Knox Manning (January 17, 1904 – August 26, 1980) was an American film actor. He was born Charles Knox Manning in Worcester, Massachusetts and died in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California.
A former radio newscaster at KNX and announcer, Manning entered the motion picture field in 1939 as an offscreen narrator. His distinctive voice and phrasing were noticed by other studios, and he quickly became one of the movies' busiest voice artists. Very often he was the trademark voice of several concurrent series. From 1940 to 1954 he was the narrator of Columbia Pictures' popular adventure serials, reading the sometimes tongue-in-cheek scripts with enthusiasm. (The voice-overs in the Batman TV series of the 1960s owe much of their style to Knox Manning's breezy but urgent narrations of the 1940s, including his work in the two Batman movie serials.) Away from Columbia, he was the commentator for Warner Brothers' historical, musical, and novelty short subjects. He made his services available to independent producers as well, bringing equal vigor to a religious drama and an anti-vice crusade.

Thayer approaches Jim Barnes, the head of his own aviation construction firms to help build a rocket that will take them to the moon. Together they gather the captains of industry and all pledge to support the goals of having the united States be the first to put a man on the moon. They build their rocket and successfully leave the Earth's gravitational pull and make the landing as scheduled. Barnes has miscalculated their fuel consumption however and after stripping the ship bare, they are still 100 lbs too heavy meaning that one of them will have to stay behind.

Plot: Located on the outskirts of Hollywood are 'Rennie Renfro' (qv)'s kennels, home to some of the greatest dog actors in the Hollywood movie business. It takes much work to get just the right performance by any animal required for any given movie. Using one of his star dogs 'Daisy (VIII)' (qv), Rennie demonstrates some of his training techniques. Because the animals work in sound movies, they must be trained using silent cues. These training techniques are put into practice as a multitude of different animal actors and their respective trainers show what the animals can do in a revue styled performance.

I do not own the copyright to this recording. This video is for historical and educational purposes There are no photos of Leola Manning, and very little is known about her, she is believed to have been from the Knoxville, Tn. area. Some prewar blues and gospel enthusiasts have compared her style to Memphis Minnie. However, Leola made it clear in her other recordings that she was no blueswoman, strictly a daughter of God. She had two sessions in Knoxville in 1929-30. Six numbers were cut between the two sessions, all were issued on three 78 RPM records. Knox Manning takes you on "a brief journey behind the scenes. In each show, Manning tells well-written stories about Pocahontas, Will Rogers, Mr. Woolworth, and others. Though only about four minutes long, this program offered short but strong stories about the lives of individuals. The show highlights the strange real life stories behind famous books and history. Each segment gives interesting little-known facts about famous figures, and puts a new light on those you thought you knew so well! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chelsea - Brian McGinn and Rod Blackhurst on Making Amanda Knox – Netflix UNLISTED YT: https://youtu.be/M8MnE3SSbOE Description: Despite her acquittal, it seems nearly everyone has an opinion on whether Amanda Knox is innocent or guilty. Amanda Knox directors Brian McGinn and Rod Blackhurst explain why they chose to tackle the story from a different angle, noting that the real tragedy of a young woman losing her life was swept away by the drama and speculation over Knox’s innocence. The filmmakers also argue that Knox was more heavily criticized for lacking sympathy due to the fact that she is a woman and draw comparisons to the way that Hillary Clinton has often been treated in the current election.

After getting cancelled on last-minute by Ann Coulter last week, Chelsea had a few questions for Rob Lowe about what it was like to have the conservative commentator roast him earlier this summer. Lowe explained that he was so uncomfortable, he couldn’t even look at her. However, co-roaster Peyton Manning gave Lowe some helpful advice on blocking her out of his peripheral vision, just like the football pro does during games.
