Ball Corporation (NYSE: BLL), originally Ball Brothers Glass Manufacturing Company, is an American company famous for producing glass canning jars. Founded in 1880, it is currently headquartered in Broomfield, Colorado. The company has expanded into other areas such as avionics, space systems, metal beverage and food containers and aluminum aerosol containers. Ball is the largest producer of recyclable beverage cans in the world. The company exited the home canning business in 1993 by spinning it off into a separate company.[citation needed]
In 1880, Frank C. and Edmund B. Ball, two of the five Ball brothers of fruit jar fame, borrowed $200 from their Uncle George Ball to buy the Wooden Jacket Can Company. The wooden jackets encased tin cans which held kerosene. Because the acid used to refine kerosene caused corrosion in tin, the brothers decided to use glass for the inserts of the wood jacketed cans. Initially, they bought the glass containers from a factory in Poughkeepsie, New York. In 1882, the factory that supplied the glass containers was destroyed by fire. Some of the glassblowers from that factory suggested to the Ball brothers that they build their own factory. They purchased land in East Buffalo and built a two-story brick building for the stamping works and a one-story frame factory for the glass works. Because of the volume of business, a larger furnace was soon needed. In order to use the full capacity of the furnace, it was decided to make other glass products.

Plot
The right of every individual to be different from his fellow men is the theme behind this internationally-hailed, British production. The story tells of a man's dilemma when he refused to participate in an unofficial strike, where he works. While vicious, calculated violence brings the other dissenters into line, he goes it alone and is sent to Coventry (given the silent treatment) by his fellow workers. A stirring, thought-provoking film that portrays the human problems and high emotions generated when a man dares to act on the courage of his convictions and dares fight to keep his individual freedom.

If I hadn't dropped the ball, I would've took it all the way
Homecoming '89 with ten seconds left to play
We were drivin' toward the goal line, they were screamin' in the stands
I had the chance to be a hero but it slipped right through my hands
There would've been a big pep rally
They would've hung my jersey on the wall
If I hadn't dropped the ball
Me and Cindy Miller were supposed to meet after the game
I waited by the bleachers, but she never came
I found a note on my windshield, underneath the wiper blade
With goodbye bleedin' through it in the cold October rain
We probably would've gotten married
And those recruiters in from 'Bama would've called
If I hadn't dropped the ball
My life would've been so different if in that instant
Things had gone the way I planned
But the fact is that they didn't and the hand I wound up getting
Is something that I'll never understand
I ran away that summer, took a job out on the coast
And that's where I met your mama, and the rest I guess you know
If I had the chance to go back and score that last touchdown
Well, son, I wouldn't do it, 'cause you wouldn't be here now
And I wouldn't be your hero
I wouldn't be around to catch you when you fall
If I hadn't dropped the ball
My life would've been so different if in that instant
Things had gone the way I planned
But the fact is that they didn't and the hand I wound up getting
Is the one that God intended me to have
No, I wouldn't be the man I am at all
Down Poppie Johnny Road, nobody hears your name
Life that I was lovin', like stealin' a ride on a train
Wanna steal a ride on a train
Crawlin' in the dirt all night
I guess this is a place
Newborns lashed to a dead oak tree
Settle deeper in the rain
Settle deeper in the rain
Hold me tight, flying through the air
Hold on strong, and we're almost there
Laugh so hard, the devil gets scared
I got a real good mind to beat your senseless
Best to count your blessing child
The sun's not too hot today
Like to get to church before
Oh, before this old jacket fades
Take us right to the shade
That's the end of Poppie Johnny Road
Old blind that cures your misery
Give her five dollars, boy
Oh, and a reason to believe
A reason to believe
Hold me tight, flying through the air
Coalyards calling, we're almost there
Laugh so hard and the devil's all scared
I got a real good mind to beat you senseless
Down Poppie Johnny Road, nobody hears your name
The life that I love, like stealin' a ride on a train
Oh, steal a ride on a train
At the end of Poppie Johnny Road
Old Blind that cures your misery
Just get five dollars there and a reason to believe
A reason to believe
Hold me tight, flying through the air
Coalyards calling, we're almost there
Laughed so hard and the devil gets scared
I got a real good mind, to beat you senseless
