We are currently recruiting for an experienced PMO Support Manager to work for Transport for London on an interim basis for 6 months to work on a new programme.
As PMO Support Manager you will provide support to the Senior Project Manager and Programme Manager in tracking and reporting progress against the London Rail 10 year Plan.
London Rail (LR) has established a customer service strategy to support its 10 Year London Rail Plan, which provides a clear and consistent direction for each LR business to work within. A programme of works and initiatives has been established with cross business collaboration, a Year 0 Plan, for the first 6 months of this 10 year strategy.
Key Accountabilities
* Maintain the programme plans and tracks status against the six workstream plans
* Works with the Programme Management team to develop the Programme resource plan and maintains the plan thereafter, identifying gaps and key risks/issues
* Identifies key planning/programme risks and brings them to the attention of the Programme management team
* Provides administration and co-ordination support to all programme arranging meetings when necessary, tracking actions and maintaining the forward agenda
⢠Completes programme and workstream reporting as required for sign off by the Programme Management team
⢠Maintains the RAID log; liaising with key stakeholders to provide updates regularly
⢠Supports the Programme Manager/Senior Project Manager with the creation of programme documentation; creating Power Point slides and configuring Word documents as necessary
⢠Prepares programme papers/status updates
⢠Ensures the programme adheres to the specified governance framework
⢠Monitors activity on the communications plan and ensure it aligns with programme activity
⢠Applies rigourous change control to the programme plans, helping to identify slippages early and making the Programme Manager/Senior Project Manager aware of key risks
⢠Maintains relationships with project stakeholders liaising directly with them on key risks, issues and programme progress
⢠Applies the TfL business change framework developing all products and reports required

Skills and Experience
⢠Fully skilled in the application of the full range of project controls to different types of projects, able to apply principles to implement a workable and effective risk management approach (Essential)
⢠Excellent written and oral communications skills (Essential)
⢠Strong analytical skills: Ability to identify critical issues and constructively challenge stakeholders to improve project delivery overall; (Essential)
⢠Ability to see the wider context, while retaining an eye for the detail. (Essential)
⢠Influencing skills and ability to build effective working relationships at all levels across the business (Essential)
⢠Experience of working in programme management / project support offices. (Essential)
⢠Experience of setting-up and operating project controls systems for different types of projects; including use and configuration of PPM systems (Essential)
⢠Experience of coaching / mentoring project staff (Desirable)
⢠Experience of reviewing / auditing project controls (Desirable)
⢠Experience of developing / delivering project management training (Desirable)
