary aborigine, the Walangee! A newly-ignited forest fire forces us to change direction and take an alternative route. On this occasion it is no problem otherwise our entire expedition could be in jeopardy. Our new route travels along a gravel-covered forest road: a four wheel drive vehicle in this part of Queensland is an absolute necessity.Three rivers, the Lockhart, Pascoe and Jardine, as well as numerous small tributaries, flow across the pathless jungle area of the north coast of Australia. The river is a habitat for a large variety of very unusual creatures. We feel a little like how the first European discoverers of Australia must have felt. Cape York Peninsula was one of the first regions to be discovered by the first seafarers here long before Captain James Cook discovered the fifth continent. Within his hut Chief Walangee is busy with the creation of a new harpoon. For the inhabitants of Cape York Peninsula, for thousands of years the harpoon has been the most important hunting device. Today the point of the harpoon is made of iron. Chief Walangee is one of the last authentic hunters of this region. We also visit one of the most famous diving sites in the world, the Great Barrier Reef, that consists of around a thousand islands and almost three thousand individual reefs. This journey into Australia’s natural past has confirmed that it is one of the world’s most untouched land masses in which ancient traditions continue to be used for practical purposes, not just a tourist’s carefully posed photo opportunity!

Perth is a must visit if you're thinking of a trip over to Western Australia, the beautiful coastline and Perth attractions make it the ideal place to take family, friends or your partner.
The city is easy to navigate, with everything fairly close, Hay and Murray Street is home to big name shops, cinemas and the GPO.
Kings Park and Botanic Gardens are a beautiful place for a stroll and offers some great views of the city. The Botanic Gardens features over 3,000 species and the Rio Tinto Naturescape is great for the kids.
The coastline is one of Perth's draws, and if the heat is getting to you head for a dip at the golden sands on Cottesloe Beach, City Beach or Scarborough.
Fremantle is located at the mouth of the Swan River, boasting historical buildings, the Roundhouse and the Maritime Museum it's a popular place to visit. From Fremantle, hop on a boat over to Rottnest Island, it's a protected reserve and great for walking and cycling trails.
For entertainment, Perth offers popular musicals, plays and dance performances, along with bars, restaurants and clubs.

Australia tourism & Vacations 2015
Travel Videos HD, World Travel Guide http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=World1Tube
Australia is world famous for its natural wonders and wide open spaces, its beaches, deserts, "the bush", and "the Outback".
Australia is one of the world's most highly urbanised countries; it is well known for the attractions of its large cities such as Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
Wildlife
Australian flora and fauna is unique to the island, the result of having been isolated from the rest of the world for millions of years. Amongst Australian animals are a large group of marsupials (mammals with a pouch) and monotremes (mammals that lay eggs). Just some of the animal icons of Australia are the kangaroo (national symbol) and the koala. A visit to Australia would not be complete without taking the chance to see some of these animals in their natural environment.
Wildlife parks and zoos
Wildlife parks and zoos are in every capital city, but also check out the animal parks if you are passing through smaller towns, like Mildura or Mogo, or staying on Hamilton Island. See the Warrawong Fauna Sanctuary if you are in South Australia, or visit the koalas with best view in the world, at Taronga Zoo in Sydney.
In the wild
Kangaroos and wallabies reside in national parks all around the country. You won't see any kangaroos hopping down the street in Central Sydney, but they are common on the outskirts of most urban areas. There is also a famous group which make their home on the of grounds of the University of the Sunshine Coast, in Queensland.
Wombats and echidna are also common, but harder to find due to their camouflage and tunnelling. See lots of echidnas on Kangaroo Island.
Koalas are present in forests around Australia, but are very notoriously hard to spot, and walking around looking upwards into the boughs of trees will usually send you sprawling over a tree root. Best seen during the day, there is a thriving and friendly population on Raymond Island near Paynesville in Victoria. You have a good chance on Otway Coast, on the Great Ocean Road, or even in the National Park walk near Noosa on the Sunshine Coast.
Emu are more common in central Australia. You will certainly see some if you venture to the outback national park at Currawinya
Platypus are found in reedy flowing creeks with soft river banks in Victoria, Southern New South Wales, and the very southern region of Queensland - seen at dusk and dawn - you have to have a bit of luck to see one. Try the platypus reserves in Bombala or Delegate in New South Wales, or in Emu Creek at Skipton just out of Ballarat.
Landmarks
Australia has many landmarks, famous the world over. From Uluru in the red centre, to the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House in Sydney.
The unusual
See some of the Big things in Australia.
Do in Australia
==========
Family Days Out, [18]. Fun things for to do with the kids in Australia.
Swim
in the surf. Australia has seemingly endless sandy beaches. Follow the crowds to the world famous Bondi Beach in Sydney, or Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast. Or find a stretch all for yourself (but beware of dangerous rips on beaches, it is considerably safer to find a patrolled beach). The surf is smaller and warmer in the Tropical North, where the reef breaks the swell, and larger and colder in the south with waves rolling in from the Southern Ocean. (And yes, in the middle it is just right).
in calm tropical oceans. Cable Beach in Broome is swept pristine daily by the tide, has perfect sand, and warm water - go in winter.
in thermal pools. South of Darwin there are many natural thermal pools such as Berry Springs & Mataranka, surrounded by palms and tropical foliage.
in freshwater lakes. Inland Australia tends to be dry, but there are freshwater lakes where you would least expect them. Explore inland of Cairns at the Atherton Tablelands, or head outback to the Currawinya National Park.
in rivers. If its hot, and there is water, there will be a place to swim. Wherever you are, just ask around for the favourite swimming spot, with a waterhole and rope to swing on. Watch out for crocodiles.
in man-made pools. The local swimming pool is often the hub of community life on a summer Sunday in the country towns of New South Wales and Victoria. Many of the beachside suburbs of Sydney have man made rock pools for swimming by the ocean beaches.
on the beach! Find your spot by the water, and get out the towel. Tropical north in the winter, down south in the summer. As always when in Australia, protect yourself from the sun.
Diving
Snorkelling take a trip out to the Great Barrier Reef on the Queensland coast, or the Ningaloo Reef off the coast of Western Australia. Or take a trip out to Julian rocks off Byron Bay, or just dive in off the beach to see the tropical fish in Bundaberg.

