Having embezzled a small fortune and attempting to lay low, Robert Burger and his mistress Dorothea choose a remote rental property which in unobtrusive. But they soon make the grave mistake of befriending two nine year old girls, Thelma and Elizabeth who live close by. Behind her seemingly cute and innocent façade, Thelma is a scheming, precocious brat who intrudes upon the couples life and photographs the pair and ultimately discovers their dark little secret. With Elizabeth's help they proceed to blackmail the bemused, unsuspecting twosome. But events eventually begin to unravel leading the pseudo-angelic brat to resort to twisted and evil crimes, meaning the lives of those associated with her gradually descend in to hell.

The Cahulawassee River valley in Northern Georgia is one of the last natural pristine areas of the state, which will soon change with the imminent building of a dam on the river, which in turn will flood much of the surrounding land. As such, four Atlanta city slickers - alpha male Lewis Medlock, generally even-keeled Ed Gentry, slightly condescending Bobby Trippe, and wide-eyed Drew Ballinger - decide to take a multi-day canoe trip on the river, with only Lewis and Ed having experience in outdoor life. They know going in that the area is ethno-culturally homogeneous and isolated, but don't understand the full extent of such until they arrive and see what they believe is the result of generations of inbreeding. Their relatively peaceful trip takes a turn for the worse when half way through they encounter a couple of hillbilly moonshiners. That encounter not only makes the four battle their way out of the valley intact and alive, but threatens the relationships of the four as they do and are asked to do things they never thought possible within themselves.

One More Train to Rob (1971)

Illegally stopped and searched in WI.

Deputy claims I had a non functional tail light. He also claims I was not wearing my seat belt. After the officer pulled me over he claimed to have smelled an odor of "dope" coming from my car and he proceeded to search it. At no point during the encounter do I say anything other then "Im not answering any questions" and "I do not concent to search and seizure". During my investigation to see what evidence the officer had for pulling me over, I sent a letter to the sheriffs office requesting the dash cam footage of the event as well as the officers report. The request was accepted however they claim that "due to malfunction, the dash cam from the Deputies car is unavailable." I have since filed for the maintenance/check log report of the vehicle in question. I am making public, all the records and video of the event. I have submitted my plea's of not guilty and await my pre-trial conference with the DA. Below you will find links to the police report and letter regarding the dash cam. After branding the 10-year delay “a disgrace”, Ms Anna Lo MLA asked the deputy First Minister, Martin McGuinness, when a draft sexual orientation strategy will be brought to the Executive. Junior Minister Jennifer McCann, answering on behalf of the Department, agreed that the strategy “has been far too long in coming”. The PSNI has reported a recent increase in hate crimes of this nature, putting an onus on us to bring a strategy forward adding that “we need to send a very clear message to the LGBT community that it has the reassurance that the Executive will ensure that its needs and interests will be addressed by government.” Following the recent equal marriage referendum in the Republic of Ireland the Junior Minister McCann also discussed the potential for Northern Ireland to follow saying “we also have to ensure that we are legislating and that anything that we do here is for everyone, that we are progressive and, at any time, we need to challenge homophobia in any other places where that leads to discrimination and everything else against people, particularly our young people.” Paul Girvan then asked the deputy First Minister for an update on the implementation of the Stormont House Agreement in light of the current difficulties in implementing Welfare Reform. Mr McGuinness explained that party leaders continue to meet weekly in an effort to take the Agreement forward. Plans are being drawn up to deal with matters such as the past, flags, parades and emblems. However the current impasse over welfare reform “has created very serious difficulties, which have implications for the agreement and the future of these institutions.” The Minister is confident that the difficulties can be resolved adding that “what is required now is political will from all parties and both Governments to reach a suitable resolution that protects the most vulnerable in our society and the economic viability of these institutions.” During Question Time the deputy First Minister also answered queries on the proposed repeal of the Human Rights Act 1998, the Historical Institutional Abuse Inquiry and the social investment fund. There was also a period of topical questions in which the Minister discussed topics such as the Parades Commission, community relations in South Belfast and the sustainable development strategy.

