Me quoted in Fairfax papers on tax haven use
Me quoted by Georgia Wilkins in The Age (and other Fairfax publications) today. John Passant, from the school of political science and international relations, at the Australian National University, said the trend noted by Computershare was further evidence multinationals did not take global regulators seriously. ”US companies are doing this on the hard-nosed basis that any [regulatory] changes that will be made won’t have an impact on their ability to avoid tax,” he said. ”They think it is going to take a long time for the G20 to take action, or that they are just all talk.” (1)

If I lived in Western Australia, I’d be voting Socialist Alliance

To all those who struck or demonstrated for public education this week in WA, for all those there who marched in March, for all those who want to be active and make the world better, even change the world, one small step would be to vote for Socialist Alliance on Saturday in Western Australia as part of building a fighting opposition to neoliberalism and more generally to capitalism.

Join the fightback contingent on May Day

This year Socialist Alternative, having just completed a merger with the Revolutionary Socialist Party, will be marching alongside the Socialist Alliance and others in joint “Fight back” contingents around the country. We invite you to join us as we march together.

A party invitation to John Faulkner

Unlike John Faulkner, don’t waste your time on the Labor Party, a moribund organisation of time servers and careerists bowing down at the altar of profit.

Instead check out Socialist Alternative and consider becoming part of a growing movement of revolutionaries in Australia to help build the fightbacks needed today and ultimately to challenge the dictatorship of capital.

Report on discussions between Socialist Alliance and Socialist Alternative

The two main socialist groups in Australia agree that the basis exists to begin a process of discussion to clarify our respective political positions and engage in collaborative work, with the aim of establishing if unity is possible.

In Australia Socialist Alliance seeks unity talks with Socialist Alternative

Socialist Alternative has agreed to attend an initial and exploratory discussion about possible collaboration and unity with Socialist Alliance.