Queensland is proudly known as the sunshine state of Australia, and any time of year makes a good time to visit Brisbane (often called Brizzy by locals). Brisbane sightseeing is marked by parks, coastline, gardens, and more. Whether you want to play in the water or partake in some epic shopping, this Australian city welcomes you.
Start your Brisbane tour with a stop at Mount Coot-tha. The name of this mountain peak is derived from the Maori word for honey, which was once found in abundance here. While you’re at Mount Coot-tha, explore the stars of the Southern Hemisphere at the Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium. Next, visit a laughing kookaburra at Brisbane Botanical Gardens.
Don’t forget about the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, where you can visit koalas, kangaroos, and other local animals. Once you’re ready to commune with humans again, head to Queen Street Mall for the heart of Brisbane’s shopping. The South Bank is rich with free activities, markets, and a lagoon where you can cool off.
Spare some time to take the public ferry to Newfoundland Park, where you can visit the restored Brisbane Powerhouse, filled with art installations. To end your day, climb the Story Bridge, an ideal spot to watch the sun set over the city. Don’t worry, Brisbane tourism includes many fine and casual dining options.

is a regional city in the far north of Queensland, Australia, founded 1876. The city was named after William Wellington Cairns, then-current Governor of Queensland. It was formed to serve miners heading for the Hodgkinson River goldfield, but experienced a decline when an easier route was discovered from Port Douglas. It later developed into a railhead and major port for exporting sugar cane, gold and other metals, minerals and agricultural products from surrounding coastal areas and the Atherton Tableland region. As of June 2012, the population is approximately 142,528.[1]
Cairns is located about 1,700 km (1,056 mi) from Brisbane. It is a popular travel destination for foreign tourists because of its tropical climate. It serves as a starting point for people wanting to visit the Great Barrier Reef and Far North Queensland.
Cairns is located on the east coast of Cape York Peninsula on a coastal strip between the Coral Sea and the Great Dividing Range. The northern part of the city is located on Trinity Bay and the city centre is located on Trinity Inlet. Some of the city's suburbs are located on flood plains. The Mulgrave River and Barron River flow within the greater Cairns area but not through the CBD. The city centre's foreshore is located on a mud flat.