Finance Minister, Arlene Foster, and Junior Minister, Michelle McIlveen, answered questions on behalf of the Office of the First Minister and deputy First Minister during today’s Question Time. Mrs Foster provided the House with an update on the childcare strategy after Patsy McGlone expressed his concern about the burdensome high costs of childcare. Mrs Foster confirmed that “The cost, and, in many cases, the high cost, of childcare is what the strategy has been trying to identify.” The first phase of the strategy was launched in September 2013. After a research and consultation phase it was determined that the greatest area of need was for school-age childcare services (4-14) such as breakfast clubs, after school clubs and summer schemes. As a result the school-age childcare grant scheme was launched last year. So far 79 applicants have qualified for £3m worth of funding over the next 3 years and will create around 2,200 low-cost quality childcare places. Work on the final strategy is progressing well and is expected to be released for consultation by the end of the year. George Robinson then asked what effect the on-going difficulties with agreeing Welfare Reform and consequent budgetary restrictions will have on organisations working with victims and survivors. Mrs Foster assured that “The First Minister and deputy First Minister are committed and will continue to remain committed to ensuring that victims and survivors receive the best services possible and that funding is targeted to those most in need.” In fact the funding for victims and survivors services has been increased to £14m in this financial year. In addition, Ministers are looking at how service provision can be improved. OFMDFM officials are currently working with key stakeholders to realign and improve the service delivery model. Mrs Foster did discuss the real need to deal with Welfare Reform and the budget agreed with the Treasury in the Stormont House Agreement saying “we have to deal with the budget that is allocated to us by the Westminster Government. Wishing it away is not going to do any good. We have to get real and deal with the issues that are in front of us now.” During Question Time the Minister also discussed the racial equality strategy, Programme for Government targets, foreign direct investment and online safety.

First Minister, Peter Robinson, provided the House with an update on the devolution of corporation tax during today’s Question Time. The First Minister affirmed that “developing corporation tax-setting powers is a key commitment in the Programme for Government, as a wide range of evidence has shown that there is significant economic benefit to lowering the rate in Northern Ireland.” The legislation to transfer responsibility is currently working its way through Westminster and should receive Royal Assent before the general election. Consultation events are being organised and HMRC is already making preparatory arrangements. It is unlikely that arrangements will be in place to reduce the tax before April 2017 but we should see inward and foreign investment put in place before then in anticipation of the change. Daithi McKay also enquired about the Department’s strategy for international relations into the future. The international relations strategy “aims to enhance Northern Ireland's international credibility and develop mutually beneficial relations with targeted regions around the world. Securing investment, improving trade and attracting tourists and international students to Northern Ireland are key to the strategy.” Offices in Brussels, Washington and Beijing play a key role in implementing the strategy. Invest NI have achieved unprecedented success in attracting US investment here. The Chinese government’s plans to open a consulate general in Northern Ireland are at an advanced stage. The First Minister (and Junior Minister, Jonathan Bell) also answered queries on support for clerical abuse victims, pensions for victims of the Troubles and the safeguarding of culture and arts in the reorganising of Executive Departments. During topical questions Mr Robinson also answered questions on a proposed Irish language Bill, welfare reform and the social investment fund.

The deputy First Minister discussed the future of the Maze/Long Kesh site as plans for a new peace-building centre at the site stall. There is a very strong commitment in the development of the Maze/Long Kesh site for the Royal Ulster Agricultural Society for that to move in parallel with the construction of the peace-building and conflict resolution centre. ” Discussions will continue to see if a way forward can be determined - “I am determined to find a way forward, and I hope that those who opposed the project in the first instance recognise the opportunities that the construction of a peace-building and conflict resolution centre can provide for the purposes of reconciliation and peace-making among all of us.” During the topical question period Bronwyn McGahan asked the Minister what impact there will be on delivering services in light of the cuts to the Executive’s block grants. Mr McGuinness believes that “the British Government are effectively crucifying the Executive as a result of the swingeing cuts to our block grant” saying that £1.5bn has been stripped away. As a result the cuts have had an impact on the ability of departments to deliver services to the highest standard. However he feels that our Ministers “have performed heroically in the face of that onslaught by protecting front-line services and the most vulnerable members of society.” Mr McGuinness ominously added that “my attitude is this: if the Tories are re-elected, given the threats that they have made about the continuation of austerity, we should all be afraid; we should all be very afraid.” During Question Time the deputy First Minister also answered questions on anti-discrimination legislation, the recruitment of a Victims’ Commissioner, urban village projects and deficiencies in the Racial Equality Strategy.

