Non-Executive Director - Finance/Audit

The British Veterinary Association (BVA) is the largest representative body for the veterinary profession in the UK. We guide and support our members throughout their careers, from vet school through to retirement, and speak up for them on the issues that matter most. We are the only UK veterinary association that looks after the interests of all vets in all disciplines, and our membership continues to grow year on year.

We are looking for a Non-Executive Director, with a finance background, to guide our Board on finance matters and to contribute and be involved in all Board activities and duties.

The time commitment is for a minimum of 8 Board meetings per year (including 2 Audit Committee meetings), plus attending other committee meetings and subgroups as required. The total time commitment is expected to be about 20 days per year.

The majority of meetings are held in London. Expenses are reimbursed in accordance with BVA’s expenses policy. Remuneration is £6.5k per annum.

The closing date for receipt of applications is 9am on Monday 21st September 2015. First interviews will be held on 28th September.