Top 10 Things to Do in Cairns, Australia
==========================
Visit Cairns for the Great Barrier Reef, but don’t miss the great things to do around this Far North Queensland town. Stunning beaches, spectacular hinterland, local and organic produce, brilliant cafés and bars, bustling markets and laid-back friendly people make Cairns a favourite destination. Relax by a resort pool or spend your days exploring. A tropical holiday awaits.
Snorkel, Scuba or see the Great Barrier Reef From the Air
=================
Drop into the Cairns Visitor Centre, a great place to start exploring the largest reef system in the world – the Great Barrier Reef. Sign up for a scuba lesson or find the right dive for you. Jump aboard a cruise and snorkel with the sea turtles, or go for a scenic helicopter flight and witness the magnitude of the reef.
Find Great Food and Nightlife in Cairns
=================
Get a great pub meal at the Red Beret, or dine al fresco at one of the beautiful restaurants in Palm Cove, a 30-minute drive north. Visit sophisticated bars along the Esplanade, like Salt House, or the lively clubs on Spence and Lake Streets. In the morning, get your coffee fix at Caffiend – seriously good brews.
Day Trip from Cairns to See Platypus in the Wild
=================
Find cooler temperatures and a whole different vibe in the stunning Cairns highlands, the Atherton Tableland. Set 1000 metres above sea level, you’ll find quaint townships and coffee, honey, fruits, artisan dairy products and macadamia nuts. Don’t miss the Platypus Park and the 800-year-old Curtain Fig Tree. Drive the 16-kilometre Waterfall Circuit, taking in Milla Milla, Zillie and Ellinjaa Falls.
Trek the World Heritage Daintree Rainforest
=================
Visit the oldest lowland rainforest on Earth – 135 million years old – to glimpse rare animals like tree-living kangaroos, rainforest dragons, colourful butterflies and prehistoric birds. Two hours north by car, do it as a day trip or stay in an eco-lodge. Take a river cruise and don’t miss the Daintree Ice Cream Company.
Ride Through the Rainforest on the Kuranda Train and Skyrail
=================
Drive 90 minutes to board the historic Kuranda Scenic Railway, for a spectacular and exciting two-hour journey through Barron Gorge National Park’s rugged mountains, past beautiful teeming waterfalls, over 40 bridges spanning sheer drops and through 15 tunnels. At Kuranda, jump on the Skyrail for amazing views over the lush rainforest, then spend time in the pretty Kuranda village.
Experience Aboriginal Culture in Cairns
=================
Find Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park, built on traditional land in a beautiful rainforest setting 15 minutes out of Cairns. Be immersed in traditional Tjapukai culture with authentic music, dance and storytelling. You can also take The Bama Way experience – learn to throw a spear, hunt and gather bush tucker in the mangroves and shallows at beautiful Kooya Beach.
Ride a Ferry to Fitzroy Island National Park
=================
Take a day trip to Fitzroy Island, 29 kilometres south-east of Cairns. Catch the high-speed ferry, scheduled to allow visitors to spend the daylight hours there and be back in town for dinner. Hike or kayak to discover one of the most unspoiled islands on the Great Barrier Reef, teeming with wildlife in mangroves, woodland, pristine rainforest and coral beaches.
Shop Great Local Art, Craft and Produce at Cairns Markets
=================
Don’t miss the Saturday Esplanade market for jewellery, clothing and locally made skincare that celebrities swear by. Swing by the Friday Night Market at Palm Cove, the monthly Holloway Beach Markets or Tanks Market in the gardens for great food and a social vibe. Mingle with locals at Rusty’s, where the best regional produce is fresh and cheap.
Get Extreme with Cairns Adventure Sports
=================
Find some of the best white-water rafting rapids in Australia on the Barron River and Tully River. Take a tandem skydive and feel the adrenaline rush with an aerial view of the Great Barrier Reef. Bungy pump at AJ Hackett’s or ride their Minjin Jungle Swing. Other activities in the area include quad biking, horse-riding and hang-gliding as well.
Catch Barramundi in One of Cairns’ Top Fishing Spots
=================
On the edge of the world’s largest reef system, go fishing for big game with one of the many experienced operators who are aware of the environmental sensitivities and regulations. There are also world-class catches to be had by beach and estuary fishing from Kings Point and in Lake Tinaroo. However if you’re into fishing, try to catch your very own barramundi, the legend of Far North Queensland angling.

As much as I loved being in Edinburgh for Hogmany, the true highlight of my time in Scotland was touring the Scottish Highlands with Haggis Adventure Tours. Our charismatic guide, Dave, double as both a bus driver and tour guide. With his long ginger beard and charismatic storytelling we learned in depth about each place we visit along our tour including personal stories and anecdotes you wouldn't find by looking any of this up on wikipedia. Overall, we had an opportunity to really experience the true rugged nature of Northern Scotland where we experienced all three distinct days of weather: sunny, torrential rains and winds and just a normal rainy day. Usually, I'm more of an independent type of traveler but this tour was exceptional and I'd recommend it to anyone who is considering visiting this part of Scotland.
Visiting the Scottish Highlands three day tour with Haggis Adventure Tours travel video guide top attractions playlist:
1) Visiting the Scottish Highlands - Culloden and Clava Cairns - with Haggis Adventures in Scotland
2) Touring the Isle Of Skye visiting Eilean Donan castle in the Scottish Highlands w/ Haggis Adventures
3) Touring the Scottish Highlands heading from the Isle Skye back to Edinburgh with Haggis Adventures
This is part of our Travel in Scotland series. We're making a series of videos showcasing Scottish culture, Scottish arts, Scottish foods, Scottish religion and Scottish people.