Patsy McGlone asked the First Minister, Peter Robinson, what more their Department can do to introduce affordably and flexible childcare during today’s questions to the Office of the First Minister and deputy First Minister. Mr Robinson revealed that he would like to give an overview of what his Department has already done. " The first phase of the Executive's childcare strategy was launched back in September 2013. It included a number of key first actions to address the main childcare needs that had been identified through research and consultation. School-age childcare was the greatest area of need identified. The school-age childcare grant scheme, which we launched just over a year ago, was developed to create new high-quality school-age childcare places and sustain the places we already have. To date, the grant scheme has allocated £2 million to 50 successful school-age childcare projects. Those projects will sustain or create approximately 1,500 low-cost quality childcare places. We expect to grant aid further school-age childcare projects before the summer and launch a third call for applications to the grant scheme in the autumn. This will result in further low-cost childcare places being created or sustained". Junior Minister, Jonathan Bell, also discussed the sexual orientation strategy and confirmed that " work will continue over the coming weeks to develop outcomes and subsequent indicators with the project team. Once the draft strategy is finalised, it will be referred to the Committee for the Office of the First Minister and deputy First Minister for consideration, before seeking Executive agreement. A further 12-week period of consultation will then take place, and I anticipate that the sexual orientation strategy will be published after that final phase of consultation". The First Minister was asked during the 15 minute period of Topical Questions about homophobic remarks made by DUP representatives in the last number of years, for an update on the implementation of the Stormont House Agreement and whether the First Minister believes that the outcome of the Westminister election will have any implications for the Executive's Programme for Government.

First Minister Peter Robinson addressed topics such as the Social Investment Fund, Catherine Seeley, EU Funding and shale gas during Question Time today. Social Investment fund The First Minister, Peter Robinson said: "I welcome this £33million investment in projects to deliver the Social Investment Fund programme. An enormous amount of work has been done by Steering Groups to identify projects that will address the issues affecting the communities that are most in need in each area. "Today's announcement of the first 23 projects confirms where almost half of the Social Investment Fund will be spent. We are determined to see all £80million of this important fund allocated in the coming months." EU Funding Mr Swann asked the First Minister for an update on the drawdown on the EU competitive funding in relation to the Programme for Government target. The First Minister confirmed that: "the department continue to make good progress towards meeting the 20% target. In 2011-12, year one, we drew down £23 million, and in 2012-13, year two, we drew down £18·3 million. I can confirm, therefore, that at the halfway point in the full Budget period 2011-15, £41·3 million has been drawn down, which represents 64% of the target, so we are on track to realise the total drawdown of £64·4 million by the end of March 2015. Figures for 2013-14 will be available after the end of this financial year. We will continue to monitor progress through the all-party ministerial Budget review group, which I co-chair with the deputy First Minister, and the junior Ministers will also continue to encourage Departments to deliver against this target through the Barroso task force working group". North/South Interconnector Cathal Boylan asks The First Minister, Peter Robinson if work should be carried out to assess whether north south electricity interconnector is needed. First Minister Peter Robinson replied: "I do not think that there is any question about the need for the project. That was the one thing that we were all very clear about. How it is implemented is an issue of cost. I understand that the cost of underground cabling would be so high that it would make the project unfeasible. From that point of view, it is very clear what needs to happen. I recognise the rights of people to object because not everybody wants to have the kind of overhead cables that would be necessary going through their land or close to their property. However, as I understand it, it is absolutely essential that the project goes ahead. "the cost of putting electricity interconnector underground is so high it would make project unfeasible". Catherine Seeley: Intimidation The First Minister stated the he "deplores intimidation in the workplace, no matter where it takes place or against whom it is directed. People should get jobs on merit and should be allowed to carry out their employment in a peaceful and dignified way. Of course, there are issues about education; there are also issues about fairness of employment in education. However, none of those touches on the issue or justifies the intimidation of anybody in the workplace". Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness provided an update on the implementation of the social investment fund in North Belfast during today’s Question Time. Three projects worth £5.4m have received letters of offer with a further offer for an increasing community services cluster on the way. The funding will have a major impact on communities given that people were asked to come forward with their ideas on how to improve community life - “that covers a wide range of issues, such as education, young people and infrastructure projects and how we can improve and refurbish existing properties in different parts of the zones that exist throughout the North”. After overcoming initial teething troubles it won’t be long before people begin to see the physical changes taking place in their communities. Roy Beggs asked the deputy First Minister how the Delivering Social Change signature project for improving literacy and numeracy has achieved its goal of helping struggling children in primary and post-primary schools. The project “has provided up to two years of additional teaching resource to support schools in their work to improve educational outcomes for our most disadvantaged children and young people” and positive feedback has been received about the impact of the support. The evaluation of the programme has revealed that 76% of primary schools stated that it has been successfully implemented for literacy and numeracy support. In the post-primary sector, 68% of schools stated that it had been successfully implemented for GCSE English, and 76% for GCSE maths. A full report by the western region's education authority on the first year's implementation of the programme has been finalised and will be published later this month. The Minister also fielded questions on the Summer Camp Programme 2015, Gender Equality Strategy, the strategy to improve the lives of people with disabilities and funding for organisations in the women’s sector. During topical questions the Minister also answered queries on the Erne Hospital site, Desertcreat Community Safety College and austerity measures.

