Kenzo Roberts, 20, is seen on surveillance video gnawing his fingers, chewing and then swallowing as he sits in the back of a patrol car. He had been stopped by Lee County Sheriff's deputies for driving a stolen Mercedes. He also had a fake ID, three fake credits cards and a concealed firearm, WPTV reported Saturday. Fingertip scanners quickly identified the suspect, despite his self-mutilation. Roberts was also wanted on a warrant from Broward County for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was charged with three counts of possessing a fake credit card, grand theft auto, possession of a concealed weapon, driving with a suspended license and giving false ID to a law enforcement officer. The U.S. Border Patrol said Roberts was in the country illegally. He has a long criminal history and has been deported to Mexico five times, according to local media reports. “This senseless and totally preventable act of violence committed by an illegal immigrant is yet another example of why we must secure our border immediately,” Trump said in a statement. “This is an absolutely disgraceful situation and I am the only one that can fix it. Nobody else has the guts to even talk about it,” the billionaire developer and television personality said. When announcing his plans on June 16 to seek the Republican nomination for president, Trump described immigrants from Mexico to the United States as drug-runners and rapists. His comments prompted a widespread outpouring of criticism. Comcast Corp's NBC network cut ties with Trump and the “Miss USA” and “Miss Universe” pageants, and Spanish-language network Univision pulled the July 12 “Miss USA” pageant. Department store chain Macy's Inc said it would phase out Trump's menswear collection and New York City said it was reviewing its contracts with the developer. “Macy's is a company that stands for diversity and inclusion. We have no tolerance for discrimination in any form,” Macy's said. Trump fired back, saying it was his decision to end ties with Macy's. He also filed a $500 million lawsuit against Univision for dropping the event.

Let it not be said that Donald Trump isn’t self-aware, because he said on Fox News this morning that of course running for president is “bad for my brand.” Trump was on Fox & Friends talking about his views on illegal immigration, and at one point he addressed the issue of whether his endgame is actually to be president or whether he’s just doing it to boost his brand. And the Donald understands that running for president isn’t doing him any favors––companies left and right are dumping him––and of course it’s not good for his brand. He said, “I lose customers, I lose people… I gave up hundreds of millions of dollars.” So why’s he running if it’s bad and could get worse for him? Because he just wants to “make the country safe.”

A California toddler fighting for her life Thursday after a brutal beating at the hands of an illegal immigrant with a long criminal record is the latest case to rile California sheriffs and police against a U.S. immigration policy they say is forcing them to release dangerous criminals out on the street. Francisco Javier Chavez, the live-in boyfriend of the unidentified two-year-old's mother, is out on bail after being charged in the late July attack, which left the San Luis Obispo County girl with two broken arms, a broken femur, a compressed spine, a urinary tract infection and a fever of 107 degrees. Chavez's criminal record includes assault and drug convictions and arrests for violent acts including kidnapping, car jacking and cruelty to a child.

Kathryn Steinle, 32, was fatally shot as she walked with her father along the popular Embarcadero pier on Wednesday in what San Francisco police described as an apparent random attack. Francisco Sanchez, 45, was quickly arrested nearby. He is on probation from Texas, police said. He has a long criminal history and has been deported to Mexico five times, according to local media s. “This senseless and totally preventable act of violence committed by an illegal immigrant is yet another example of why we must secure our border immediately,” Trump said in a statement. “This is an absolutely disgraceful situation and I am the only one that can fix it. Department store chain Macy's Inc said it would phase out Trump's menswear collection and New York City said it was reviewing its contracts with the developer. “Macy's is a company that stands for diversity and inclusion. We have no tolerance for discrimination in any form,” Macy's said. Trump fired back, saying it was his decision to end ties with Macy's. He also filed a $500 million lawsuit against Univision for dropping the event. Obama's amnesty action includes awarding work permits, drivers’ licenses, Social Security cards and “earned income” tax rebates to millions of illegal immigrants that pay no taxes and fast track them for citizenship and voting privileges. It is an admitted plan to create a “country within a country.” Obama’s Department of Homeland Security has caught and released back into the U.S. at least 68,000 illegal aliens previously convicted of a crime, as reported by the Center for Immigration Studies, when they could have been deported. “The criminal alien releases typically occur without formal notice to local law enforcement agencies and victims,” CIS’s Jessica Vaughan, the report’s author, added. By “criminal,” ICE means people who have been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony that is not a traffic violation. For instance, traffic violations like Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or even vehicular manslaughter do not count toward this description of “criminal alien.” As for the definition of “alien,” ICE mostly means illegal aliens, though some are legal aliens considered deportable for committing a felony.