Outback Australia - Down the Guts' travel program
Litchfield National Park is actually a more popular National Park with territorian locals than Kakadu - why? You can visit all it's sites in one day, you can swim without fear of crocodiles, and you don't have to pay fees to get in. of particular note are it's swimming holes and waterfalls.
The Grove Hill Hotel is a real outback boozer 16 km's off the main road. Every month the publicans Stan and Mary put on a free bbq.
Had a great night, met some interesting locals, enjoyed the pre 1970's music Stan was playing...and even had a dance.
Katherine's major tourist attraction is the Katherine Gorge which consists of 13 natural gorges carved through sandstone by the Katherine River.
We interviewed a French Helicopter Pilot, William Massart, who takes joy flights over the gorge.
Wycliffe Well Roadhouse is known as Australia's premier U.F.O. sightings location. Numerous people have reported seeing strange lights in the sky while staying a Wycliffe.
I interviewed Lew Farkas, owner of the roadhouse about the U.F.O. sightings.
In Alice Springs we enjoyed trying crocodile, kangaroo, camel and emu at Overlander Steakhouse and let our hair down at Bojangles Saloon
Situated 117 km's West of Alice Springs. Wallace Rock Hole is an Aranda Aboriginal community which runs Aboriginal Culture Rockart tours which cover such things as bush medicine, bush tucker, the history of the Aranda people and visits to ancient rock art sites
We interviewed Benjamin, a local guide about his community.
In Coober Pedy we interviewed Jenny Gough from the Old Timers Mine
Jenny is a long term resident of Coober Pedy and in the video talks about how a stoke of good luck resulted in finding and funding the Old Timers Mine.
In Adelaide we interviewed Anna Pak Poy from nomads world - Australia's finest chain of backpacking hostels
Anna helped organise our accommodation for the trip. She was born and bred in Adelaide and has such a passion for the place, we couldn't go past interviewing her.

This travel video was recorded in 2014 during our short holiday in Australia - Sydney, Blue Mountains, Great Barrier Reef, Mosman Gorge, Cape Tribulation, Daintree Rainforest, Cairns (Botanic Garden), Kings Canyon, Kata Tjuta (the Olgas), Uluru (Ayers Rock), Grand Pacific Drive, Kiama, Central Tilba Historic Village, Pebbly Beach, Phillip Island, Melbourne, Great Ocean Road, Ballarat (Wildlife Park, Sovereign Hill historic park).
The shots were recorded by me and my wife with a handy cam. Please regard this clip as an amateur work since this was my first attempt at editing a video.
Background music:
Pink Floyd - Anisina (Endless River) / intro and outro
Rainbow - I Surrender (Difficult to Cure)
Rainbow - Difficult to Cure (Difficult to Cure)
Pink Floyd - Lost for Words (Division Bell)
Pink Floyd - Echoes (Live in Gdansk)
David Gilmour - A Pocketful of Stone (On an Island)

THE REAL AUSTRALIA: Deadly Snakes And Aboriginal Culture

Is Australia really as dangerous as people say? Will a snake really kill you, and who is the record holder for surviving the most venomous bite in this strange and wonderful part of Oz? Find out here!
In this video, after escaping some "not-so-prepared" road-trippers I had been spending the previous three days with and making my great escape by hitching a ride on a tour bus from the remote Palm Valley To Alice Springs, I was fortunate enough to learn more about the real Australia from a local guide named Dan (or 'Diesel' as he is more commonly known here in Alice Springs.
It was such an interesting conversation as we tackled the extreme bush terrain! He gave us a fantastic and researched insight into the truth about snakes in Australia and if they are as much as a risk as people think. We also discuss our experiences of Aboriginal culture, traditions, and things we have both discovered about their current position in a world which compromises their traditional practices and way of life. Of-course, Diesel has the better answers, but I try to feed in some questions that provoke some insightful responses.
Alice Springs itself is such a diverse and mind-opening part of Australia and if you intend to visit Australia and explore away from city life, then BEGIN HERE! It will show you many sides of Australia set among a terrain that offers both beauty and challenges at every turn.
And last but not least: Apologies for the shaky video and varied volume. Apart from the "road" being more like trying to drive over a land-slide with the odd dry river-bed thrown in to the mix, the internet at my hostel is like an old car..goes but then cuts out before too long. So putting this together has been just as challenging as those rocky roads that got me here in the first place! Oh well...it is Australia after all!
Happy Travels!