Deputy First Minister, Martin McGuinness, provided an update on the Older People’s Strategy during today’s Question Time. The purpose of the strategy is to “transform attitudes to and services for older people” adding that “it is important that we fully acknowledge the enormous contribution that older people make to our society and that we challenge the negative stereotyping of older people.” The strategy will provide direction for Departments and lead to the improvement of services for older people. The Department have worked closely with stakeholders and the Commissioner for Older People to develop the strategy which will then go to the OFMDFM Committee before going to the Executive for approval. The Minister also discussed the worryingly high number of crimes against older people saying “this is a huge issue for society. All of us — the Police Service, the voluntary and community sector, local communities and politicians — have to work together to identify what need there is and to see whether we can bring forward solutions.” During topical questions Brenda Hale asked the deputy First Minister if he will be taking the opportunity to promote investment in Northern Ireland during his upcoming trip to the US for St Patrick’s Day. In recent years the First Minister and deputy First Minister have been very successful in attracting US investment “even against the backdrop of a very cruel world economic recession”. In light of the recent Stormont House agreement he expects this trend to continue and he intends to “make it absolutely clear to everybody that we are open for business.” Mr McGuinness is also confident that the proposed devolution of corporation tax will play an important role in encouraging more direct foreign investment in Northern Ireland and the increased creation of job opportunities. During Question Time the deputy First Minister also answered questions on the Social Investment Fund, Together: Building a United Community, Shackleton Barracks and the proposed reduction in the number of MLAs.

LA Deputy Chief to CNN: Terror Threat Hasn’t ‘Been This High Since 9/11′

On Wednesday night, the Los Angeles Police Department announced it would be on high alert for the July 4th weekend. As local ABC 7 reporter Leanne Suter notes, “There are no credible or specific threats, but there is serious concern of a potential homegrown attack.” So nothing “credible” or “specific” — just “serious concern” about “potential” attacks. Sure, maintaining alertness during periods of vulnerability can be a good thing, but the nonexistence of evidence is concerning, especially when you consider what Deputy Chief Michael Downing said: “The threat stream is very high. In fact, we don’t think it’s been this high since 9/11.” I’m sorry, what? First of all, what’s the “threat stream”? I assume it’s a specific thing since, according to your use of the definite article, there’s either (a) only the one, or (b) the one you’re alluding to is the most important. However, and more importantly, “since 9/11″? Were we even talking about terrorist threats just before the first plane struck the World Trade Center in New York City? Sorry, I have to check with my records, and… No, we weren’t. Yet Downing’s words were immediately caught in the 24-hour news cycle’s nets, and he was invited on to CNN on Friday to discuss his comments and what they indicated (if anything) about the Independence Day weekend. The segment began promisingly, as This Hour co-anchors John Berman and Kate Bolduan asked Downing point blank about his “not since 9/11″ comment and what information convinced him to say it. Did Downing reveal any new information? Or did he opine that it was a strong, or at least poorly phrased statement, and recant it? Nope, he merely repeated his prior talking points. And to make matters worse, Berman and Bolduan went along with it and never questioned what Downing had to say (or didn’t say at all). The Deputy Chief argues, “It just makes sense that we’re on a higher level of alert” after listing off various terrorism-linked events around the world, and that’s that. To counter, I could probably quote Franklin D. Roosevelt‘s 1933 inaugural address — you know, the one with the “fear itself” line that everybody likes to end their emails with — but I won’t. Instead, I’ll try and enjoy my Independence Day weekend festivities, even with the knowledge that a few dozen militarized police or so will be eyeing me and everyone else with twitchy-trigger-finger suspicion. The Republican People’s Party (CHP) has decided to nominate its Istanbul deputy Şafak Pavey, the first disabled female member elected to Turkish Parliament, as their candidate for the office of deputy parliament speaker. The CHP made its decision at a parliamentary group meeting held on July 3 with its newly elected deputies of the Turkey’s 25th term of parliament. Earlier, the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) named its Trabzon deputy Koray Aydın, a former minister, as their candidate for the same post. Meanwhile, the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), which has the highest percentage of women deputies compared to the total number of seats the four parties in parliament hold, picked its Van deputy Yurdusev Özsökmenler, one of its 32 women deputies, as their candidate. Next week, the national assembly will establish its bureau, which consists of 15 deputies: the speaker, four vice-speakers, seven secretaries, and three quaestors. All four political parties will be represented in the bureau according to the proportionate number of seats they hold in the legislature. Justice and Development Party (AKP) candidate İsmet Yılmaz was elected as parliament speaker earlier this week. In 2012, Pavey was awarded a Woman of Courage Award by the White House for her efforts to raise awareness for the plight those with disabilities face in countries where resources are limited. During the 24th term of parliament, three women deputies, AKP’s Ayşe Nur Bahçekapılı, CHP’s Güldal Mumcu and MHP’s Meral Akşener, served as deputy parliament speakers. During the 23rd term of parliament, two women deputies, Mumcu of the CHP and Akşener of the MHP, held the same post.

Reserve II deputies work with regular deputies on various assignments. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office takes great pride in the Reserve II deputy's civic spirit and willingness to serve. Each Reserve II deputy must serve a minimum of 20 volunteer hours each month on assigned duties. Those hours are made up of detail assignments through out the Sheriff's Office. Selected candidates will attend a 360-hour reserve academy at no expense to the individual. The academy is held Monday - Thursday, 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM and some Saturdays at Hillsborough Community College. If the individual has completed a Florida law enforcement academy their certification may be re-activated. The Sheriff's Office pays the tuition costs for this academy. Academy courses of instruction include criminal and civil law, criminal investigations, human relations, report writing, defense tactics, first aid, CPR, and firearms training.

However, Rijiju accused Air India of misleading people and blaming him needlessly. He said he had not been informed that three people were offloaded and would never have "appreciated such a step". The episode came to light a couple of days after an AI flight to New York was delayed by almost an hour as Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis's principal secretary Praveen Pardeshi forgot to get the correct passport with the US visa stamp. On June 24, AI 446 was to operate the last leg of its Delhi-Leh-Srinagar-Leh-Delhi flight. Since the Leh runway is closed for repairs at 10.35am these days, the flight timing out of Delhi was advanced to ensure that it would leave Leh before the runway was closed. "The flight reached Leh at 9.40am on June 24. It was expected that boarding of Delhi-bound passengers would begin at the earliest so that it could leave in time. However, first the J&K; Police (airports in Jammu, Srinagar and Leh are manned by the state police and not CISF) did not allow boarding to commence. They told AI that it would have to wait for some VVIPs," said a source. Later, the state police allowed boarding. Once everyone boarded the aircraft, said sources, the VVIPs reached the airport. "Four passengers seated in the economy section — an Army officer, the IAF officer and his family — were taken off the aircraft. The three VVIPs took their place in the economy section. The army officer was allowed to get back on the plane," said sources. Passengers seated on the aircraft jeered, and shouted slogans, with some making videos of the entire episode on their phones. The aircraft finally took off at 11.15am, well after runway closure time. In recent months, even army charters operated by AI have been cancelled many times as they were to take off close to or after the runway closure time. Rijiju said AI brought forward the flight to 10.20am but it eventually left at its scheduled time, and the airline was misleading people for the purported delay. "How would I've got the ticket if I had not reported on time," he told TOI. The MoS home said the J&K; deputy CM had lodged a strong protest with the civil aviation minister against the pilot and other officials for creating chaos due to ""misinformation" and not informing passengers of the flight''s preponment. "When I was told that the flight is leaving at 11.40 am, then only I had got the ticket," Rijiju said.

Last time WVUA brought you a day in the life of a Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Deputy, this time we show you what its like to be a Deputy Paramedic. Although, the main priority these men and women have are to aid in medical emergencies, they are deputies first and paramedics second. Deputy Paramedic Richard says, the medical unit has been great for communities such as Brookwood, - "the most important aspect of the medical unit at the Sheriff's Office is that we're in the more rural areas and can offer more advanced care while waiting on ambulance services to arrive." Chief Deputy Byron Waid with the Sheriff's Office has had a huge part in putting this unit together. For Waid "its been gratifying," to see this program grow. He also says, the men and women who are apart of this unit have understood the mission of the program and that's to get care to people in rural areas.
